      do how does the rolling go for reinforcements? I know the allies get 1 a piece and germany 2. 1 for chartes and renne. and the other side. so lets say as germany for my left handed column i roll a 1 and for my other one i get a 4. how do i know which units to bring in? do i count the amount of units starting fromt he first? the card seems rather confusing.

      I’m a huge player of the axis and allies but I’m not clear on the new rules of D-day. like for example. which country goes first? when should I flip the order cards? How do i know which reinforcements i get when rolling? some of these details are kind of skipped in the instruction manual or maybe im not reading ti right. so please any help would be appreciated.

      @Jennifer:

      @newpaintbrush:

      Best game as Germany was in the old version.  The Allies were kicking my a** (there wasn’t any bid used), and they were pressing in on Germany.  So I went for tech (there really wasn’t much choice; I needed 2 IPC infantry or heavy bombers), and I got heavy bombers.  W00t.

      I still lost, but it was a lot of fun.

      2 IPC infantry rocked!  Especially as Russia!  Suddenly Russia’s not spitting out 8 infantry a round, but more like 12 infantry a round!

      Anyone know why the had taken out industrial technology?

      @Jennifer:

      Who says America will counter?  Why would you?  Unless of course you had a good shot of sinking a battleship and carrier because you got stellar dice on the defense.

      Nah, only a fool would counter pearl when you’re more then capable of just moving into the Atlantic.  Even if you decide to go KJF, why go back to Pearl?  better to build the fleet in LA and then move out.

      If you don’t counter whos to say japan doesn’t adjust the strategy to go for the US while they are occupied reinforcing europe? it’ll atleast force them on a two front war which most people find is ridiculous.

      @Nukchebi0:

      @Jennifer:

      I have no problem adding in Cover Air Patrol to shoot down bombers, but it adds more rules to the game, not less.  I was aiming at less.

      But we could say max damage of 50% of max production by a capital or 100% of max production of another territory not to exceed 25% of a nations total income per game round.  If that’s better then doing away with it entirely.

      But it is strategy game. It needs to have many vague, complex rules. Just kidding, though I think it would enhance the game enough. I like the 25% idea, also.

      I could second that. I think what they were aiming for in the revised was to nerf heavy bombers beacause of the 3die down to 2. and only being able to destroy the territorys net worth of IPC’s. so yes. The idea of only being able to bomb germany or UK to lose 8-10 IPC per turn is fair. because if you cant produce units. your literally getting gang banged. maybe even change the heavy boimbing rule to 2 die on attack and only 1 die for SBR. it’ll reduce the huge amount of cash loss while keeping the HB a very important unit.

      Also, with respect to SBR, it takes up too much time.  Also it can get extreme after a while.  6 Allied Bombers can equal =32 IPC from Germany every round.  And for some reason that AA gun never hits when you’re the one being SBRed.

      Much easier to just reduce the cost of the unit, simplify the game and take SBR out.  (LL basically killed SBR as well…you do 3 dmg, you take 3dmg.)

      I understand your point of when the allies can afford the bombers but you must understand in WWII  bombers did target factories. if a new rule could be introduced to nerf bombers than maybe it would be better or maybe a rule of no more than 12 ipc to a nation. I know if you get bombed by 6 bombers its going to hurt. big time

      @Jennifer:

      And, I think, Switch just illistrated the fundamental flaw in the game.  How many times a year do YOU pay your income taxes?  Why should a nation get 100% of a year’s income off a territory by holding it for a month or two before it’s liberated by the other side?

      I really think Mr. Harris needs to address this in Axis and Allies Revised 2nd Edition.  Once per cycle you should collect your income and it should come before any other actions.  Meanwhile, SBR’s would just push you negative until you collect income.  Though, I’m also for reducing the cost on bombers to 10 IPC and doing away with SBRs and dropping their defense to 0 or something.

      Best: Russia
      Worst: UK

      and for the quote. I would deffinetly not get rid of SBR. you have the potential to knock off 6 IPC without putting your bomber in to much danger. it is the cost of 2 infantry. or 1 tank. either 2d6 at 2 or less or 1d6 at 3 or less. opposed to one shot of the AA at 1. reducing the defense to 0 would be acceptable but to what end? maybe costing 13 IPC for the bomber? maybe 12? because 10 is WAY to inexpensive for this. especially after heavy bomb upgrade. (which  amazing with SBR).

      @General_D.Fox:

      Can anyone post a link here showing a Germany game they’ve played where they’ve won.  I’m on a nice big losing streak, so i’m curious to see how other players play Germany?

      Almost any of mine that are posted here where I play the Axis you are likely to see a winning Germany :-)

      @ncscswitch:

      There are onliune dice programs.  DAAK and Frood are the most popular here.  But AAMC and Flames of Europe are also options.

      Check the top of these threads for “Revised Diceys”

      As for using a board.  You can do that (which is what I do), and there are also 2 programs you can use for PC based game boards.  ABattlemap is the most popular, and I think you can also use TripleA as a mapping program (which you can also use for direct play gaming)

    • Your best games as Germany?

      Hey, new to the site and to the A&A revised. Played the old version like 3 years ago back in high school and i admit i was addicted. Couldn’t find it untill recently finally ran itno it in a hobby shop. I personally L-o-v-e Germany. They start right in the middle of the fray with a formidible force. I was posting this just to check out the forums and what not and to see who might have had the best Axis victory using the german force.

      Mine would have to be the first game i bought that bad boy. My japan counterpart was really bad. almost clueless to the game, the UK, russia and US controled by two of my friends i played with in high school so they had the idea of what was going on. So the game starts and I just start a relentless tank barrage on russia forcing him on his heels. The UK wasn’t supporting russia with transported troops so you think taking him out was rather easy wrong. My japan partner lost his naval fleet and just fortified japan. leaving me out to dry. By this time the US was crushing any transports he would try to put on the board. the UK had a stack of troops on london and I was controling europe + russia. an opening presented itself maybe 3 hours into the game when the US turned a blind eye to eastern US and my battle ships (2) with my transports (4) were in a sea zone within movement range of the US and the UK. they both thought the UK was under an amphibious assault and they openly let me know this so i grabbed my chance and rolled over on the US single handedly winning more than 60% of the game for my side.
