@C_Strabala:
HBG has always done right by me.
I agree, they (or he) is great, and I recommend them 100%, even though ive had issues with this/that, I don’t even really care, the good over shadows the bad so much, I don’t even care about the bad.

While I love the tanks, troops, mech, etc… I’ve only ordered HBG plane wise, was the “going nuclear” pack, and the bombers we’re really bad, so much I threw them out. The issue was the wings flopped around like a bird, in addition it wasn’t a smooth cast.
Wow these boxes are unreal. Your, quite the artist. Man, I’m so jealous of your talent. Congrats, man, really awesome. :-D
Thanks John! Im lucky that my dad owns a cabinet shop, so I have access to the wood shop :) …. better yet, all the scraps of wood!
It works with acrylics! Good to hear. Thanks for the link.
At what point in the painting process did you airbrush? (i.e. after base coat? After an ink wash? At the very end, after all the detailing?)
Last, even after decals
Awesome … just, simply, awesome!
And I like the sound of National Battle Boxes too. :)
Thanks! I don’t know, something about it, make me smile lol.
I almost finished America, the lid is done, I still need to make the ribbon tab and setup chart, France is about ready, the medal should arrive today, AND Russia medal should arrive today as well, im super stoked!
I hoped to post America today, but it’ll have to wait till tomorrow. Thanks everyone for the kind words!
I’ll be in the process of producing a minor/ major factory to go with my air/naval pieces. I hope to have them available mid Jan. I just have a few side projects I need to finish up first.
Like others mentioned, eBay is a good place as well…. For now :)
Thanks for the compliments guys!
My US badge arrived, im finishing up the lid tonight, to ill be able to post that box tomorrow!
All my countries have more pieces then it came with, in this case, ya, they went DAK :)
Love that dust on the tracks. I’ve never made the jump to buying an airbrush - which model did you use? And which paints?
Congratulations on completing such a major project! Wonderful work.
Thanks Spitfire!
I bought this :

Luckly my local shop had one, I hate waiting for stuff in the mail! I bought “light Earth” airbrush paint from hobby lobby. I sprayed the darker units, really makes them pop, the lighter units, like British and the DAK units, it really don’t show for the effort.
Here is my project topic, this shows what im working on, thanks.
I now have France/ Russia on the way.
Sure thing John, hope they work out for ya.
I hope to finish this thread up mid week with my first A&A vid, need to find the right music for the fly overs :)
Don’t laugh, but I like “Battle Box”… sounds kinda funny, makes me smile lol.
All the boxes are made with exception to the lids, as I need to find medals I like to fit a 2" radius. I was able to do Germany, as I already have an Iron Cross first class. I had some mold/resin left over from my Airbase/Naval base thread, so I made a copy of it.
Ill update this thread as im able to when new lids are done, I have US/France/Russia/and ANZAC on the way to me, hopefully they will work…. with luck, US will be here today!!
SO… why on earth would I put this much into trays? Well, i made a portable gaming table made 100% for this game. I used to host at my house, but with the loss of players ive ventured out and play at game stores, and let me tell ya, my table/painted units really draws in the crowds. Its a great way to meet new potential players. Only thing i thought was missing was cool piece trays, er i mean “National Battle Boxes” :P
Pay no mind to my game aid cards, those are old now and im currently designing new ones to go with my new setup chart look.
Speaking of the setup chart, youll notice it has setup for Europe 1940/ Global 1940 / Global 1942… America/UK have set ups for Pacific as well… let me tell you, what a pain in the a$$ it was to design this, i went though many designs to find the space to fit all the data i wanted, this was the hold up on posting this topic.
The piece segments have different elevations for the units to work best with each county, this way your not digging around. The center is designed to not only hold my game cards, but also fit the money, sometimes we will continue a game a week later, so being able to store cash was a must. During game play, there is a slot to hold the cards/cash… UK has duel sides to keep the money separated.
Hope you like the pics, ill be making my first vid this week for the painted piece setup, hopefully my phone pans out haha.

These were all used on my OOB units.
The Japan one, I found online…. Japan was my first nation to paint, I just assumed id find all the countries… I was mistaken lol. The others were mostly created from this/that, I didn’t try to be historically accurate or anything crazy. I just wanted variants in the colors and lines.
Here is the file I created, while I tried to get them close as possible by “winging it” (I took a pick of the units on my phone, sent it to photoshop lol). Most are good, ANZAC has some issues, think they were a little long, I just cut it off. America was a little long as well, but the rest I recall fit pretty darn good for my lack of fitment effort
This is set to be printed actual size on 8.5 x 11, I just printed it onto a full size label, then cut the stickers out. After you place them, I recommend brushing them in dull coat, you can pick up “Matt Finish” from Hobby Lobby for a few bucks. Its the same coat I use over my decals to get rid of the shine and to really lock them on.
Any questions about it, feel free to ask, good luck!
I don’t know how to post a pic in a smaller state you can click, if you know how, lmk, and ill edit the post…. its a HD JPEG haha

so a jpeg or png file may work best
Sounds good, ill post the pic here in a bit.
Thanks for the comments guys!
@ LHoffman - Im glad you noticed the dust, my gf made fun of me for buying an airbrush and mini compressor so I could do that. “You seriously bought that to just add dust?” ……“ya” lol.
@ John, thanks John, like Hoffman mentioned, its the magnet pads for the planes, as for the lines, its stickers I made. I created a file in photoshop that has all the carriers for the entire game in a single print, if your interested (or anyone else) I can post it.
This country was actually the easiest to paint, I didn’t have to mix too much (just the infantry)… the 2 variants of paint used were German colors you can get in a spray can, “Panzer Gray” and “Afrika Mustard” … so I was able to just basically shoot everything lol, very little brush work :)
Thanks for the compliment sean!- the “you cannot see me” part made me laugh!
I was hoping to post my new project today, but having last minute design issues, so it will have to wait till tomorrow :(
Thanks again!
Well my friends, this endeavor is over!
1200+ Painted Units / 800-1000 decals …… About 400 bucks in paint, adding(replacing) units, decals, and airbrush… yes to paint dirt lol!
And WOW, looking back to the first post, 10/10… so 2 months of painting! Ill will be keeping the topic alive a tad longer, as I have gotten a few more units I want to paint, just NOT now! I bought 5 US Marine troops, and 5 German greatcoat troops, save those for a rainy day. Also, I want to do a setup, and make a vid to show the pieces on the board, which ill do this week.
Im also excited to post my current project, which ill do later today :P
Without further ado, Germany!
I used 2 schemes, Gray and DAK, I replaced all the tanks and Mech with units from HBG, 2 variants for the mech, and 3 variants for the tanks, and I added more AA Guns and Infantry totaling 163 Units.
Thanks everyone for the comments and looking, its time to put away the paints… well most of it! For now, ill be relaxing the rest of the day… sigh of relief!!

Today it was time to say goodby to old friends as I threw these pieces away lol. This post can be removed now, thanks.
I gave this some serious thought, even though I really love the idea, I feel it will make this very long game even longer. Prolonging attacks, chasing around, etc. You, as the defender should already see the writing on the wall, and should had moved your units already on your non combat. The attacker shouldn’t be penalized if the defender forgot to move them, or didn’t see the attack.
Good luck with this rule, like I said I really do like the idea, just for me I don’t want to increase game time.
I have NEVER thought about this, but I fking love the idea!! You got my gears turning! Ill give my 2cent after some thought. Again, dude, I fking love it!
