      @Odonis:

      I’ll call this one. Good game - what is that, three in a row?

      Need to get my mojo back - another rematch? I’ll beat you yet!

      Looks like two in a row. You won 39512, I won this one and 39594.

      Yeah, I’ve learned a lot about the G1 DOW. Before BM3 I’d never done one.

      I’m still making some changes to the move and particularly the Japan side but I’m seeing what is important and what attacks should be dropped. For instance, the Vyborg assault isn’t worth it.

      @Karl7:

      This was a tight game. I think where the allies finally got an edge was when I was able to sink the Japanese fleet.  That really allowed me to rush Europe.

      Perhaps, although I don’t think it would have mattered if I could have pushed your fleet off the English Channel. I should have prioritised that much more highly!

      Germany has to deny the NO SZ125 but Japan can deny it by taking out Amur.

      Ran some numbers last night. If the USSR buys an additional fighter, with 4 bombers Germany still has a positive expected value from bombing G3. To make it negative, USSR needs to buy two fighters. USSR doesn’t want to spend money on fighters so I guess it is still worthwhile for Germany to threaten it. Could conceivably be worthwhile to attack even with a negative expected value because USSR’s money is worth more than Germany’s. The problem is that if you lose a bomber or two, do you have enough to hit it next turn?

      Righto.

      When you click “Download Maps”, you should get a bunch of potential maps. House Rules is over under the experimental category.

      Surprised your interested in the house rules bit though.

      @simon33:

      … The developers don’t want to.

      Really? Where do they say so? I must have missed that.  :?

      Have you spoken to them? They don’t say it in so many words.

      Anyway, some of the reluctance is breaking save game compatibility and moving on the new version. I’ve submitted a new PR which fixes some of the issues which can be fixed while keeping compatibility. Not the submerge bugs, mostly.

      There’s plenty of reason not to break save game compatibility. A lot of the old version functionality was broken in 1.9 for reasons I can’t fathom.

      Scramble orders?

      Losing Qld wouldn’t have been so bad if not for the IC there. ie. it would have been temporary. I don’t know - never felt like you had me. Germans were taking the Middle East so that couldn’t have prevented Calcutta’s fall.

      I think in the other game I disliked my tactical position if I didn’t attack.

      @simon33:

      You win. Rematch same sides with dice?

      I can see a few mistakes I made here and you did some things I’ve always thought other people should do like keep back the Moscow fighter from SZ115 USSR1.

      Specifically, my buy G3 was wrong as was losing 3 Luftwaffe in Alexandria.

      Should have taken the 18% IIRC to attack Bryansk G4.

      Good game.

      18% LL would have been an ugly result for Germany even if they win.

      Sure rematch.
