Thanks for the game. An undeserved victory for me. You were something like 80% to take down Moscow G5 I think it was.

If I had taken Moscow, I still wouldn’t have won the game I think… Japan was completely lost. Short but fun game.

Well if the Axis control Ukraine-Stalingrad-Persia plus Leningrad then they have pretty much already won. Egypt and Moscow will fall soon.

Killing the Japanese sub off Persia only really requires one DD unless you have a other support for it which ties up the IJN.

No problem posting the result.  Its about as easy and cheap a win you can get :-D.  At worst case I should of finished with at least 1 inf left.  And I think it was a much more devastating loss for Russia than Germany missing in Baltic.  Especially with a turn 1 DOW.  But those are the risks I guess.  Hope the next game stays normal dice at least for a little while :wink:  MARTI is always lurking.

Rematch will have to wait, we already completed our best of 5. It will probably be a few months from now until I get close to 20 games completed.

I am ok with it and don’t see way it should be removed.

The problem will be that if your computer crashes while the box is being displayed, you won’t get the autosave if it’s the last thing done after displaying the end turn panel.

But it seems there is a strong view to maintain the status quo and no concern about that potential problem. Has no effect on me given that I turn it off so there’s no reason to change that aspect.

Yeah, I’ve learned a lot about the G1 DOW. Before BM3 I’d never done one.

I’m still making some changes to the move and particularly the Japan side but I’m seeing what is important and what attacks should be dropped. For instance, the Vyborg assault isn’t worth it.

This was a tight game. I think where the allies finally got an edge was when I was able to sink the Japanese fleet.  That really allowed me to rush Europe.

Perhaps, although I don’t think it would have mattered if I could have pushed your fleet off the English Channel. I should have prioritised that much more highly!

Germany has to deny the NO SZ125 but Japan can deny it by taking out Amur.

Ran some numbers last night. If the USSR buys an additional fighter, with 4 bombers Germany still has a positive expected value from bombing G3. To make it negative, USSR needs to buy two fighters. USSR doesn’t want to spend money on fighters so I guess it is still worthwhile for Germany to threaten it. Could conceivably be worthwhile to attack even with a negative expected value because USSR’s money is worth more than Germany’s. The problem is that if you lose a bomber or two, do you have enough to hit it next turn?
