Regarding not taking Normandy and Sth France, I still think that is positive so long as Paris is defended. I didn’t do the latter.

Thanks for the game. I’m a bit surprised you gave up here, you have a bunch of planes which could fly into London so I think with a determined effort I probably couldn’t take it. I guess you are thinking that you can’t defend Egypt, which is probably about right.

Had to b line for Russia. Appreciate the game hope to play in the future.

Yeah that little detail is pretty important. In this game it cost you the Burma road when otherwise you probably would have had it for 5rounds or so

No doubt that losing the UK early was a critical/game-costing blunder.

As for the correct bid, I think it is quite tough for the allies with a +6(TT) or +5(marine) bid to Japan when combined with a properly executed J1 attack. Conversely, it is really difficult for the Axis with a +4 or lower bid to the Axis. So in my mind, the map is fundamentally broken as is.

Thanks for the game. Yeah I may have improved but I guess I still overreact.

I don’t find the J2 significantly different to the J1 in how it plays - just weaker. J3 is a different beast. You pretty much give up on winning in the Pacific so I am not a big fan. Many players quite like it though - perhaps I’m not across the nuances.

Ok, I was thinking that if the battle went bad I would need to retreat, even before the disasters in the Pacific. The attack was absolutely essential IMO because of the split in my forces which could not be allowed to stand - if you had flown the planes in, I would still have felt the attack was necessary but may have retreated after 1 round.
