    • RE: Incorporation of pieces into other games

Thank you very much. As far as what u have said, I don’t really mind if the colors aren’t totally compatible, but I like you’re ideas about the axis minor block and same with the allies. My question is how do u play them? Do that hav separate turns, can they produce units , etc etc. but thanks for the comment and I appreciate the ideas.

    • Incorporation of pieces into other games

      Hey guys,

So earlier today I was playing a game of 1914 against myself and I noticed a few things. One is that there are 8 factions in both 1914 and global. Second is that many of the color schemes are the same. Earlier I have used pieces from 1941 in global and 1942 to make new unit like armored transports, torpedo bombers( useless when I got 1940) and armored cruisers. I was also thinking that you could use pieces from 1914 in global, but not sure How  yet. Any thoughts? I was thinking about a mine sweeper for a house rule where naval yards allow mine fields, but I’d love to hear from u guys. Please feel free to add or fix anything I have. Thanks.

    • US Invasion of Spain

While playing a game against the horrible AI of triple a, I had an idea that had severe pros and cons. What if, immediately following entry into the war, the US amphibiously landed into Spain? The Cons are more noticeable. Historically makes no sense, turns many neutrals pro Axis, etc etc. But the pros are just as evident, and arguably greater. The Allied foothold in Mainland Western Europe via Spain would be much more logistical, based on the fact that the time to get US troops into Europe would only take 1 turn. This would also limit the amount of transports bought buy the US to ferry the mass quantities of supply. Another bonus is the fact that many more troops would have to be diverted from other Axis fronts to defend this new front. Italy is much more accessible, as well as Paris and in turn, Berlin itself. But for those gamers who believe that during the actual war, the US would never have attacked a neutral power, think back to when Franco was supported just 3 years earlier by Axis Forces, and Spain could’ve been persuaded to join the Axis side. In this viewpoint, I think a possible invasion of Spain is justified. Fell free to respond, and PLEASE CRITIQUE IF YOU WANT! This is a fun forum for people to discuss the game, and how to mix it up, so I enjoy what you guys have to say!

      Thanks in advance,

    • RE: G40 Trans Siberian Railroad

    • G40 Trans Siberian Railroad

This may have already been stated in a previous forum, so sorry if it was. I was just watching “World War 2 In Color”, my favorite tv show about the war, and I was thinking about how vital the railroad was. During the winter after Germany just missed hitting Moscow, troops were shipped from Siberia to Moscow that were vital to the city’s protection. so, my idea is…

      Trans Siberian RR;

      1)    Exists along Russia to Samara, Samara to Novosibirsk, Novosibirsk to Timguska, Timguska to Yenisey, Yenisey to Yakut SSR, SSR to Buryatia, Buryatia to Amur, Amur to Siberia, Siberia to Soviet Far East, where Vladivostok is located.

      1. Each ground unit moving along this path will receive +1 movement. Ex; inf -> 2, mech -> 3, etc

      2. An NO for the USSR will be added for “+2 if Railway is completely unobstructed” for “access to resources”

      3. if any one territory is occupied by axis, the railway is blocked and cannot be used.

Feel free to post comments and yet again sorry if this was already posted.

    • RE: Bezerk Russian Strategy

I did not. Austria sent half of his troops from Budapest (if I remember correctly) to attack it. I didnt send reinforcements and Austria won a2, but lost quite a bit of inf in the process. Serbia, however, scored NO hits against him, which ticked me off, but, they started it so oh well haha.

    • Bezerk Russian Strategy

Over the weekend I came up with a totally fun and extremely crazy idea for how to play Russia. Note, this strategy is only useful if and only if the Russian revo is not in play or modified. While playing I; on Turn 1 as Russia, attacked Prussia with my polish forces, attacked Mesopotamia with sevastapol, and withdrew all other armies to Finland, Karelia, Moscow, Tatarstan, and Kazakhstan. My 2 attacks bought me time, and as I waited for the CP steam roller, every turn with my 12 ipc’s, I built 3 art. by turn 4, Germany was waiting outside Moscow with about 18 inf, 6 art and 2 fighters. AH had 12inf, 4 art, and 1 fighter. This strategy GREATLY helped france. Germany realized the massive size of my army in Moscow, and was forced to send more troops. this, in turn, left france with less men to face, and a counter attack that reached as far as Ruhr. on my front, the german army and I were in a bloody stalemate, with Germany (having long supply lines) soaking up much of its economy to hold on to Belarus. finally, I had to retreat out of Belarus, but Germany was never capable of an assault on Moscow. Austria"s only gains were tatarstan and Kazakhstan, but had little to offer due to the war with Italy. the ottomans got sevastapol, but were crushed by GB. It was actually a very fun strategy, considering just a stockpile. Every once in a while id buy a sub or two, sneaking in an attack on the german navy. please feel free to respond, critique, or just comment on this. id like to know any other fun strategies people have come up with.

Thanks a ton. Yes, that is what I thought because under the opposing logic you couldnt build an ic in Scotland. I will now build one though and roll ANZAC!

      Thanks,

Hey quick question for everyone, Im just a bit confused about ANZAC. Can you build an ic in queensland? Yes, Australia is an island, but it seems like you should b/c Australia isn’t all 1 territory and its worth 2. if someone could answer that id be very thankful.

      Thanks,

    • RE: New player

can any 1 post a link to where I can find new unit descriptions in the game like mech inf and tact bombers etc., that’d be helpful. Also if some one could post how kikazes work and what naval and air bases do that would be good. Thanks.

    • Post your Game summaries here

Hey guys i came up with an idea. Since I’m new at this game I thought I would create a place where every one can post a game summary of games that they played. This way other players can read and post summaries and learn to incorporate some ideas into there games.

    • RE: Italy Strategy

I agree. I’m playing spring 1942 with my dad. Yes, Italy is not in this game but I thought it was relevant because my dad was playing as the axis but wasn’t as offensive to start. He is paying the price now because the allied economies are overpowering the axis forces. It’s also kind of funny because he is color blind so I have to keep telling him who is who. But the morale of all of this is that if the axis don’t attack early they put the self in a big whole. Any thoughts about amphib landings behind Brit lines in Africa to cause them to divert troops? I know they will most likely be over run but do you think the reward is greater because Anglo Egyptian forces can’t just camp in Cairo and draw a high casualty attack?

Thank you. What I was thinking was to do everything like you said, but maybe send 3 axis subs off Gibraltar to make the allies think twice about heading there early. Thoughts?
