    • RE: What are you reading

The Eastern Front is a good one, ill look for the version/author is interested. Also, I love the Uniforms/Ranks of WWII.

Im not currently reading it, as I already have, but “A Bridge too far” is great, read it in Jr High, unfortunately for me that was 25+ years ago lool.

    • RE: Medals for A&A countries

Thanks for the reply, I don’t want to print a pic, but im inlaying the piece into the wood. Since I already had a german iron cross first class on hand, I already made a mold and casted a piece (not going to use the authentic piece on my lid lol, the medal is worth 350-400 bucks :) ). Ill have the German box done tomorrow/sat, ill post a pic of what im doing :)

I will go to Wikipedia and browse around though, thanks!

ANZAC is taken are of now too :)

I may have Russia as well, I found the piece I like, and specs are good, but its 250, in all honestly, for this project I don’t need authentic, but then again, I would like to have it!!

Thanks John! I noticed about everyone who paints Italy adds the stripes, we all must find the only pic of an Italian Battleship on the net for a ref lol.

    • Medals for A&A countries

Hey there, im looking for info about medals awarded in the countries used in AAA, I have a project im doing for my piece trays, and im looking for medals that are approx. 2" in dia.

I already have an Iron Cross, which I just made a mold to cast a piece for my box, but any info for other countries would be helpful.

I see medals all over ebay, but getting a size is another task in itself, if you have access to a medal, please post the medal/rough dia. Ill be looking myself as well for other refs and whatnot.

Also willing to buy if dia is right, but a point in the right direction to buy one is also welcomed.

      Thanks.

      Italy was the winner :)

I really like the Italian units, I actually didn’t replace anything. I had to mod a few of the ships to allow decal placement, but other then that, they were good to go!

I went with the desert scheme since Russia is green, we don’t want green vs green lol.

Ill have Germany up this weekend, then ill make a video with the setup and do some fly overs, really see the pieces in action.

95 pieces for this set. I am a little surprised on the amount of ships there are, if Italy has the income to get this many ships, Allies are doing something seriously wrong haha!

      Again, that’s for looking!

    • RE: Acrylic & Spray Paints that Match '40 Unit Colors

I wouldn’t waste time trying to “match”. I don’t know about your games, but mine varied from Pacific to Europe, America were 2 shades of green.

Anyway, just pick a shade of tan, and shoot them all. Home Depot sells a camo spray can called kaki, it’s light tan, bonds to plastic, 4 buck, not shiny :)

    • RE: Special Forces Unit/Airfields *VIDEO*

One of my players has been asking me to add it to out game, not sure about it, but looks like you put a lot if thought into it.

One thing I suggest is maybe painting the base, rather then adding a chip, less moving parts.

I was a little torn with the ANZAC infantry at first, seeming too large, but I really scrootenized them, and found them to be close to the others, except for Italy, which seem smaller. Granted the base is in fact larger, but if the US troops were standing up straight, it would be comparable to the ANZAC IMO.

I saw the free french pieces, they look great, but for me, in all honesty, I have no desire to redo anything lol, I’m so over painting haha.

Thanks John! Another thing I was stoked about with the ANZAC, was the subs, super stoked finally being able to put the number on the coning tower! …. I feel like the transports look like the Titanic though lol

I know I said Germany was next, but they are undergoing the magnetic planes retrofit lol.

I have played twice now with the introducing of magnetic planes/carries, man… what-a-difference! IF you have not played with some, you don’t know what your missing!

OK, so back to the topic, here are the ANZAC forces! And these were a real treat to paint, the detail in these units are outstanding, I was happy with all of them, except for the Mech, which I replaced with some from HBG, the stock one was good, but I couldn’t live with the turret gone, with no hole haha!

      100 pieces!

Not sure who ill post next, I have Germany/Italy left, so well see if Germany gets its magnetics done before Italy get painted troops :)

Also, not sure what happened with the Soviet pics, why they resized to 600, ill repost those later.
Oh and ooops, looks like I forgot to paint the tank barrel holes black lol

      Thanks for looking!

Some of the being busy is, been playing lol, and I’ve gone back to all the countries to add magnetic planes/carriers, which I’ll show my take on it in another thread.

    • RE: WAR ROOM II - The Sequel

I love it, I wish I had the room :( When I lived in WA a few years ago I had an extra room… I moved to the OC here in CA, too expensive here to have an extra room lol.

I few of my favorite things about your room:

      1- Love the hats!
      2- “Enemy ears are listening”
      3- Snack station!

Your dioramas look nice as well, thanks for the pics!

    • RE: US 30 IPC bonus question

Thanks for the replies, my book don’t state that last part. I always thought it was a little weird about all the comments being the game is unbalanced. We’ve always played US gets the bonus and it seems pretty balanced… Does japan take the money islands and bring US into the war and give them 30 bucks or not. I think with all the posts about the unbalance, we’ll just keep the pacific rule in play. We actually just played again today, and it was tough.

    • RE: New player to global, turning US and USSR axis

We had a game where Axis totally dominated, I mean, allied pieces were basically off the game board, put away, done. We called it day, left the game as it was, one of the players came back over the next day, and it was Germany/Italy VS Japan, where within 5 hours, Japan ruled the world :)

We only did something like that once, but was a cool variant. I don’t think I would like to start that way, but continuing a war after its over by a new declaration or war was a nice touch.

    • US 30 IPC bonus question

In the Pacific rule book, states, If Japan makes any unprovoked declaration of war against, ANZAC, UK, or US, US is given a one time payment of 30 IPC’s.

I didn’t see this rule in the Global section, is this a Pacific rule only? …… we always played with it, as we started with Pacific, but I was working on some new game aids, and noticed its not there.

So when playing Global, use or lose it? Thanks.

oh, think its the light, see the game pic, you can see they are more greenish :) …. the pic of the planes, you can see the artillery, that’s the color of the tanks/trucks. I didn’t notice the tan effect from the light haha
