Just checked the odds, and even if the lone tank retreats, there’s only about a 5% chance of not killing the infantry in that battle for Normandy. Some may say that’s too much. Hmm.

I’m really not sure where the allies can go if the axis do the critical things perfectly. MrRoboto has an interesting strategy though - might force me to invest in a third factory for Japan.

probably not, at least not anymore, after I had similar odds/tuv against BSD recently, and also lost that battle big, which ultimately led to my loss (an otherwise fairly easy allied win as I had great momentum and income and advantage). made me rethink going in for big naval battles that are only like 80ish or 90ish odds, especially if I am not desperate to do so. and now seeing what happened to you, I will almost certainly not take the big risk, so long as I’m not desperate.

U do not have to be ashamed. U played a very good game, the pressure on India was tremendous, Germany on the door of Moscow, but that one move helped me to turn the tide.

i have too many games going, but when i ll have time i ll be happy that we play a new one. We are more or less equal opponents.

I don’t know about BM. I’m starting to think that without the allies actually going after the NOs, they don’t have much of a chance. Some of the NOs are fine and probably add value but some just force irrational actions, like why land on Sicily? Kid will say or at least think that they did it in the actual war so let’s bring some historical outcomes. Where’s the fun in that?

I really expect to win when I play Axis unless I screw up somewhere, which I guess I do often.

Wow that’s odd. Is this your allied strategy to run suicide mission in turn 1 and surrender if they do not work?
Also, in case you want to take risks, I am surprised you did not choose they way more juice target in Holland. 4 tacs that can be killed with 55% chance sounds way better than the 39% odds in 112.
Also, Holland would not have been a do or die mission. Even if Germans e.g. win with 1 Tac remaining the battle would have been a success. Just skip 97 in that case and safely take 96 down and you have a game.

Hmm, I’ve never run the numbers on that Holland attack. No one has ever made that attack - I guess there would be another fighter there if it lived through the SZ111 battle. Probably should put the third AA Gun there in that outcome.

I think I would have had to build up for a turn if I had stacked Bryansk, but I don’t think there was any real doubt I would have had Moscow.

Yeah, I think it was probably helpful for the allies to have the extra beef from the USA factory, it just was only a slight help and tied up some USA resources. I don’t know, one option I’ve figured from the via sub Saharan Africa route is reinforcing India with US planes. It should be possible, and might get there just in time. With a J2 DOW, you’re getting there US5.

I think rushing Midway to not take Hawaii also cost the money islands, which was bad for Japan.
