    • RE: Bob_A_Mickelson's AAG40 National Production/Objectives and Setup Charts

      @Tommietomaat:

      Political Situation Global:

      US:
      Not at war with anyone
      If not at war with japan, it cannot sent troops into chinese territor’s
      If not at war with italy/germany, it may not move ships into seazones adjacent to africa or europe (incl britain/scotland)
      If US has been declared upon or if japan attacks uk/anzac, US can declare on any or all axis powers at the beginning of the collect income phase or US can declare war on any axis power at the start of round 4 (whichever comes first)

      The U.S. can’t take the Dutch colonies until they were conquered by the Japanese.

      It is staying the way it is now.  As it can go either way and it looks cool the way it is….Im not concerned.

      If this was brought up a month ago, I could have changed it.

      I guess the Italians will be driving in four gears towards the enemy (with caution) and six gears in retreat (with haste)  :-D

      It’s not the end of the world.  You can fix it in the next run or sell these ones as novelty items for the Italians in retreat.

      Nice. We can make also British units “screaming like girls” swimming from Dunkirk. :-)

      It’s strange … only Italians run away or retreat in ww2? Bah…

      @cminke:

      an addational note: can you charpen the numbers beside the attack values(ie the 2 beside the attack for the tac bommer) i say this becaus it looks like a 1

      These are the low resolution versions. When I release the complete version they will be much sharper and crystal clear.

      @cminke:

      ru going to do a politacal sistation? and a NO chart?

      The complete set of aids will included both National Objectives and Diplomacy/Nation Specific rules (what you call ‘the political situation’) as well as a few other aids. However I cannot begin working on those aids until I get access to a rule book, which won’t be for some time.

      Hi Bob,
      i’m making a personal house rule modification with inttroduction of Hungary, Romania and the Mao Zedong’s People Liberation Army (Communist China). I have to modify the Chart and i’m asking your permission to use it. If yes what kind of font did you use? Dimension? I think to introduce new NO’s for the new Axis powers like Holding Bessarabia for Romania, and North Yugoslavia and Transylvania for Hungary, Shensi for Communist China.

    • RE: Question regarding Soviet Union (2 units in Novosibirsk) for the Global game?

      @Xhiggrank:

      Hi there, perhaps a dumb question, but under my understanding the 2 Novosibirsk units generated every turn are NOT present in the global game.  Let me know if I am incorrect.

      I see the generation of units mentioned in the political situation in Europe, but not in Global.

      It would also make sense because the units from Novosibirsk are represented by the 18 units in the far east.

      Is this the correct conclusion?

      Yes. I will add them in my personal House Rule, introducing two minor axis powers: Hungary and Romania.

      FMG,

      Any sneek peaks of the new dice, or will you be too crunched to put up the pre-orders to match the release of Europe 40?

      Sample pictures of the NEW COMBAT DICE are in another thread in this forum.

      EDIT: http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=16012.60

      Finally original italian units!

    • RE: Soviet minor industrial complex in Amur

      @Koningstiger:

      I was thinking this might be a good idea to build an minor IC here (or perhaps in one of the adjacent territories) to churn out some tanks and/or fighters to beef up the 18 infantry they have in the region. I’m assuming here it will take Germany a few turns to attack Russia (First they’ll have to deal with the French and with the British fleets, for instance and then again build up their forces, I suppose). By doing this the Russians almost force the japanese to attack them. What they use against the Russians they won’t use against the Chinese, British and Anzac in the Pacific theatre. With the addition of Russian troops in the far-East the Pacific theatre suddenly seems a lot more balanced than Pacific40 on its own, a game which of course is hooribly unbalanced in favour of the Japanese (starting with 387 aircraft or so and crushing China in two turns, India on turn 3…).

      Yeah, it’s a nice idea… building also an AA gun and 1\2 artillery and tanks… We have two different Japan from Anniversary and Global… in Global Japon will be besieged by US, URSS, China, ANZAC and Commonwealth… it’s hard time… in P40 also the game isn’t unbalanced … i play 3\4 games and Japan, after the initial run, will lose power… it can’t wrong a move.

      Is the navy or air force next?

      RAF next.

      Chad, I saw pictures of someone else’s painted pieces and he used these small decals which he ordered online from a company. They seemed very appropriate and very strong in terms of color…. would you, in your professional opinion, recommend usage of such decals for someone else painting a set? Do you know if they are generally durable enough? (The decals were national symbols and other related markers.) His thread is under the Anniversary Ed. SubForum.

      LHoffman,

      I used decals from I-94, I highly recommend them!   :-D

      Fantastic results here Allwork - truly splendid.

      Hi, what kind of decals did you use? 1/300th or 1/600th ?

      I think 1/300th are better 'cause they are 2,5 mm; 3 mm and 4 mm but i haven’t use them yet.

      Japan: At war with China. Can declare war on USSR and France with no consequences. Can declare war on UK/ANZAC/Dutch at will, but if UK/ANZAC didn’t declare war previously, this brings the US into the war

      Technically, an unprovoked declaration against UK/ANZAC doesn’t bring the US into the war immediately.  It allows the US to declare war on its next turn.

      What do you mean for the next turn? The turn sequence or the entire turn?

    • RE: No Soviet far East Fleet???

      @Seven_Patch:

      Hi everyone,

      Been reading these forums for the last 8 months and have enjoyed everyones input.  Big thanks to djensen and everyone who have provided previews and screenshots for Europe 1940.  I can barely wait another 2 weeks for this game to come out.

      Regarding the global peice setup I would have loved it if they added more than just 18 Russian infantry on the pac side and 1 ANZAC inf on the eur side.  I think it is really fun when other nations are represented on both sides of the world.  Of course as Bruda mentions, gameplay has to be a big consideration.

      My house rules might add a Russion Destroyer and Sub.  A cruiser might disturb things in the Pacific too much.  I’ll probably also add 1 french infantry in FIC.

      I also think that the Italians might be too over powered in Africa, maybe another ANZAC infantry and another UK INF in Alexandria or Egypt might even it out a little.  Obviously I may have a different opinion when I play the game.

      I agree with you. The UK fleet is little and vulnerable to first german and italian attacks. It lacks of another battleship (or cruiser) and 1\2 destroyers.

      Italian army is overpowered in land and underpowered in sea. At least another battleship or cruiser plus one destroyer and 1 sub, too many mech infantry…

    • RE: No Soviet far East Fleet???

      @Koningstiger:

      Title is self explanatory. In Pacific40, since the Non-aggression pact is considered to apply I understand it’s not there nor are any of the other Soviet troops. But why on earth not in global???

      Besides, since both games have " 40" in the title, I don’t really get why in the global version they claim it’s pre-non-aggression pact and in Pacific40 it suddenly applies……

      Soviet fleet, i think, is very small compared to Japanese one. By the way i think it’s fair to a cruiser and destroyer ( naval port?? In the far east we have Vladivostock as important city).

    • RE: Questions about US neutrality and Commonwealth response to Japanese decl. of war

      @Krieghund:

      Welcome, Stefano1189!

      While it’s not at war, the US may not move units into territories belonging to other powers, including the Dutch territories.  After it’s at war, it may occupy Dutch territories (move units there), but it may not take control of them unless it’s recapturing them from Japan.

      See the FAQ for more information.

      Thank you Krieg!

    • Questions about US neutrality and Commonwealth response to Japanese decl. of war

      Hi!
      i’m new here. I played 4 games with pacific and it’s a nice A&A game. My questions is about the US neutrality:

      1. The US land units can’t occupy and grab the ipc of DEI. In a game, my friend take in the first turn celebes with one US inf to catch the british NO. I read in this forum that’s not possibile because US can’t take DEI territories untile they are occupied by Japanese units; is it correct?

      Only the UK and Anzac can occupy the DEI territories while the US can’t, only in case they are occupied by Japan. I think it would be so, but i’m not sure.

      Thanks for your answers. :-)
