Thanks for the game. Yeah I may have improved but I guess I still overreact.

I don’t find the J2 significantly different to the J1 in how it plays - just weaker. J3 is a different beast. You pretty much give up on winning in the Pacific so I am not a big fan. Many players quite like it though - perhaps I’m not across the nuances.

Ok, I was thinking that if the battle went bad I would need to retreat, even before the disasters in the Pacific. The attack was absolutely essential IMO because of the split in my forces which could not be allowed to stand - if you had flown the planes in, I would still have felt the attack was necessary but may have retreated after 1 round.

You know, I realised after I posted the German turn that I should have landed the fighter which started in the Channel back on the CV, rather than landing on France. I could then have mobilised a fighter in France and landing a tac on Normandy isn’t really a problem. And reviewing the dice, upgrading one of the 3s to a 4 would surely have prevented a hit in the third round (round 4) where you hit 5/5. This would have left me with 2 fighters, preventing the attack on London from even being made.

I think it is too early, but most likely you are in trouble long term. Eventually i will kick you out of middle east. But usa need to focus 95% on Japan, so that might give Germany some rest. But you are free to call it if you like. In any case it made things different.

Do you think the early attack on the neutrals has any merrits?

Now I have just retried with 2.1.20696 - no issues again.

I think that was the round that it seemed to all unravel. I think I did see that I hadn’t counted a couple of planes from Jehol which could get to SZ33 but I had already rolled dice so I thought I had to hope.

Norway, Baltic States and SZ33 pretty much sealed the Axis fate.

Result posted. Losing my Kreigsmarine in SZ127 was a big blow to Europe I think. I couldn’t reclaim Norway after that.
