@mainah You’re in a good position overall, the unexpected sea Lion didn’t cost you much compared to a typical one so I think you’ve got a good opportunity to win the game. We’ll see if I can be clever enough now to claw it back 😉

Btw I generally skip scrambles on 90-100% odds with net negative expected TUV, I usually try to post which scramble options there were afterwards in case you want me to reroll the battle or the turn with the scramble. I don’t think it has come up in our game yet but that’s the way most people seem to play here. Are you okay with that process?

@mikawagunichi Yeah seeing the first round roll live would have me clenched haha. It might have not been the best decision, but those small battles can be so swingy I thought it was worth a shot :)

@mainah Yeah, just keep in mind that TripleA allows carrier scrambles that PtV rules don’t. Defend adjacent SZs with just subs or transports or amphibious landings, found out a couple of these the hard way without being adequately inculcated to the specific cases

@mikawagunichi Yeah I didn’t think at that point you were going to shoot through Turkey to Iraq, I moved there to make it so you had to trade a couple territories and USSR is pulling in so much cash now I think it’s just a matter of time before the Allied machine rolls over Germany.

I was in a little shock still initially with losing UK I thought I had thrown away a winning game but the cost to Germany’s front with USSR was more than I expected. I think that’s where my strategy has paid off the best so far. (And being annoying to Japan in the East)

@VictoryFirst Thanks! I think my misplay in Russia was going after Norway and trying to hold Leningrad in hindsight. Especially since I had plenty as USA/UK to take Norway. Liking the map dynamics quite a bit though!

I’m traveling the next four days and will have some crunch at work when I return. I was going to just pause this but I have a work trip again Friday - Tuesday starting next week. Just going to focus on my league games until the first weekend in October. I’m thinking I’ll concede victory to the Axis on this one, great game! Once I get caught up, I’ll reach out and see if you want to play again.

@mikawagunichi Skipped scramble to 118 and decided after much thought to lose a bomber instead of a fighter in 101 so edited it during Place Units phase

@simon-tressel Some people prefer not to risk it unless the odds favor them, since you still get the AA shot as well. I’ve seen & had bombing runs where the attacking bomber shoots down the interceptor and the AA misses. When you have to roll 1s/2s there’s always a chance it goes quite wrong

@mikawagunichi Seems to be a router issue, although they have had some trouble with their ISP the last month too. I’ve taken other trips and its worked fine, so I don’t think it’s anything with the dice server itself.

It seems to be connecting better this evening so I am hopeful. I don’t have cell service out here or I’d hotspot my laptop…
