Have another Q:
Am I right that the territory’s IPC value no longer limits the output of an IC?
That is correct, it’s dependent on the type of factory, major or minor.

National Objectives
The national objectives add an extra bit of strategy because they give certain groups of territories more strategic importance. When an objective is achieved bonus income is awarded.
Japan
5 IPCs for controlling Java, Sumatra, Borneo, and Celebes at the same time
5 IPCs for controlling Solomon Islands, Dutch New Guinea, New Guinea, and New Britain
5 IPCs for controlling Honolulu
5 IPCs for controlling Sydney
5 IPCs for controlling Calcutta
USA
Income for Western USA goes from 10 to 50 IPCs when at war with the Axis.
5 IPCs for controlling the Philippines
5 IPCs for controlling Okinawa and Iwo Jima at the same time
China
6 IPCs when the Burma Road is controlled by the Allies (India, Burma, Yunnan, and Szechwan)
UK
5 IPCs if the Allies (excluding the Dutch) control Sumatra, Java, Celebes, and Borneo at the same time
5 IPCs for controlling Kwangtung and Malaya at the same time
ANZAC
5 IPCs if the Allies (excluding the Dutch) control Dutch New Guinea, New Guinea, New Britain, and the Solomon Islands
5 IPCs (once and only once) for occupying any territory that was originally Japanese controlled.
Come to think of it, I don’t think Japan can take Hawaii on J1 with at most a landing force of 3 infantry and 2 artillery.
On J1, Attacking Phillippines and destroying the destroyer, transport, 2 infantry, fighter, bomber and attacking sea zone 37 and destroying the battleship, and 2 transports seems to be the logical choices.
Any thoughts of attacking sea zone 26, Pearl Harbor on J1 and taking over Hawaii? This would remove US from piling on Hawaii with airplanes on an airfield where they can scramble and fight in sea zone 26, gives Japan a +5 from NO and +1 from TT, US would no longer be one move away from Japan coming out of Hawaii with a naval base, and destroys the 2 infantry, fighter, tatical bomber, bomber, and cruiser (? can’t tell from the picture).
was it available for purchase last night?
Does anyone know the scale of the various plastic pieces?
Tanks and Planes
Ships
Infantry?
One other thing. There was some talk (by Larry?) that the USA had a motive to keep a large fleet based at Hawaii (so Pearl would be re-lived again). Our US player thought differently and kept the fleet safely at the west coast to build it up first. But when we finised our test game we saw that there was a route from Japan to Hawaii of only 3 spaces (with a naval base). This means that Hawaii is constant at risk and this is probably the reason why you have to base a fleet there (or at least make it a deadzone for Japan).
I don’t like the idea of Hawaii within a single move (with a naval base) from Japan and vice versa.
regarding kamikazes, i brought this up because of the departure from AAP.
sources for sunken and damaged ships sustained from kamikaze attacks vary. but transport ships were also targeted.
– Allied Ships affected by Kamikaze Attacks –
34 Ships total
288 Ships total
Thanks djensen for posting the rules in advance so we can discuss and clarify!
From reading the first part of the rules, i have two questions:
1. “Aircraft that scramble cannot participate in another battle.” Does this mean that those aircrafts used in a scramble cannot be used during the players normal combat/non combat movement phase?
2. “A kamikaze may target any naval ship except transports.” I just wanted to double check to see if this is correct?
11 hours? epic!
A few questions on units… does mechanized infantry get a +1 attack boost with artillery? how many kamikaze attacks were there and did it work in the same fashion as the origianl AA Pacific?
Thanks!
I have a few questions before we take the plunge.
1. can a transport in a sea zone still containing enemy ships unload their cargo when the survive the naval engagement?
2. artilleries can shoot at naval units in the adjacent square. so the artillery can participate in the naval engagement then participate in the land engagement?
3. purchased units are placed in the base card and requires 1 supply token if you want to place it in the +1 sea square adjacent to the base card. is this true?
4
. if there are four submarines attacking a fleet, how would this battle be handled? i understand subs can target a specific ship… can someone explain this scenario and how the dices are rolled and counted?
Thanks in advance!

Quick question, for the 1942 setup, Germany controls Ukraine at the beginning of the game. If Russia takes Ukraine from Germany, and Italy retakes Ukraine, then who controls Ukraine? Germany or Italy?
i’ve played the game twice now (once with NO and once w/out) and I do believe Allies has an advantage. Before Japan can get to Moscow, the Allies will be breathing down the necks of Germany and Italy.
Exactly right. China didn’t fully control Formosa until 1887, when the Manchu Imperial authorities decided to declare Taiwan to be part of their Empire. The intention was to outmaneuver the Japanese, who were expanding their influence to the South. In 1895 the Japanese defeated the Manchu’s in the Sino-Japanese War, and in the Treaty of Shimonoseki, China ceded Taiwan to Japan in perpetuity (not 99 years, like Hong Kong’s New Territories, but in perpetuity, i.e. forever). The Taiwanese didn’t like this idea, and actually declared the formation of the first independent republic in Asia. However, the movement was short-lived: Japanese imperial troops crushed the movement within several months.
i think it’s futile for Germany to spend on navy in general. already mentioned is Germany really lacks infantry. so i would spend the 31 ipc on 8 infantry (21 ipc) and 2 tanks (10 ipc), which totals 10 items that can be placed on Germany.
Since national objectives are optional, is it better to use it for 41 setup? would it make it more balanced? more fun?
about to have my first game tonite!
Thanks for the quick response… one last one…
for the original example, is the transport destroyed?
if SZ 13 had a submarine, is the submarine destroyed?
but planes have to stop to engage a transport by itself correct? counting as the combat move?
Can a fleet move through a sea zone occupied by an enemy transport?
for example, in the 1941 setup, can the UK CA, DD in SZ 12 move through SZ 13 occupied by a German CT, to attack Italy’s fleet BB, 2 CA, CT in SZ 14?
or does the UK fleet have to stop at SZ 13?
