I would want those units to be a game option, if possible (or just create two different modules, one with the regular unit designs, one with these units).

Actually, a good idea would be to change the battle sounds. It never quite sat right with me to have the battles on the ground use the sound effects normally reserved for pure air combat in other maps. I’d rather have the regular ground battle sound effects.

Wanna play another game? VictoryFirst sent me a newer module that’s even better.

I know, right? The AA guns and blockhouses roll for themselves, the naval bombardment somehow knows to only target blockhouses, and the Allied airfield looks much cleaner.

Definitely the first/new one! I was so jealous seeing Barnee’s Global 1940 Expansion game reports using it! It’s so accurate!!!

Yeah, you can make the changes. I’ll update my original post accordingly. I can wait a day or two.

Additionally, setting all the battles to one turn allows the battle calculator to work. He also merged the armor, infantry, and artillery zones on the reinforcement cards into one territory/zone, making it easier to move reinforcements.

Germany Turn 4 Combat Complete D-Day Game 29.tsvg
I made a mistake last turn when moving German reinforcements and accidentally ended up with 1 more tank than neccessary instead of an artillery. I switched it at the beginning of the turn. I believe little impact was made on the game.

Also just realized that it wasn’t 3 tanks surviving the first strafe, it was 2 tanks and 1 artillery.
Either way the Germans get one less hit on the Allies (unhappily) and they end up with 1 less tank than in the original file.
Corrected file:

Germany Turn 7 Reinforcements Complete D-Day Game 29.tsvg
Since there were no more reinforcements left, I went through those phases. Since there was only 1 blockhouse left I did the naval bombardment as well.

ANZAC Turn 1 Complete Armies vs Navies.tsvg
Nice.
I made a bunch of edits this time, and I owe it to you to explain some of them:
- The British forgot an attack or two, and completely changed their purchase once they saw something they missed during the purchase units phase (noticed around noncombat move).
- More importantly, I did say that all neutrals, including strict neutrals, were pro-Armies (except Mongolia). That wasn’t the case with this map and I didn’t notice it until now. Sorry about that. I changed all those territories and their units (that’s why the US invaded Colombia). Obviously this would’ve led to a substantially different first turn for Germany and the Soviets, but we’ll just pretend that you would’ve went with those moves regardless. Is that okay? Thank you!

I was definitely lucky that the fighters didn’t hit so far. It would’ve been a disaster otherwise (I really, really need that artillery in those crucial first two turns of reinforcements to cover all those tanks that come at the beginning, and they’re so sporadic early on, I’m sure you understand).

I accidentally moved too many units into St. Lo after some were destroyed by strafes. Let me do the turn again (hard to correct).

Change German casualties if you want. As The Good Captain noted, in certain cases it’s better to take tanks rather than artillery (anti-aircraft capabilities).

For personal use only:
1 artillery from the American 19th Corps, the American 9th Infantry Division (3 infantry, 1 artillery), 1 artillery form the American 7th Corps, 1 artillery from the American 8th Corps, and 1 artillery from the American 5th Corps attacks Caen (dang, that’s a lot of corps-level artillery lying around), while the American 90th Infantry Division (3 infantry, 1 artillery) aids 2 artillery from the American 29th Infantry Division and 1 artillery and 1 tank from the British 50th Infantry Division (impressive, the latter four units, they’ve been fighting since the start of the game).

Yep, I only noticed the mistake at the beginning of turn 10 and was internally burning myself for not considering such as simple mistake (The Good Captain sure didn’t cover this elementary blunder in his videos), but I decided to just pretend as if I still had a chance of winning, and I knew the fighter wouldn’t have secured St. Lo.
Great game, you were a great opponent and certainly had me on edge in the midgame.

I give up. The Armies win.
I didn’t realize the facility in Spain as an air base. I thought it was a minor industrial complex. Guess I’m not familar with the new map icons enough.
Great game. You played brilliantly and helped add a lot of new ideas and strategies for this game. I’ll definitely learn from you.
I noticed another error in the map (in addition to the one I mentioned earlier about the sea zones between ANZAC and the Panama Canal/Central America):
The Mongolian territory Dzavhan looks like it is connected to Timguska, yet it actually isn’t on the original/actual board/map. The map’s code recognizes this and forces units to cros Olgiy or Yenisey to move into Timguska. However, as the Japanese on turn 7 I was unaware of this. This oversight in the map is one of the reasons why I decided not to continue the game.
I will have both sides be played by the AI to double check whether the Navies were truly doomed.
