      Look over the stickied thread - they’re pretty much in there, but I haven’t heard anyone who’s 100% sure of every single NO down to the last detail.

      It’s sensible to treat the Bosporus as a canal since the gap is so narrow.

      But if they could get Turkey right then why stick with the silly placement of Suez between two tts when it should run through Egypt?

      EDIT: They didn’t get Turkey right, as it should have a border with Bulgaria.

      @Flashman:

      Can we assume, then, that the neutral infantry are a once only force and cannot be replaced when the power moves in to take control?

      Yes.

      @Flashman:

      What happens if there is a “wipeout” in the battle and all units eliminated?

      The same thing, except there will be no units for the allied power to claim.  You could always place an upside down control marker to indicate the territory’s status.

      @ksmckay:

      Ok, running out of ideas again.

      Using blank Sektor files the module works fine.

      Using Sektor files with something in them it crashes.

      Test 1
      Made a 4 quadrant SektorInfo.bmp file with black borders and then paint in each of the 4 quadrants with color 1, 2, 3, 4.

      converted the map file with b242map.exe  the text and Sek files are still empty.

      When I open the map and try to look at Sektor stuff the sektors are randomly distributed and have nothing to do with the SektorInfo.bmp or SektorInfo.map file.  And then it crashes eventually.  Can edit stuff using SektorEditor and it seems to save it but like I said the Sektors are random.

      Can you copy some files into a new folder and try to make a Simple sektor file and see if it works for you?

      Same as with the previous problem, maybe something in the software isnt working right and there is some missing step that isnt included anywhere.  Without going into the program I dont know how to solve this.

      send me a screenshot of the windows explorer window with all the relavent files in it, as well as the actual files and I’ll see if I notice anything, but I can’t spend too much time on it.

      @Stoney229:

      Suppose US controls Korea and sz6.  Can Japan make a combat move into sz6 including transports which, when the sz is clear, will load units from Japan and unload them on Korea for an amphibious assault?

      Nope. Transports are loaded during the Combat Move phase. Since you can’t load transports if the SZ is hostile it is impossible to move them to SZ6 and load them.

      @Funcioneta:

      Hi! Stoney, in one week or so, I’ll be free of exams, so I can end the work regarding to G40 module. I’ll probably have time to do also the E40 one. What do you think?

      I wonder if we should ask to Attila to solve the problem with the maximun powers to do convoy raid (I mean, AABattlemap engine issue) …

      @Commando:

      Stoney, yes. Whatever players are using to play A&A Europe 1940 and A&A Global online. That is the battlemap I’m looking for. For whatever reason, I’d followed the instructions and can’t get it to load. Can you walk me through the step by step process to get it installed? Thanks VERY much in advance!

      I’ve replied in the G40 module’s thread.

      @Krieghund:

      Yes, you must do it at the beginning of the Combat Move phase.

      So my understanding is “Declaring War” is a separate step in the turn sequence done before Combat Move, since it is not necessarily done in combination with any combat move but applies to all combat moves.  If the is true, this distinction would also keep a player from being able to decide whether or not to declare war (for the sake of convoy raids) after he/she sees the outcome of his combats with other powers (e.g. having retreated into convoy zone of a power with which one is not yet at war).  I’m guessing this is all true?  Thanks for your answers Krieg!

      PS- speaking of declaring war as it’s own step in the turn sequence reminds me of an episode of The Office (American) when Michael steps out into the office and shouts “I declare… BANKRUPTCY!”  :-D

      @Stoney229:

      How about if I create a new thread, which I will link to in the first post of this thread (and highlight the fact that the linked thread contains the most current module).  That way the first post of each thread can be as short-and-sweet as possible, and each thread has a distinct and dedicated topic.

      On a separate note (relating to an earlier discussion here), I’m thinking I will be naming the new module “Axis & Allies: Pacific 1940 v3.0”, and the directory P40.gim.  That way, anyone who wishes to keep using the original module only has to rename the original directory (to, for example, P4O.gim) before installing the new one.  Also, when I post updates, I will update the version number accordingly so people will know if their version is up-to-date or not.

      If anyone has any objections to either of these, feel free to let me know.  Thanks again!

      Sounds good to me, thank you.
      :-)

      U

      I think the Revised NA would be a better idea.  Yes, a lot of tweaking would have to be done, but it’s doable.

      I think a lot of the old NAs blend perfectly with the new game.  Here are some examples:

      1. Lend Lease lets USSR convert US and UK pieces to USSR pieces.  This means you won’t loose IPCs when your allies try to help you.

      2. Japan is now an “island” on the new board, which means Dug-In Defenders now apply.  Didn’t it seem dumb in AAR that Japanese infantry would put up a better fight on Iceland or Greenland than Japan?

      Examples of needed tweaks:

      1. Siberian Railway would obviously be extended to include the two new territories.

      2. The Atlantic Wall and Fortress Europe NA would be weakened if the wording “all gray territories” were kept as is.  At least it should be extended to “all gray and brown territories”.  Basically, German Infantry and Artillery get a bonus fighting in Italy, but Italian Infantry and Artillery don’t.  It seems paradoxical, but that’s the way it happened.  Germany fought to the teeth while Italy surrendered.

      I don’t think Italy should get a national “advantage.”  Really, was their anything special or unique about Italy in WWII to warrant a NA?  Personally, I think no NAs add to Italy’s character.  It’s small, poor, and has only 2 NOs.  Yet, it’s probably my favorite.  As the old saying goes, “Small is beautiful.”
