Well, then we would have to come up with something bigger to “acquire” then the PS3…

BTW, console wise, I think nothing touches the PS3…

      ?

I have not ridden since I sold my Kawasaki KZ250 LTD after I got out of the military.

Now THERE was a way to get a little action (relating this to another thread).  Many is the time that I would give a ride to a cute little co-ed for a while, and then get a nice “thank you” as a result.  :-)

Yeah.  It’s been quite a while.

      It’s OK.

If you’re thinking about getting a starter package for your nephew, you should be prepared to play it with him.

Jen, it is not the solar storm itself that is the issue (though that could be ugly in and of itself).  But if the Van Allen belts have been scrambled by  polarity reversal, the energy of a major storm would hit in concentrated strings and points as it was refracted moving through the twisted belt.  You could potentially have effects like a microwave beam hitting different areas that could cause huge problems, most importantly in upsetting the normal heat/cold flow patterns of air and water.  That level of major instability in the atmosphere would create some hellacious storms could be of magnitudes not known in human history.

Along with it you add in massive electronic destruction, radio interruption, etc. so that communications and emergency response becomes problematic…

Look at the effects of El Nino and La Nina on weather.  That is one current in one area of the Pacific that disrupts “normal” temperature change and flow.  Now instead of El Nino, substitute one area of super heated water in say the Bearing Straits…

I always figured the Hobbit was a parallel of WW1 while the trilogy was a parallel of WW2. Tolkien fought in WW1, so he can be compared to Bilbo, while his family most certainly had some part in WW2 even though he didnt.

So what’s the deal? Ever thought you blew your vote on a politician (large or small scale)? Or ever get the shaft from a prop you thought was a worthwhile idea?

      I did.

Okay I haven’t check this thread in awhile. But is there concern that other nations would form a coalition against us because we drop “under god”?? Am I reading this right?? So we invade another nation and we are okay. But if we drop a couple of words and we are in trouble?? Are you kidding me?!?!?

Having said that, we are both in our 30’s. I really think the older you are, the more you know yourself and the less time it takes to know whether you are making the right decision.

I think you might have a point there. As you get older you start to see your life pass before you, and if you want something, you see that you have less and less time to get it.

No, you missed my point. My point is that when you are older you know who you are better than you did when you were younger. At 18, I was still growing up and I am not now the person I was then. It would certainly have been more difficult had I been married then as I was changing and still growing up at that time.

As far as less and less time to get what I want, well, I still think I have plenty of time to get everything I want (that I haven’t gotten yet  ).

I WAS different when I was 18… But I find that if you grow TOGETHER… then you always have your best friend to lean on as you run into lifes challenges and changes… birth, money, houses, cars, stress, children in school, college…etc… and then retirement.

The first time you travel outside the US, esp. to any of the Asian coutries or the UK, you will really hate cellphones then if the thought of someone talking on one during a flight upsets you. Anywhere you go in Ireland, be it train, bus or sitting at a cafe, someone is on their cell, with a two way in their hand texting to someone else. Coming from DC where it seems we all have a celly strapped to our face, this was overwhelming to me. Sitting on a bus for 15 minutes and every single person just talking away…at the coffee house…at the pub that night…at teh pub that morning…

My point is you just need to accept the fact that as technology grows it becomes more used, and the more it is used the more it becomes part of everyday life…when that happens you have to adjust. Sure it is the last thing you want to have happen on a 4 hour flight - Salesguy McGee wearing too much Polo whipping out his cell and talking way too loud about doing lunch, moving 400 units at a hot price and telling his buddy about his neighbors wife, but it is coming. I think if they allowed cell phones to be on but only for text and data messages, alot could be gained for the cell user that needed it, while saving teh sanity for those that didn’t want the conversations.

My dad said that he used to play BattleCry with his friends, and he said it was awesome. I guess going by his reccomendation, that BattleCry would be the one to check out. I’m going to see if I can get him to buy it for me, since he might play it. :)
