    • RE: POLL: Most important Non-Combat moves in Turn 1 (AAR)

This poll and post is even more difficult to answer than the combat poll.  This one not only depends on prior combat, but also on the outcome of those combats.  Your planned NCM can be obsolete and/or foolhardy by the time it’s time to make it.

Like Switch says, the best laid plans last only until contact with the enemy. (paraphrased) :-D

    • RE: Crocodile Hunter dead at 44

It is truly a sad day for animal lovers and environmentalists worldwide.  How ironic that he didn’t die by one of the crocs for which  he was so famous.  Still, he died dealing with animal life, and that’s what he loved to do.

My condolences go to his wife and children.

    • RE: "Who-dey?!" from a sometimes Bengals fan…

      Jefe,

You should feel great compared to Dallas.  That’s my closest team, and we have to put up with TO’s c**p.  I can’t believe Jerry Jones gave that hot-air baloon of a man millions of dollars to fake an injury to skip practice!

He as much as told the media covering training camp that he didn’t need to practice.  If coach wanted to see him perform before gametime, he could look at 10 years worth of films.

As talented physically as TO is, his disruptive influence renders him useless to a team (accent on ‘team’).  He should have taken up a sport, where others didn’t need to depend on him.
He could go into track and be an excellent javalin catcher.  lol

      There!  I’ve vented.  Anyone else?

    • RE: Axis & Allies Enhanced Realism Rules…Opines???

That tank rule would put an end to one infantry unit blocking several attacking units by self-sacrifice!  Tanks would become much more valuable.

      Hawk,

Try holding right click and dragging the screen.  Instead of dragging unit icons, it should shift the map for you.

    • RE: All my stars in heaven…how stupid are people???

This discussion encompasses my wife’s pet peeve, people who don’t do their jobs.  She’s constantly frustrated at having to correct errors or follow up on delayed actions.

Sadly, it’s not just the lower echelon that needs attention.  It seems that people are indeed promoted to their highest level of incompetence.

    • RE: Kill America First?

      Aretaku,

In a word, “suicide”…America has too much economic power for Japan to be able to directly invade.  Any roundabout route, such as Alaska or Central America, would give them too much time to prepare militarily.

Without Japan’s invasion of Asia to deplete Russian IPC’s, England and Russia could at least hold their own against Germany.  They might even win, if England could set up a good shuck for reinforcements in Norway, Karalia, or Archangel.

Left alone, England could set up a stable and defensable IC in India and take control the Asian east coast, threatening Japan with invasion and/or SBR losses.

England could defend Africa with Russia’s help through Persia and TransJordan, because after a few skirmishes Germany would run short of infantry at the front, giving Russia time to build reinforcements with England’s aid.

Not a promising outlook for the Axis powers.

      Jen,

I agree with you.  That many 1’s consecutively is extremely unlikely, and strains the credibility of the system.  I don’t know much about frood, but I’m willing to learn, if it’s a better system.

    • RE: Blonde Jokes

What do you call the redhead walking between two blonds?

      The interpreter

Why did the blond terrorist give up trying to blow up busses?

She kept burning her lips on the exhaust

A blond caught her house on fire.  In hysterics she grabbed her cell phone and called 911 and asked for them to put out the fire.  The operator asked, " How do we get there?"  The blond answered, “Duh!  The big red truck!”

      Jennifer,

I’m with Gen Fox on this.  Nothing has changed from 2nd edition AA to Revised AA about transports in combat.

And, since you can pick the route, by all means pick the route with the least amount of hazards!  Sometimes those AA’s seem to have eyes (so to speak) and get a lot more hits than are warrented.

    • RE: IS it legal to talk to Axis or Allie partners before every TURN?

      PBEM=Play By E-Mail

And, yes, it is legal for partners to talk to one another.  There is no limit to the number of times, so you probably need to set a number of times or a time limit, if it bothers you.

Amen to that, Switch!  Faced at the outset with losing half your territory, having your fleet attacked every turn, and establishing a shuck for USSR…What a fun combo.  lol

    • RE: Need Strategy Help

I agree with Switch.  Germany should be able to handle UK w/o aid handily.  Japan can build its IPC’s in Asia/Aus, then attack North America.  Germany should be able to land in ECanada about the time Japan is ready to attack Alaska.  With the two pronged attack, Axis should have little problem with US.

With Axis already in possession of Russia, you should be able to win hands down.  GL

Hey, hey, let’s not rag too hard on the elderly.  I’m fast approaching the big 60.  No, it doesn’t seem possible, but it’s true.

    • RE: Amphibious Assault Question

      Sime,

Although the land units are “stuck in mud”, because they cannot access the transports again, the aircraft are not so limited.  Aircraft can flee the battle at the end of any round of dice (attack and defense).

      Hope this helps.
