I am very grateful to @Witt and @Private-Panic for bearing with a new player as Germany and to the rest of you for an exciting game! I have learned a lot about unit compositions and tempo and strategy that I hadn’t been able to experience before just playing against the computer a bit.

Sadly I also cannot commit to another game at the moment with my baby getting more active and we’re also moving and I’m taking on more work soon.

It’s been a pleasure, and I hope to play with you all some time again.

Page 16 of the Europe rulebook (under Phase 2: Combat Move):

“Scrambling is a special movement that the defender can make at the end of this phase.”
[Which I take to mean only during Phase 2]

Also page 16:

“Surviving scrambled air units land during that turn’s Noncombat Move phase, before the attacker makes any movements.”
[Therefore even if scramblers still exist above the SZ, they retreat before UK makes their Non-Combat movements]

I am happy enough to play Germany. It will likely be different from what you’re all used to (being my first time) and maybe not optimized. But I’m excited to try some things out!

FYI I tried to register for MARTI dice server with gmail this week and it no longer works. protonmail seems to work well.

Although it looks like the Germans are -9 so far. I would have preferred it the opposite way ):

I can verify that proton mail does work for the verification setup (and that gmail no longer does). I signed up for a proton email a couple of weeks ago and I get MARTI dice. I am only using that address for TripleA games at this point. But as VF says, you don’t need to receive the dice as long as you trust your opponent ;)

Ahh I see. Thanks for clarifying, I’m fine to leave it as is.

I mean, with all of the turns the Allies get on this map, it’s reasonable to forget that Axis gets turns once in a while too haha.

I don’t think it matters too much exactly which release you download, just as long as it is in the 2.6. range it should work with the forum.

No, I’m not complaining at all, sneaky is a compliment haha. I think it’s great to see what’s possible. Gotta play the rules to squeeze out whatever bonuses you can. I didn’t understand at first why you weren’t moving the other Allies through North Africa for a turn or two. Then I saw the bonus income going to Russia and it made sense. It’s cool to see how the blockades and NOs affect the strategy and tactics of the game. A lot of new mechanics to get used to!

I don’t know how many players play games in real-time. I believe most players here do either Play by Forum or Play by Email. I don’t think players hang out in a lobby looking for games either. If people want to play in real-time, they would probably arrange a time to meet with another player.

Should hopefully be able to take a look tonight or tomorrow.

By the way, if you open this game up in Play by Email or Play by Forum, you can replace one of the emails (I just filled mine in for both so it would work) with yours so you can receive dice MARTI emails.
