Hmm, I think I may have thought that the UK air couldn’t all attack Rome.
Yeah, the loss of southern Italy will seal it but it was over already anyway. Japan will never recover and allies will continue to get stronger, even if russia falls (not a definite) it wouldnt matter. Allies are in too strong of a position and with too much of an economic advantage.
You seem to have my number.
Perhaps, but at the same time, every time we play I think I got off lucky. If you had just done a few things different I could have seen things going much differently. Thats why I find myself messing around with J1s trying to get a bit better grasp on what to do with and against J1s.
In this game, I think in pacific, you needed more navy (not as much as games past) and less emphasis on carolines. Axis advantage comes in using the same units to accomplish multiple tasks given their central position. With a huge chunk of air sitting in carolines it accomplished nothing for several turns allowing me to get india back, bulk up china, and eventually push in with russia to move you out of position. If you had kept your air on the mainland you could have used it to do better with china or else hold india.
Similar thing in europe. You always had your air in nov or somewhere near russia (threatening SBR?) and letting US/UK move around at will in the med. Position them in yugo or some other central location and you would have broken thru rostov, kept me from cruising around with relatively minimal investment in the med, and been in much better position.
