    • RE: Where to buy?

      hell no, allthough i have the whole set now and multiples of everything, NO! i am having to much fun with them for now. but for set 1 i have lots of tanks, butt loads of solders, an even larger butt load of MG and AT guns. i don’t like the Stewart so i thought i would sell all but 1 of them, making the total to be sold 28! i was going to sell some of my tigers too, but not for some crazy price, i got them in booster packs so i would sell them for a buck or two. I’m not sure if i want to do this yet, it is nice to see my table completely filled with little WWII minis. i have enough tanks that on my back dashboard of my car i have a little battle going on, a tiger 1 a SS panther 2 panzer IV’s and some solders going up against 4 sherman easy 8’s, 1 crusader, and lots of garand units. i know I’m a nerd, but its nice to see in the rear view mirror. :-D

    • RE: Type 2 Ka-Mi Amphibious Tank

      @General:

      Now, another point.  World War II would have been a lot less bloody had the warring powers used dice to decide battles instead of real bullets.  For instance, Rommel and Montgomery would meet at the center of the battlefield and throw dice on a small table…… never mind…

      yeah but patton would have thrown the dice in rommels face and shot him in the confussion :lol:

      the hide rule, i think would be better suited for senerio play, if its just a point game then dont bother, it would add time to an otherwise quick game.

    • RE: Transporting Artillery

      Horses were also used to transport cable repair men quickly (not the jim carrey type :roll:) This was a major deal. in stalengrade german snipers were told to shoot the horse before the man, men the ruskys had plenty, but not to many horses. but being able to fix radio lines fast was of major importance in stalingrade considering that on any givin black everyother building would have a different army in it.

      good stuff, im not religious in any aspect, and i think christmas is a made up hoiliday (because, and this goes with most major hoilidays, it is in the middle of the worst part of the year, i think people invented christmas to have something to look forward to in the middle of winter, otherwise people go nuts. i can elaborate on this later, but in my wierd head it makes sence.) even when i feel like this i think if someone wants to throw a hollow plastic baby jesus with a light bulb up his @$$ on thier front lawn, then more power to them.

    • RE: Firearms anyone????

      @ncscswitch:

      @Major:

      and thats wahat i am all about, acuracey.

      Agreed.  My favorite personal weapon is a 1930’s German mfg .22 bolt action single shot with iron sights.  Action is slick and smooth, never misfires, quiet, and accurate.  It is the weapon I learned to shoot with, Walnuts at 75 yards (side note on walnuts and .22 rounds… if you graze a walnut, it just rolls off the saw horse with a nick left in the green husk.  When you hit the nut inside the husk, it explodes :-)

      i dont really have to amny walnuts lying around, but this time of year i like to collect cans then fill them with water, leave them out side for the night then set them up on the range. if you havnt done this, try it, shooting a can with frozen water in it is quite excellent, a good explosion of icey shrapnel.

      your a fan of the japenses? my buddy has a japenese bolt action from WWII, very cool. it has the impierial flower as the back of the bolt. ill try to find out its name, maybe you have it or have heard of it. we always just call it the japenese a$$ kicker. one hell of a recoil on this. i dont know what kind of ammo it take, i know its about 3 bucks a shot. ill look into it though.

    • RE: What are the most effective units?

      @General:

        The Sturmpanzer assault gun is ridiculous!  Front armor 7 to go along with its disregard of cover makes one hide his soldiers far away.  I tried to flank it with T-70s, but lady luck was not on my side.

      i havnt seen the stat card for this one yet, what are the side arrmor points like? and how slow is it?

    • RE: Superior Armor Rules Help

      @General:

      And the unit’s stat card doesn’t say "must score beat defense by two successes to damage it."  It says "must beat defense by two successes to score two hits against it."  And again, that’s for each individual throw of the attack dice each faze.

      thats fiendishly tricky, i like it :evil:

      lots of horses im sure, the allies used thier bodies to make temporary road blocks. pretty effective to agansit most things, other than tanks, that would just be messy. :-P

      @General:

      1000 point games???

      You are crazy.  The map isn’t big enough!

      thats why me an my buddies made our own map, one that can be changed infinitely as it is the map area is 6ft long and 4 ft wide. it is a huge, really sturdy and heavy wooden table we built, that was the easy part, drawing in the hex’s was the hard part. but i let my artsy fartsy freind do that, did a good job to. we also made a crap load of terrian peices, diff colors for diff terrian. that way we can make a new map every time.

    • RE: Type 2 Ka-Mi Amphibious Tank

      @General:

      The real useless piece is the tankette.  You don’t really need reconnaissance in a game where you can see all the enemy pieces.

      this is where house rules come in, i think we should all attempt to make a house rule that allows us to hide our units, and too only reveil them to the enemy when they are in line of sight. if we each come up with an idea we could take the best parts of all of them and combine it for one good “hide” rule. or am i alone in thinking that would be a good idea?

    • RE: Transportation of commanders

      i would think so, a commander can command while standing in a Field cant he, so why not in a jeep or a half-track or anything. Patton did most of his best stuff yelling out of his jeep while hauling ass through a combat zone. good ole George.

      @djensen:

      The jeep is nice and cheap at 4 pts. You can put a bazooka on a jeep and use it to roll up the flank of a disrupted tank.

      i like to throw an engineer in a jeep, then go after a tank, good stuff!!

      they are pretty useless aganst the tanks, like shooting a bb gun at a frieght train. allthough if i had a tank chasing my i might shoot at it to. :-P

      panther good, panther cheap (well compared to the tiger anyways), panther powerful

      tiger amazing, tiger very very very expensive. this make tiger 1 both good and bad

      i have 7 tiger 1’s now, i only use them for huge games, things like 1000 pt games, nothing like having all 7 of them out there destroying my friends group of 28 Stuarts, he he he.

    • RE: Type 2 Ka-Mi Amphibious Tank

      i was in the amphibious assault vehicles section in the marines, those things have a good reason for being there. The stat card is wrong any ways, this thing carried troops, something like 6 i think. But one of the greatest reasons for having this thing was supplies. this thing could get you supplies no matter where you were in a hurry. i know that doesn’t mean much in this game, but in real combat, it dose.

    • RE: Double shot

      true, but that is still to close, the MG42 was a hell of a lot more powerful than any other MG in the war, it should have an impressive stat card, and it should also cost a lot more, 15-20 points at least, other wise it just wouldn’t be fare. or is it sopposed to be fare? UMMM
