      that s what I was saying since my first day here in forums. but people either dont read or dont believe / try what s written. sad to see noobs still advocating some other ger openings (unnecessary romania fac, waiting till g3 or g4, building subs etc etc) are better for barb.

      This is easy to foresee with japan especially since most of you silly pandas do some J2 DOW stuff. Just buy bombers J2. don’t dow at all. bomb the russians G6 russia is done.

      no japs dow means super fortress egy with allies outproducing axis, sure axis will have a positional advantage but cracking egy might turn into a nightmare nevertheless.

      j1 dow means egy fac on uk1, turning egy again into a fortress. the advantage compared to no dow is forcing usa spend much more in pac and axis will be on same level with allies regarding production

      j2 dow is almost the same as j1 dow, but without an egy fac. so the usual j2 dow with going for india is still the most solid opening imho. sure u ll be getting moscow 3 rounds later but it will mean instant gg.

      Invest with what fleet lol? UK fleet should be gone turn 1. Its not that hard to sink it. Just use fighters and fleet correctly. And if you want to annoy the UK take Scotland turn 2. But build armor for Russia. 1 tech token and 4 armor…best German 1 build I have found for Alpha 3. You are not going to be able to pull off Sealion unless the UK is stupid and even if you pull it off you bring USA into the war a turn early for which Japan is not thankful to you. You won’t normally be able to hold the UK and build enough for Russia, depending on turn 1 USA builds. If they think you are going to sealion you can bet they are going to build to counter turn 1.

      I have said this before and I will say it again. If France doesn’t fall and the UK has fleet left you can pretty much call the game turn 1. It digs Germany into a huge hole they have a hard time recovering from.

      sigh those transports plus ac built in g1 is not for sealion it s for reinforcing barbarossa… with that build u can stack novgorod in g3 - fastest way to make money from barb with ger.

      meant uk can invest in middle east (factories + newly purchased land/naval units), ofc ger should hit uk navy in g1 that s a no brainer.

      taking scotland on turn2 doesnt help barbarossa at all.

      slightly off topic, usa is already in war in 2nd round max if u want to threaten a pac win, so sealion doesnt interfere with that.

      if allies think ger s going for sealion and build to counter it, that s all the better for axis, since it means barbarossa will be much stronger, because allies built against sealion, not barb.

      j1 dow means uk can put egy fac in uk1, and persia fac soon after.

      so a j1 dow is better utilized for a pac win instead of an euro one.

      Cow - Just wait for that J1 DOW and let Germany do its thing.  Its more interesting with the ��� fleet moving through the Suez and into the Med after forcing Calcutta to play turtle and skipping over it instead of sacrificing Aircraft to it.

      Not much the Allies can do with Egypt falling the same round Moscow does and a impressive ��� Fleet moving into the Med to defend Italy while Germany secures that final VC.

      j1 dow means uk can put egyfac in uk1.

      so usually this scenario u described becomes not too likely to happen.

      just to give an overall - and very brief assessment:

      g1 sucks since than usa can go full bmbrs and uk can drop egy fac in uk1. means basically gg

      by going g2 u can both feign sealion, opening med for ita and stack novgorod 100% on g3.

      g3 is similar to g2 with only major exception being ger slower than a g2 by 1 round.

      g4 is letting allies outproduce axis for too long and giving too much time to uk and usa to take proper positions. similar to g1 it basically means gg.

      so for barb, a g2 dow is usually the most optimal one.

      cant give u a link, cause my posts get flagged as spam when I post a link. just search google for triplea total world war and click the first result.

      engine wise it is the best map I ve seen so far (played more than 100 maps so far - just saying to give an impression).
      large, but not a huge map with unique terrain&bonuses, different tech trees, many buildings which enable different units/abilities, many units with different specializations etc etc. can be seen as hearts of iron (paradox entertainment game) meets axis&allies. also uses 12 side dice instead of 6.

      just be sure to dl and read the rich manual first, before playing the game.

      this rule needs an errata, 1 destroyer stoping a giant fleet is redonkulous, especially for aa50 - one cannot do sea lion before taking karelia.

      that s where ita air kicks in. actually not only in aa50 but in most maps including global ita air can clear naval blockers for ger, making “drop a ship to prevent 20 guys landing strategy” almost impossible for allies if ita sees the threat and moves planes accordingly.

      Are there any starts that favor the axis in alpha 3 in a long game? Time usually favors the allies but are there exceptions to this rule with a strategy or a game you’ve seen? Thanks!

      search through the forum there are some nice threads / explanations written by veterans.
      too many low-mid lvl plyrs thinking themselves as pros, giving bad advices.
      so some quick ways on how to eliminate all those comments and pick what s relatively good:

      -check if the moves were analyzyd in depth. noobs usually say do this do that but dont say why or more importantly, how, whereas pros tend to explain every move, including possible counters, in detail.

      -check the games the big advice giver is playing (if avalaible in forum). seeing a guy who claims to be the best plyr ever make stupid mistakes and lose his game(s) can arouse general doubts about him :)

      -check the style the advice is given. a tactic used in a certain position can be a sure game winner, but the same move can be a really bad idea in under other conditions. so if our nice advice giver is describing the board he prolly knows his business.

      What happens if London falls, are all there territories up for graps ? Can USA pick em up and get IPC ? Or do a axis power need to take em first ? And what if some british troops takes some back will India get the income ? If its on europe map ?

      for allies to conquer territories originally belonging to uk, the territories have to be conquered by axis first.
      india can gain income only from preset territories ie pac side of map +west india -north america

      mongolia is only triggered if the Japanese attack any Soviet territory that is adjacent to any Mongolian territory.

      soulfein will pull his air if usa is not aggressive again. srsly, take malaya with usa and sumatra with anzac. block with a dd. malaya is 3 uk pac and 5 anzac national objective.

      sz 75 gets to union africa = you have a very bad day.

      nah uk has a 88% with 3 units remaining on sz75
