      @simon33 its fine. I get the challenges and I do think your position was quite a difficult one now. And I don’t mind if my opponent needs a pause from time to time, but I did want the game to still proceed ( struggle to keep track of the game when there are repeated long delays) which is why I was bumping. It was a challenging game for me and quite fun. I think you are right though that the opening in Korea was key to turning it in my favour.

      I think you have to give up on the J1 in that scenario. With the Yunnan stack, China gets strong, so you need to kill China first. I tried to kill China first with the J1 but it wasn’t enough for me. Often, a J2 goes well against a Yunnan stack I think. I’m one of the only players that goes J2 frequently but in G40 J1 is so much better because you can kill India quickly. But you kept India alive and a big stack up north which kept my attention divided. Perhaps I should have ignored the northern stack, not sure.

      Also, the 2tt landing on Java was inspired and kept me from retaking it, assisting with Japan’s collapse.

      @simon33 Pretty sure you are right, you had me until the attack on the Allied fleet on the UK coast. It was a near 50/50 battle and went south. That opened up Germany. Additionally, you had bought 10 transports so really lost 2 rounds of buying offensive units+ extra buy for brits.

      Yeah, the ussr bid was kind of experimental. I wanted to play yunnan and then thought to further boost ussr might enable them to survive better and become stronger earlier. Worked out quite good. I think you did not manage the 125 objective too good, I was able to grab that several times when it could have been prevented. That added to ussr strength of course. Think you are a BM player after all, and the NOs change with that. Even more glad you played me in lowluck!

      I agree that J3 should be preferred against the yunnan stack. At least I do prefer it. It is hard for Japan to manage this Chinese units additionally, even though you did a great job in preserving and massing these Japanese, still it is limiting if you cannot focus enough air early on.

      Thanks for the game as well. I didn’t feel like you enjoyed it much after the boo boo uk1 but I actually wonder if you had have kept me out of the middle east in time for the UK to reassert themselves there if the game would have been very different. Japan just became too strong but only really right at the end. Guess by then the value of those Siberian territories started to hear fruit. In the earlier rounds, Japan was paying a penalty to go after Siberia but I was pretty worried about USSR income.

      I didn’t even notice that the Yunnan stack was in any danger.

      I had a big bid which I spent all in Europe yet you still didn’t go J1. I think that was a big mistake. I’ve developed my J1 moves after playing online a bit and they go like this:

      don’t attack the UK BB attack Chahar with 1 inf keep 1 inf back in Kwangsi if the Yunnan attack goes ok and then you get 1 hit against you in Hunan, lose a plane. Why? because then you can counter attack Yunnan again in J2 with 2 inf and a mech even if UK kills FIC. Probably the same even if you get 2 hits defend all your transports and SZ36 buy 2tt and a Kiangsu factory.

      This will give 40-41 income so you can buy 3 mechs J2 for Kiangsu, an IC and a CV.

      Anyway, I think that is what you should have done. Another problem you had was not taking all the money islands.

      You did surprise me with taking Moscow so early, I wasn’t prepared for that. Your problem was my middle east was so strong that you couldn’t take it out. I don’t think there was anything you could have done about that though, other than not giving such a big bid in the first place.
