@axis-dominion:
yes I agree with your assessment…gibraltar was key for me, key to keeping you divided and therefore weaker. had your fleets combined up, it would’ve been very tough for the allies to make any progress in the atlantic whatsoever. i also felt you built way too many inf! with germany, had you built mechs and tanks to gain more mobility, and with italy too, considering all that income you had, you would’ve had options to flank the russians. instead, the russians had that greater mobility, which was just plain awesome to see. finally, you could’ve definitely put up greater resistance in the pacific, instead of just stacking inf in tokyo and turtling up. with the smaller home fleet you had, instead of hanging out in egypt, you could’ve retaken islands and weakened or even threatened anzac and uk pacific.
for a while russia was strong and i felt i was winning (as i usually do when in a sea lion situation), but when you were convoying america (which was a critical mistake i made for allowing you to do that) and the combined italio-german defense was pushing the russians back, i felt my advantage was quickly slipping and felt the game was going to be over, but it’s the things you pointed out and that i’m pointing out here that allowed me to regain the advantage and finalize the deal
good game and very fun (and funny) game for sure. i’m down for another game if you’d like (i’ll try not to blunder this time ;)
I want proper internet first again. I have to divide my spare internet between current games. 2 of which will end soon. 1 I probably be forced to concede and 2 more that I have doubts whether they can be finished before the end of the league and probably should be conceded as well (I like to start with a clean slate, ak no wins/losses from a previous league season). Once I have proper internet again, you will be the first on my list for a new game. I have enjoyed this game very much and sadly the points you pointed out and the ones I pointed out have resulted in me losing. Tho Gibraltar was most definitely key. Italy was a major force up until then.
