    • RE: Birth Control Price Hike: $$$ or More Abortions?

      I just have three things to say….

      1. Jen is far swazy right… moderate my a$$. But she is more polite about it nowadays. Not to mention she has made statements that even surpised me.

      2. Abortion is a godsend and a curse. You be the judge of where each fits.

      3. I guess political discussions are totally back on the table? And not just for the election thread?

      @balungaloaf:

      and second, why dont democrats get rid of bryd…… he’s the oldest democrat in congress and has used the n word a ton…and he was a GRANDDRAGON of the KKK…yeah, who else knew that…the leading democrat in congress ran the KKK…the media doesnt like people to know that.

      Many people DO know that, and yeah, I don’t have a clue of why he is still around. It’s baffling being as most minorities (blacks in particular) vote democrat.

      McCain is energetic and has a ton of charisma.  only damn rush limbaugh and hannity really dispise McCain, to bad they have millions of listeners.  but alas i usually agree with them on most things.  McCain has been running his campaing on lint and pennies in his pocket starting last summer.  give him some credit for that, he had the least amount of money out of all the runners of both parties.  at least it shows that the election is not for sale.

      I like McCain myself. Not for his stances but for his character. If he runs and Hillary is his opponent… it may be my first time to vote Republican ever.

      And think of it this way, bung. Democrats think Rush is an arrogant pill poppin’ douche-bag. Him not liking McCain could in the end help McCain.

      @balungaloaf:

      oh and ron paul is sunk now for good.  his writings from the early 90’s have come out, and they are racist as hell.  we should have known this b/c lately he had refused to return campaign contributions from groups such as the aryan nation.  he said that would be wrong b/c that would send a signal that one persons views are better than anothers when all views should be equal…. :roll:

      Well, in that case, we may as well can Trent Lott as well.

      Yeah, I don’t see Hillary winning either.

      @Jermofoot:

      You just need to read up on State primaries because you obviously don’t understand it.  Many states have moved theirs up in recent years.

      If I don’t understand it…. then why did you just state, nearly the same thing here?

      Also, California, NY, and Texas don’t use caucuses…… Iowa is basically a preview of what other states might do, and is the first to do it, so it gets a lot of attention.

      That’s my point. We can label it a “preview” yet if it was only that, candidates would not take it as seriously.

      Hell, have an Oregon caucus or a Arkansas one… I just don’t find it justified for other states is what I am saying if Iowa always gets to be the leader of the choosing. Oh sure, it may not have a direct effect on super tues… but it does carry an underlying one.

      @Cmdr:

      Yea, I’m rather miffed they moved Illinois’ primary date to Feb 5.  We are usually like the second to last state to have a primary, thus, no candidate even bothers to campaign here leaving us in relative peace and quite. :P

      Brought up another thing that pisses me off. What makes Iowa and NH so damn special?

      Other states gets the shaft by these guys. Ever seen California, NY or Texas caucus? NO. And we never will. It’s like these Iowans get to dictate who runs based on the winner’s headlines. Pure bullsh!t.

      Here is my hope and funny it’s something I find in common with the forum pessimist, Bung: I really hope it is Obama vs McCain. And if it happens that way, I will listen closely for I see potential in both of them.

    • RE: Presidential Election (as a current event- watch the tone or it's gone)

      I’m not sure if you read my post properly, Jen. I stated the war SHOULD be the central issue when thinking of a candidate.

      By that logic of thinking, the body counts “they do not mention” are acceptable.
      My thinking is that it isn’t. Our nation is still at war, whether you like it or not. And if Americans have bigger concerns with whether two people of the same sex are able to marry or “when can I expect to collect on my house” then it shows the now unpopular veterans that they are just a sideshow. And that is what I find disturbing.

      But this is getting off topic. The caucuses are ripe for a good candidate (on both sides) to be nominated. I won’t keep my hopes up on it. Been let down before.

      I understand what you are saying however, I don’t believe that other voters are thinking that. The high volume of complaints due to high gas prices, housing slumps, and tax hikes speak of the personal preference of the average voter.

      What you say about the economy related to the war is correct but it still doesn’t explain people’s priorities. Otherwise they would have said as much.

    • RE: Presidential Election (as a current event- watch the tone or it's gone)

      What I find to be disturbing is not the candidates and their messages but the voters and what they are prioritizing as what is most important. While we have TWO wars still going on, the people seem to be more interested in their personal lives with domestic issues and the nations economy. All polls are suggesting as much…

      To me, it is of most importance that our nation at war should be what we should be voting about. Not how to make our wallets thicker. It sickens me while we still got troops dying out there.

      As for preference on a candidate… I am indecisive. I’ve been leaning toward McCain. Not because I agree with him. Because when I see him, I believe him. Judging a person’s character far outweighs what a person “says” he or she will make happen if elected.
      God knows I hated Bush. But I lived through eight years of him and I am still alive and functioning in society. So whoever is next, I will still be able to do the same. That is why I stick with characteristics over record or intent.

      nice site. I got 80% of those already.

      I would like to hear some Japanese military music.

      The theme from Tora Tora Tora and Midway are quite good.

      Tora! Tora! Tora!

    • RE: The Dark Knight

      well, since I have only read the df edited reply, I’ll answer accordingly.  :wink:

      I agree that keaton did a fine job. Yet you are only referring to the original DC Batman’s. There were other comics which told a different version of Batman.

      Besides, do you enjoy movies like AVP? AVP started up in Dark Horse Comics and it is NOTHING like the movie. Should we rip the characters in that movie for not playing their part as they should have been played? No.

      It is just another artist’s rendition on how a cast should be on a film. Your opinion: Keaton is better. My opinion: Bale is better. I wonder what the opinion of the masses is. Could be either…. or it could be Val Kilmor.  :-P :lol: :-P :?

      @Cmdr:

      Eggs are in Easter because they are born twice like Jesus.  Once when they are laid, once when they hatch.  It’s a stretch, but no more so then the Moon being a sentient being. :P

      Lol

      think about it… Eggs were to symbolize the fertility of springtime.

      Might as well say stockings are hung on the wall to represent Jesus’ feet dangling from the cross.

    • Bleeding Eye

      Last winter, I learned a key lesson… or I thought I did. Lesson Number One, regarding winter rides on a cold night: Tires are very slick when cold. Don’t apply too much throttle.

      Tonight I failed at practicing such an easy precaution. And in turn I learned Lesson Number Two: Keep your visor down.

      When I lost it on the spin I over corrected and high sided. As I hit the ground, my face hits the frame of the rear view mirror. In my right eye to be exact.

      Sigh.

      The bike collects more scratches. Humph. And when I get to check out my mug in the mirror back home… a trickle of blood is seeping from the corner.

      I cried blood, my friends.

      No… I didn’t really cry. I just hate winter. And it’s practically worth crying over.
      :cry:
