    • RE: I really want to buy this, but..

I just called them and told them I was short 1 german and they sent me 5…  I could tell this game was about making cash more than anything…half way through the game I am bringing out chips and figures from other AA games…Rediculous if you consider the price of the game…Not to mention the splits in the game board are right where the most activity is…

I don’t think it will be anytime soon before a new version comes out…they have to get in the green on the first, first…

    • RE: No love for bulge?

I bought this game when it came out, took a look at it, saw that it was nothing like AA and put it away.  Then in my move to europe I was packing my stuff and it was amongst all my aa games still bran new…I took another look at it over this passed weekend and played vs. myself just to get the rules down…Looking to break it in with a friend in a couple weeks, but so far, I am amazed at how cool it is…My friend is a noobie and we have been doing Dday a lot with some serious drama a swings either way.  With this game, that initiative with attack can swing it in either direction and I found out what it was like to blitz 4 tanks and get stranded without fuel.

I gotta say I was following Frimmels axis strategy and it was over in 4 turns without aircraft getting involved.  I have a feeling playing this against my noob friend I will have to take the allies as I have to let him win once in a while to keep him interested, right?  I like the challenge of learning allies strategy…It was fun in Dday and I think it will be fun here.

I like the fact you could probably play 2 games in an evening as well.

I think that Larry had a good idea here to mix it up a bit with Dday and esp bulge.  Making things a little more out of your control as far as losses makes you think like a real general and react to what comes instead of always having tanks and planes left after making your inf cannon fodder.

This game is awesome and takes some patience to learn at first, but definitely worth it in the end.  Sadly I have only found 1 video on youtube about it and it was just a description…I will have to remedy that with some game vids…

Big shout to Frimmel for the strategies and Krieghound for being “der Spielfuhrer” with all the advice on rules… :-D

    • Players wanted around München (munich)

I am an american living in Munich with a global game that is dying to be played…I have played AA since college, but the last time was a couple years ago.  So I am experienced, but maybe not an expert.  I am looking for players who are new to those that want to whip my ass and show me how it’s done…

    • RE: Axis and Allies Europe 1940 2nd Edition ( AAE40.2) FAQ/question

I know there are some differences with the sculpts in the 2nd edition from the 1st.  I have the first and I was wondering if it was worth getting the 2nd edition just for the sculpts…I just got a great deal for both europe and pacific and now I am questioning whether I should have spent the money on the 2nd edition…

Since the map is the same and I can download the 2nd ed rules, is there somewhere I can get the 2nd edition units in bulk instead of individually?  I looked on historical gaming and after you buy what comes in the game, you have spent more than buying the whole game new…
