Dear Field Marshall, can you please post all the images of your italian miniatures in a single post? I would put a link in my Italian forum. Thank you.

RE: Attacking against enemy ships and subs…posted in Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
…
I would like to point out that if you don’t have a destroyer in you attacking force the defender may choose to submerge the subs in which casew you have your desired attack…ti piace?I know, I know… Yeah, I like it, but I would prefer if I could choose… ;)

RE: Europe Requestsposted in Axis & Allies Europe 1940
My two cents:
1- Specific molds for the italian units;
2- Dark green or grey or dark grey or light grey or anything but brown for the italian units;
3- At least two sea zones from Canada to Algeria;
4- A Major IC behind Urals (let’s say Novosibirsk) for the USSR;
5- A Cruiser or a Battleship alone for the Germany in the South Atlantic. -
RE: Has anyone ever decided NOT to scramble island fightersposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
Sure, my opponents did in our first game: I was the Japan.
I attacked the US navy at Hawaii with my huge Imperial Navy: obviously I destroyed all while they don’t scrambled any fighter nor tactical bomber. At his turn, the US player counter-attacked my ships, destroying all them… We closed the game and immediately started a second one: there’s no fun in playing Pacific without ships! :D

Attacking against enemy ships and subs…posted in Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
Hi all.
I have a doubt… Supposing enemy has a fleet with, for example, a carrier, a cruiser and some subs, can I attack this fleet with my SHIPS but decide to not attack the subs??? In this way, I could assign all the hits to the 2 bigger ships and my opponent shouldn’t use his/her subs as “cannon fodder”…
Thank you in advance.

RE: Italian color?posted in Other Axis & Allies Variants
Historically, the color of the italian uniforms was the grey-green. Since the China is lime green and the US is green-ligh green, why not make italian units in dark green, like the marines in the old version of Pacific?

RE: OFFICIAL REQUEST: ITALIAN MOLDS in A&A Europe 1940posted in Axis & Allies Europe 1940
Why Italy lost the war is a discussion a little bit “out of topic” here. There are too many reasons. SOME of the italian equipments were very good, such the G-55 fighter or the Semovente 75/18 mobile artillery, but in general they were few and /or they were developed too late to change the course of the war in the mediterranean. Italian soldiers were like any other soldier, but Italy’s economic power were simply inadequate to the modern concept of warfare.

UK will controll ANZAC
isnt it obvious?Italian molds arent “necissary” however a few new key italian sculpts, or at least a mix and mash from other armies rather than a 100% german line up would be nice
Infantry - Italian (good)
Artillery - Old japanese (keep it this way, cant be the 88" and shouldnt be the new jap gun, so this is now a unique sculpt)
Mech infantry - New Unit, keep it in line with the axis (or use an italian colored battle of the bulge truck, size might be off however)
Tank - Already Italain (good)
Fighter - Here is where Id like a new unit
Fighter Bomber - Cant be the Stuka, (likely will be the same as the russians or the japanese)
Bomber - Japanese (keep it, italy isnt a bomber power)
Transport - Keep it european axis
Sub - Keep it european axis
Destroyer - Ok if its same as german, its a nice mold
Cruiser - NOT the crappy german cruiser design, maybe use the japanese one, or new russian one
Carrier - Keep it european axis, it looks scratch built, like an italian carrier would be
Battleship - Maybe a unique battleship, its their only other claim to fameso essentaly we need a new battleship and fighter design……should we realy be complaning, all the other molds as of now make sense, UK and US share tons of molds, its ok for italy and germany to do the same. However if they were going to make some italian molds, a figher and a battleship shouldnt be too problematic
Toss my vote in for the cost effective option, new ship, new plane, rest the same.
Italy really invented the entire concept of the strategic bombing, the author was Giulio Douhet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giulio_Douhet). I’m not proud of this, but I tell it to you only for the historic truth. Despite this, in WW2 Italy didn’t develop a proper stregic bomber army force, by the way nor the Germany and nor the Japan did so: but in the GAME both Germany and Japan have their own bomber mold. The italian heavy bomber during WW2 was the SM-79 “Sparviero”, used both in air and land combats. He had a sinister fame for the british aviators, that called it “the damned hunchback” due to this particular shape, so I think that a specific mold could be the right solution.
Also, the Italian Royal Navy (the “Regia Marina”) was greater than Kriegsmarine, both for number and for quality of the ships, but not for the high officers… and surely it was greater and bigger than Soviet Navy! Despite this, now the USSR got his proper mold for almost all the navy units: so I think the minimum is to do the same for the italian navy.
The unique machine that during WW2 Italy shared with Germany was just the Stuka dive bomber, which in Italy were called “Picchiatello”.
This is the historic truth.

RE: Taking Western USposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
I don’t agree with dinosaur: the rule says that the US production increase to 50 from 10 when US are at war. If Japan attacks US this will occur immediately, so the production of the territory increases from 10 to 50 and Japan, if taking the territory, gets the increased production…

British Columbiaposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
Hi all.
Who is the owner of the British Columbia? It has a canadian symbol on it. Is that territory owned by UK? Is it neutral? Can USA pass through it, ie. with a tank, to reinforce Alaska?
I think British Columbia should be considered as an UK territory: I checked the IPC production and searched for the british territories on the map but I miss 1 IPC. Considering the British Columbia as an UK’s territory solves all the problems, but I’m not sure about it…

RE: OFFICIAL REQUEST: ITALIAN MOLDS in A&A Europe 1940posted in Axis & Allies Europe 1940
Buying “non-official” pieces, despite their wonderful quality, is not my objective: when I spend 90 Euros (more than 120 US$) in a board game, I would like to find the official “correct” molds. Spending more to have best minis should be an option, not an obligation, IMHO.

OFFICIAL REQUEST: ITALIAN MOLDS in A&A Europe 1940posted in Axis & Allies Europe 1940
Hi all.
Some day ago, Larry Harris in person told in his forum that in the new A&A Europe 1940 Italy won’t have her specific molds for the units used in game (except tank and infantry). Considering that Italy is a major power in the game, independent from Germany and, of course, from Japan, I don’t understand the reason for this choice: nor commercial, nor historic, nor nothing.
I’m italian and I’m the founder of the unique A&A’s italian players forum on the web. As italian players, we OFFICIALLY REQUEST Larry with the creation of specific molds to represent the italian units on the battle board. I’m here to ask your support, the support of the greatest A&A’s web community. This is not a nationalistic or political request, the conduct of the war by the italian forces is not the argument of this request: this is only a request about the GAME. Please sign down this topic if you agree, I personally will put a link at this topic (and at the similar topic we putted in our italian forum: http://axisandallies.forumup.it/viewtopic.php?t=1114&mforum=axisandallies) on the Larry’s forum in the next days.
A game with specific molds for EVERY nation would be funnier, greater, better, and personally I’d rather spend 10 € more than not having specific italian molds. The new game is still 6 months far to be released, the time to repair the consequences of this bad and incomprehensible choice is enough.
Thank you for your support.

I voted for Stalingrad and Other.
My “other” game would be A&A: North Africa, with Italian forces, convoy raids and commandoes…

RE: Italian Strategiesposted in 1941 Scenario
In my experiences, UK doesn’t take France because Germany had already destroyed UK’s fleet. So, in my opinion, Italy could buy 1 TRN + 1 INF, then unload troops to Egypt or Trans-Jordan with the sustain of the 2 cruisers, while the BB should rest in SZ 14 to protect the newly bought transport. During NCM, FIG from Italy should land in Lybia, from where it can move to all territories in which Italy could combat in I2.
But overall, it all depends if you play with National Objectives or not.

RE: Building Italian fleet - is there a point?posted in 1941 Scenario
@Fighter:
anyone tried a 1 inf + transporter build round one with italy?
then perhaps supplementing it with a carrier and a fighter later one
Me. I think this is the best choice for Italy: move 2 cruisers and the transport to SZ 15 to take Egypt or Tans-Jordan and DON’T move the BB to protect the newly-built transport, and by the second turn you can unload 4 land units and use all shore bombardments. On the next turns, you have to buy some naval units to make italian fleet stronger: fleet is the unique weapon of the Italy and even its worst weak point…

RE: National Advantages in AA50posted in House Rules
During WW2, Italy had a very large submarine fleet, they fought also in the Atlantic, starting from the base on Bordeaux.
Italy had also had the best navy commandoes, they were forg-men. Because my english isn’t good, I invite you to read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decima_Flottiglia_MAS
Thank you.
