      Russia, man.  Since I started playing Classic, Russia goes to the newb.  Center of the action, forgiving because it’s huge, easy purchases, don’t have to learn naval units yet, straightforward strategy, roll fistfuls of dice.

      “Look, here, buy as many infantry as you can afford.  Hold off the Germans.  Keep your planes alive.  Stall the japs in Siberia.”

      Axis?  No way.

      @skinny1:

      I thought it had something to do with the Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote.

      Exactly… the Roadrunner (Japanese) is moving its units from Manchuria to Buryatia to escape Wile E. Coyote (Chinese) and suddenly an ACME wall (the OOB rule) comes up and prevents the Coyote to get the Roadrunner ;)

      Sounds like this could be a house rule?

      No, this is the actual rule (OOB meaning Out Of the Box): Chinese units cannot leave China in Axis 'n Allies Anniversary. But they are a minor power in that game.

      I was thinking the cartoon names but this is in AA42 forum, not AA50.

      we play with advantages on the 42 board, these advantages below created a game where German Subs where very effective and played a bigger role in the game.  we made our own collection from we found in house rules and from the previous A&A Revised game.
      we choose advantages by row…. Row 1
      Russia - Russian Winter • must declare During Combat Movement. Inf. Attack on 2 & Defend On 3 (In 1st Cycles) WINTER lasts till start of next Russia’s next turn) WINTER ONLY AFFECTS FOLLOWING TERRITORIES: Russia, Evenki N.O., Novosibirsk, Kazakh, Caucasus, W. Russia, Archangel, Belo Russia, Karelia
      Germany - UBoat interdiction • during collect income phase for UK and USA -1 IPC for every 2 subs Outside Of SZ 5 & 16
      Britain - Radar • Your Anti-Aircraft Guns In Tan Territories Hit Air Units On a 2.
      Japan - Tokyo Express • Each Of Your Destroyers May Act As A Transport For 1 Infantry (Follow Rules Of Transports) DD acting as Transports Retain Anti Sub Abilities & get 1 Att. role on 1st Cycle Only if combat occurs in SZ of amphibious assault
      USA - Island Bases • When Moving Air Units - US May Treat Island Groups As Part Of SZ’s Containing Them.  ie. Ftr Can Fly From Hawaii To E. Indies (If Owned)

      point is i think a good way to up the factors of certain units in the game is with a good set of advantages but they must be balanced as to not give any side to much of an advantage

      @Zenosco:

      Perhaps I am using a wrong set up, but how does ANZAC take Java, Dutch New Guina or Carolines on turn 1?  The transport they start with is 3 sea zones away from each of these areas?

      Thanks for explanation in advance.

      He said “using larry harris setup changes,” which include a naval base in New South Wales

      Roasted.

      Fried is good, but I can only eat so much before the greasiness takes its toll on my sense of well being. Roasted is better overall.

      If it’s greasy, nasty, fast-food-esque chicken, then you’re correct. If it’s tasty, delicious, juicy, homemade fried chicken, then your point is invalid!

      Good call.

      All Japan has to do is take Sumatra, then send a CV or two(with support ships) to the Red Sea, and now its an easy and fairly early transport of aircraft to Europe.

      @Dylan:

      Eastern Front.

      The Atlantic is a silent stalemate.
      The Pacific is long and never ends
      Africa is just blitzing until the Allies finally land
      Asia’s fun, but one sided.
      Eastern Front is good because your really in the battle and hurting the commies (and replacing it with nazi  :-D )
      North and Baltic SZ area is just really like only one attack.

      I agree.
      My favorite front is the eastern front because it is fun, and multiple turns.

      Awright guys, I think we can lay off dat wawawd cat.  Prollly he/she won’t be participating in a d***-size comparing contest for at least a little while.

      For my part, I’d say KGF is correct, with play against Japan IF JAPAN ALLOWS IT, which Japan probably should.

      Why I say KGF is “correct”?

      1.  Most cost-efficient units on attack and defense are ground units.
      2.  To get ground units into battle, UK and US need naval units.
      3.  To get naval units into battle against Germany or Japan, they must be built first; UK and US both have weaker navies than either Germany or Japan.
      4.  UK only has one industrial complex, close to Germany.  Building another early industrial complex near Japan costs IPCs, means a delay in production, and is limited to 2-3 units per turn (anywhere from Anglo-Egypt Sudan, South Africa, Australia, or India)
      5.  Japan’s starting navy/air force is bigger than Germany’s starting navy/air force
      6.  Japan’s outlying islands are far away from the action in Moscow; ground forces will need to be transported in closer, which means more naval/air battles.  In contrast, near Germany, units can be offloaded into Archangel, one step away from Moscow.

      What about Japan “allowing play against itself”?

      If Japan mostly ignores its outlying islands and withdraws its forces west to attack Asia / India / Africa, US can build a small fleet to mess with Japan’s outlying islands.  This will mean Japan either loses IPCs, or will have to pull some units back to stop the U.S.

      If Japan doesn’t ignore its outlying islands, that’s less pressure on Moscow.

      Either way, the Allies can see what Japan does and act accordingly.

      Chick-Fl-A also sells Ice Cream, Milkshakes, Salads, Combo Meals,etc. I have ate at McDonald’s before and I only like the McFlurries and Fries. Wendy’s is passable also but that may change to a dislike because of their new fries. Burger King is also passable, but CFA is my first choice. By the way, I am a regular at CFA.
