    • RE: 12 sided dice

      @Imperious:

      To me the only use of a D12 system would be to introduce national unit values, which are more historical.

      So a German battleship will have different attributes than say an Italian.

      etc…

      Do you any stats for that idea?

    • RE: PT Boats

      Okay then how about that PT boats get no casualty zone, also if PT boats have no defense factor this seems to balance out

      @crusaderiv:

      I thought about that but PT boat is too small and didn’t any impact during the conflict.

      Actually the PT boat sank many larger enemy ships using stealthy torpedo attacks, it sank several destroyers and a few battleship in the pacific theater, along with causing a virtual hell for the japanese shipping lines, they also were very valuable for island defense.  IN the european theater they caused havoc in shipping but also sank many german cruisers and defended the landers and other larger bombardment ships during d-day.

      How about bombard is taken away and the Anti-air ability is changed to a tech, but I like the idea of only having an attack of 2 on opening fire, representing the element of surprise in the PT torpedo attacks.

      @Keredrex:

      it should not make a SZ hostile either

      I like this idea but I think the stats should be changed somewhat due to the power brought with the the torpedo tubes and other heavy cannons machine guns and mortors issued to the boats.
      The stats I think they should have are:
      attack 2  (I think the PT boats should be able to bombard small islands, islands contained within one SZ, hitting on a 1)
      defense 0 (all though to account for speed after enemy rolls if they hit the PT boat my roll, if they hit on a 1 then they can avoid the attack, also I think on the first round of fire each PT boat may fire one anti-aircraft volley)
      move 2
      cost 3

    • PT Boats

      Hey everyone, I just saw a cool documentary on PT Boats during WWII, and I thought it would be cool if they were added into Axis and Allies as a new house rules unit, anyone have any ideas how these units would work or where to get the sculpts?

    • RE: Event cards

      I do not like the event cards idea very much, it makes the game to random and disrupts tactics that have already been set up :-(

    • RE: Making Airbases Required for Flight/Landing

      I love this idea :-D, it is very accurate historic wise and also adds a lot of new tactics and limitations to the game :-), I endorse the upgrading idea mentioned by the guy who posted before me and would like to hear his stats and such  8-)but I battle tested this rule yesterday :-) and it worked great, I will be using this rule from now on for sure  :-D :mrgreen:

      I like some of  the concepts but the whole idea seems kind of complicated :|, remember, KISS.  :-)

    • RE: New game entirely

      @kbudm:

      So my friends and I wanted to branch out from the WWII theme and sort of create our own version of this game. We decided on the time period of either the American Civil or Revolutionary War because we think it would be very unique and fun to play.  We’ll of course have to create a new game board and figures and the such, so this won’t be something that happens overnight lol.

      I would suggest using Japanese artillery and infantry pieces for cannons and elite infantry (infantry with bayonets) and then using one of the other nations, perhaps the UK for the normal infantry (infantry without bayonets), also if you do civil war you will have to account for rifled barrels on muskets and cannons, possibly as tech.  Unit colors would have to be red for the British (Revolution), Blue for the Union (Civil war), blue for the patriots (Revolution), Grey for the confederates (Civil war), and some other color a lighter shade of blue perhaps for the French (American Revolution), other units you would need to account for would be spies, calvery, ironclads (Civil), and other warships. :-D hope this helps, if you come up with a rule set and map please share, sounds very cool!
