      @the-captain

      Thank you for responding!

      Firstly, your game really does look interesting, and I’m sure it will be quite fun, as a sort of “bonkers” game, where everything is crazy, such as Waffen SS armies.

      Secondly, an interesting idea to add to you rules are Ratte tanks, they probably only move one territory (or maybe even only once every two turns), cannot be loaded on transports, attacks and defends at 5 with 3 dice, takes 3 hits to kill, and costs 12 IPCs. Maybe they can only be placed on Industrial Complexes in the West Germany and Germany territroies.

      Finally, is it possible for you to please send me a link to an accurate 1943 game? I couldn’t really find anything. Thank you!

      Can you please send me some links for 1943 setup games that use the 1940 board? I can’t find them. Thank you!

      @gen-manstein

      Let me repeat what I said in a more orderly matter:

      First, I don’t have another player to play with, nor do I want to (I always feel afraid to lose, and when you play by yourself, you don’t have that fear, and I also like to do this because that way, I can control everything and I like to have everything go to plan, so that way I can also orchestrate big battles). This means I can’t do play testing nor do I want to, because I just want it to be as accurate as possible, which the game does not provide, as I show in the examples above.

      Secondly, I am too impatient or excited to learn the new rules even if they are awesome, even if I will play a game using the new rules (well, not all of them), a 1943 game is a higher priority.

      Thirdly, another reason is because I disagree with some rules due to them not making any logical sense (see above).

      Finally, I proposed an idea where we remove all of the new units in the 1943 setup, whilst keeping all of the normal units intact (the 1940 House Expansion Rules are no longer used).

      @victoryfirst

      Thank you for responding!

      As you said, it takes quite a while to get used to the rules, and while I might have the time eventually, I have so many different planned games to play (such as playing at least one 1941, 1939, and 1942 game using the 1940 board, as well as one with National Advantages from another topic), it will take a while for me to be ready to play the game, a time that I can’t wait (I am very excited to play a 1943 game).

      Another thing is that whenever I ask people to come up with a new version of the game set in a certain year, I always ask for the game to be historically accurate, not balanced, I just want all the real life units and their dispositions turned into pieces (according to a debatable scale of Axis And Allies), with no play testing needed. This is why I am not that big of a fan of The Captain’s 1943 game, because it involved untrue things such as Fallchirmjager invading Scotland, the Italians at one point taking Cairo, and Germany taking all of the Caucasus and Volgograd (but then again, I understand the last one, because historically, Germany only conquered parts of those territories, so it is hard to accurately show that).

      Finally, the final reason why I don’t want to use The Captain’s 1943 game, is that while it is a great game and the new rules are awesome, some things I think don’t make sense- for example, why would the Soviet Union magically get more resources if Germany launched Operation Barbarossa? Or why could the Waffen SS form an army of their own? The Heer would never have allowed to create such a large units (the 6th SS panzer army was not an official name, it was actually called the 6th panzer army, and the 11th SS panzer army was just an excuse by Himmler to promote certain men to higher positions, and it was admitted that is was only a corps sized formation)!

      Sorry if this feels like a rant, but I really do like your game, I just am too inpatient to learn the the new House Expansion Rules, and I’m just wondering: is it possible to just take away all of the new units in your 1943 setup and just leave the normal units in their same places? Thank you!

      Again, thank you for responding!

      The thing is, I usually play against myself, and it takes a while to do this-and I don’t have anyone else to play with, so it will take a while to create a balanced game, which is not what I want anyway. Whenever I come up with my house rules, I just come up with them on the spot without play testing them, because just don’t have the time to do it-besides, I find it quite boring to play the same rules over and over again, that’s why I like to play house rules.

      I checked out Charles De Gaulle’s one, it looks interesting, but I’ve found so many different customs to the game that it will be a while before I get to it, but it looks great.

      I already found out about the games you mentioned, and as I said, these games are mainly for experiment, to see how could the Axis win, especially in the later years. I will check out Charles De Gaulle’s 1939 game (too bad it’s not the real guy, who commanded Allied forces almost from the very start of the war, and I like to think the real guy would know a lot about how to exactly create this game, since he was actually in the war, and a high ranking one a that).

      I am aware of this, but it involved some new units that come with the Axis And Allies 1940 House Rules Expansion, and I said that I didn’t want any changes in rules.

      As for a 1944 game, I just wanted to see was there even a remote chance of the Axis winning in the game-if there was a one in a billion chance that the Axis could win, I would like to see how they could win-I like to play Axis And Allies games for experiments, usually against myself (so balance is never that big of a factor for me, or at all).

      Perhaps many nations won’t use it-after all, only the US did use it. I just found it an interesting idea to give Japan and Germany a chance to use the bomb, with the appropriate enormous investment.

      I don’t know what to use to mark the bomb piece, that’s the only thing I don’t know, except that it is a custom roundel, but I don’t know how that looks like.

      @nolimit

      Actually, I really just found out yesterday, and the 1942 version I used was not from Oztea- I’ll go check that out later. It’s nice that Oztea’s 1942 is biased towards the Axis, because I always play (and root) for the Axis.

      Actually, there is a Spring 1941 game using the Axis And Allies 1940 board! I didn’t know about Oztea’s game until yesterday. I also found one for 1942 by someone else.

      Still, I hope the community has some ideas about a 1943 or 1944 game using the 1940 board. Any ideas? Thank you!

      @nolimit

      Well, as I said above, I don’t care if it is unbalanced, I just want it to be historically accurate at all costs. Still, it is a momentous task, due to the sheer amount of units involved in the game.

    • Which German divisions are on the starting setup?

      The map and setup of the D-Day game shows what Allied divisions are landing on the first turn (and the airborne troops as well) represented by the pieces, but it does not show what German divisions are represented on the board at the start of the game.

      Does the community have any ideas about that?

      Thank you!

    • RE: An accurate version of Axis And Allies Global 1940

      @the-captain

      Thank you for responding and taking my ideas!

      Perhaps we could do something with the morale chart where if a country goes into total war or buy some of those new units you described (perhaps it could be only limited to the units that use new technology, such as Tiger Two tanks, E-100 tanks, Type 21 U-boats or new research developments as well), the morale goes up, symbolising the public’s renewed hope in these developments.

      These are some ideas for morale effects:

      Higher or lower industrial production (either losing or gaining extra space in industrial complexes, or units being cheaper or more expensive)

      If morale drops really low, perhaps units on the side that is affected cannot attack, have a penalty when defending, and only defend normal when defending original territories (may not apply to special units, such as fanatical Waffen SS, or elite Guards infantry, US Marines, or British Commandos, and obviously elite infantry-after all, that’s partly why they are elite units).

      When morale drops extremely low (probably the lowest on the chart), there could be a possible revolution which could make the country surrender. How this works is that all of the power’s territories will no longer allow units to enter from any side. All foreign units inside these territories will have to move to the closest friendly adjacent territory (it can also be the closest friendly transport, provided that the transport is not full). The power will stay neutral for the rest of the game. Another idea is that for certain countries (or possibly all, I’m not sure about the likelihood of this happening) such as Italy or France, they can instead defect to the other side, making it a full member of the opposite side. If Italian morale has fallen so low that this happens, a German take over of Italy can happen the moment this happens, instead of having to wait for Germany’s turn (whenever the Allies capture an original Italian territory, they liberate it instead). Whichever version is used, any revolution happening will have the power return all captured territories to the respective powers on the other side.

      Perhaps if morale is high, units can get an attack and defence bonus, especially on original territories.

      Another idea I have is that if morale is lower than a certain level, the player can spend IPCs to make it go up again. This cannot happen after a revolution (if a power defects to the other side, they can still spend their IPCs to raise morale for continuing fighting on the side they defected to).

      My physical rulebook is the same version as the link you put up, I just wanted to clear things up due to the differences between that and the usual online version.

    • Question with US IPC setup

      Basically, the rulebook says the US has 15 IPCs, but when I count the amount of territories the US has, it’s 17 IPCs. Is this a mistake with the rulebook?
