      @Gamerman01:

      Try again a couple months after the playoffs start.  It looks like I’ll be working on the house ruled game again, and actually play-testing it myself for the first time

      Sorry for your disappointment so far

      I am not that disappointed and I get that not everybody has time to test these things or has other things to do. I think it is a shame tho that not that many players have been willing to test the house rules. I mean players like Karl and MrRoboto would make ideal testers. They can finish a game rather fast and are both decent players. So I was a bit surprised that the house rule version wasn’t finished yet.

      As for my bad start in the league. It was my own damn fault for trying to play to many games at the same time. Well to many for me anyways. It is my belief that if you start out, it would be best to focus your energy at one game at a time as you will almost always play against players who have more routine then you do and thus will make certain choices easier and faster. If you want to maintain the same speed, then you need to focus more of your time and energy on a single game…

      @Gamerman01:

      Players can play any style of game, in the play boardgames section of the site.  Team games are a blast, but we don’t have a team league because of what you just (very concisely) said.

      You can always play any kind of game with anyone you want, just might have to do it in the play boardgames section.

      I would be happy to moderate your game in the play boardgames section as well, if you have a disagreement and need mediation, so you’re not even giving that up.  Only thing you don’t get is your game counting on an official record.  If you’re playing to have a fun game, you don’t care about that anyway.

      I do care about rankings, but my ranking got messed up at the very beginning. So I decided to leave and come back again at a later time.  I also hoped that the house league version was ready by then. When I noticed it wasn’t even close, I decided to come back sooner to help speed up by doing some more testing. But as it is, testing is still slow. And the game needs more testers to boot anyways.

      @Soulblighter:

      I am looking for a player who wants to play and test the house league rule version with me.

      I’m intrigued.  This is the first I’ve heard of it - I’ve been under a rock lately.  Is there a condensed rules book and game file I can check out?

      I’m interested @Soulblighter:

      I am looking for a player who wants to play and test the house league rule version with me.

      Once you read the file gamerman posted, if you still want to play, we can set a game up. Then it all depends if you want to go first or not. I am guessing it would be easier for me to go first as I already played it. Then again I probably should help you out as much as possible…

      @Cmdr:

      In my mind, turning down game isn’t the same as saying “later” or “not now.”

      Anyway, post#1 is a copy of the current rules, just to specify.  A reference for anyone who wants to propose a change.

      What about team games, like if 4 people want to do a 2 on 2 game?

      Should we permit that, or should we bar such games?  I would say we could permit it, since both sides have equal players they can just share the points for a win/loss (add and divide by two for each winner.)

      The solution for team games is simple. If enough players want to play teamgames, then make a separate league dedicated to just that.

      @Mallery29:

      How about sweetening the pot for those Tier 1 guys?  Us Tier 4 low lifes only get a chance to play a small percentage of the top dogs because we’re fodder…rightfully so. I will say those who have ran me over I greatly appreciate the lesson…I think I’ve learned a little about some things…(not saying the tier 2,3, and 4s haven’t done their teachings as well).

      But I’m looking to get a way to get these guys to play…If they play us with no bid as the Allies or give us a super bid of +20 or so, shouldn’t that be worth some thing to them as well? Maybe an extra Point?

      Give us plankton a chance!  8-)

      plankton is tier 3 :P

      I want an official rule that if you dislike a bid, that you can opt out as Axis. For example as an Axis I dislike bids that include anything other then infantry/artillery/transports or as an exception a bomber for the Russians.

      @Gamerman01:

      And then there’s big attacks by Germans on Russians - Moscow or earlier.  If the Germans can be assured of winning when they have 60-70% odds or whatever, that is a HUGE advantage for the Axis.

      LL bid for Allies should be much higher than 12.

      If the house rule version of the game was finished by now, then we wouldn’t even have this discussion:lol:

      Shin Ji and I believe the current VC setup in the Pacific is to much in the favor of Japan. So it needs looking at. Also Shin Ji wants to play some league games.

      So if you want more testing done, then you need more play testers.

      @Shin:

      Oh yes.  Missing Java was a mistake both of us made.

      Now I’m famously bad with Japan - but someone who had any skill at it would win every single time under this ruleset.  The Allies are forced to put as much resources into Asia as possible right from the start.

      I’m not terribly interested in playing with this ruleset much more.  I’m going to message back some of the people waiting for a League game from me for now.

      Thanks again for the games - you’re a great opponent.

      I am inclined to agree. US needs to put many resources in Pacific to begin with. Both under the old rules and under the new ones. The main issue is that the current VC´s might not be ideal for the new setup.

      True. I am kinda wondering if we need to change anything after playing these two games. Did you notice anything that we should look at in further detail? I like the way UK Pacific works now. But to be honest I think the mistake you made was that you didn’t block my access from Java. If you had done that, you would have won. Which makes me believe that the current vcs may be an issue, but that would require extensive testing by more then just us.

      We could play a game now with me as axis tho.
