    • RE: What the heck is Bidding?

      Both players bid to be the Axis-side as the Allies are the strongest side. The person who bids the lowest amount of IPCs gets to be the Axis and starts with extra units equal to the number of IPCs you bid.

    • RE: Ultimate gamebreaker tech

      We found the ultimate gamebreaking tech when we played yesterday. My team-mate and I were in the lead with the Axis, and everything was going smooth. Germany had two bombers in Germany and UK only had two bombers and a few inf. in UK. The German player rolled the paratrooper tech  :-D

      5 seconds later both bombers was shot down by AA-gun fire and we lost the combat, turning the tide of the battle and after 3-4 more rounds we lost…

      @AxisOfEvil:

      @Romulus:

      Units “doomed to die” in the A&A set up are a constant presence. For example in Revised the UK BB in the Western Med, the Jap TRN in sz 59, the USA fighter in China etc. And I am not considering the German Army in West Russia, or the English Army in Egypt…

      I might argue that the german army in W Russia is more doomed to die than the TRN in sz 59. If i were inclined to argue   :-D

      which you are not and therefore are not arguing this point :P

      The point is however that it would be funny to finally see that fighter survive to see another round of combat, if only once :P

    • RE: Who Paid Full Price $99.00 for AA50?

      @Heavy:

      None of you had to have it shipped to Norway. 80$ for the game, 50$ for the shipping and an additional 35$ in shipping. Anyone paid more than that?

      sniff-sniff  Do you smell that?   sniff    …It smells like someone got burned…ouch :-o

      The worst is that this translates to roughly 970 NOK. Should i have bought it here it would have costed me 1000 NOK. I had to have the game though :)

      Which is exactly the same thing as you have always done in both Revised and Classic.

      I believe Krieghund said they could do that.

    • RE: Naval Units: what is worth buying?

      Remember that the fighters on a carrier can also help you in the attacking part of the game. Be it land wars or a naval battle.

    • RE: Naval Units: what is worth buying?

      noone would buy bombers with 3 in attack. everyone would buy the more flexible fighter or for naval battles, a cruiser which would also help you in defense. how many bought a bomber i revised? well, with 3 attack, they are a worse deal than that.

    • RE: Subs: question about ability and tactics

      subs can submerge before the first round of combat if your opponent don’t have a dd.

    • RE: Another Review – 1941 Scenario

      But perhaps the main point would be to make it as balanced as possible? Not as good as possible. If you found out 12 ipcs to china would make for a balanced game, maybe that would be the best solution?

    • RE: Subs still marginalized…by DD this time...

      @TG:

      Really?  It seems to me that 3 destroys on offense would have a higher probability of defeating 4 subs on defense (56% vs 41%).

      I used average numbers. That means not counting full hits, but decimal numbers. Maybe I was wrong, but I believe I did get a little higher probability for the subs to win.

    • RE: Subs still marginalized…by DD this time...

      The only reason is that even without surprise attacks subs for let’s say 24 ipcs (4 subs) beat 24 ipcs of destroyers (3 destroyers) on both offense and defense on average.

      Think Krieghund has answered this about 5 times now  :-P Only 1941-controlled territories like Manchuria and Iwo Jima.

      No, you can only ignore enemy subs and transports, not surface warships
