@amon-sul I would say just one rule, 8 games of that version.

For the record, I am supportive of the idea of allowing a lower number of games played for OOB than BM. In the event that BM or P2V fall out of favour through the year they may need differing minimum numbers of relevant games played. We also need to clarify the default rule as BM4 (I would presume) for that playoff. P2V may change through the year so we probably need to decide how to handle that potential issue. OOB with a bid for allies is clear enough at present.

The idea that I do disagree with is OOB games counting toward your BM minimum and all ways around.

Yeah, the point of scrambling to SZ113 is to kill air so I would certainly have lost the BB in the first round and kept a plane. You would have killed it in the second round but it would have had a shot. Let’s roll it here. Otherwise, all good.

The substantive changes:

1. Carriers reduced to 1 defense. May no longer scramble to empty sea zones (must be a defending surface warship present - player enforced)

2. New global victory conditions for Axis. In addition to the existing theater specific victory conditions, Axis can now also win by taking and holding for one round 13 victory cities, globally.

Thanks for the game. I still think it was pretty devastating to not attack Borneo on the same turn as you declared war. You can live without attacking the Philippines, but you need to weaken UK_Pacific ASAP.

Agreed that there were some high variance attacks made there.

I have stopped doing the 1inf 1TT buy ANZAC1. I have been going for a 3inf buy, to shore up Sydney. I note that you lost all 3 ANZAC fighters ANZ2 in SZ38 but normally I would take them to E India anyway. The combination of the TT instead of inf buy, the inf that the TT take off and taking the fighters off make Sydney too weak.

You did use some USA planes to hang on until J8, with one exchange of Sydney before that. So at least it hang on for a while. The other issue I would raise here is that USA weren’t very effective in the Pacific, were they focused on the Europe side?

I think the winning move was when I took Egypt. You should have made sure that wasn’t possible, even if it cost the Middle East. I thought you could have attacked my stack of troops in Alexandria but perhaps I am wrong about that. Either way, you needed to consolidate in Egypt given that was where you had built your IC. I lost a game against Axis-Dominion in a similar way (although that was where Italy had taken Egypt).

Another thing I thought was a step to victory in the Pacific was when I got my Japanese troops between your Chinese stack and India. It can be better to lose the stack and at least inflict casualties.

The first step to victory was to take out the Siberians but I don’t think you could have stopped that.

You kept a lot of pressure on Germany but it was at the expense of USN in the Pacific. Last turn you could have put in a blocker but it would have only delayed the inevitable.
