      yea this a complete joke. The guy is deliberately trolling the A&A members who he swindled over 100 grand out of and is laughing his ass off. Probably chinese communist.

      Drug Larry’s name through the mud too saying he had his approval to make the game and uses this site to do it.

      @superbattleshipyamato

      BBR is a mod by Siredblood. 34 of us played in STL in Feb. Main game in Atlanta in september. Its different which keeps it fun.

      PBEM meant play by email but its a euphemism for an asynchronous game (played 1 turn at a time remotely). Today its PABI (Play asynchronously by internet). You can also seralize a live game the same way (leaving it set up and only playing 1 turn a day or week). The “forum” is that people post the turn here on the internet–you publish your Tripple AAA log to this website and then they load that into their version of Tripple AAA, because its not a modern networked style game like Axis and Allies online.

      PBM was when people would play chess by post–setting the board up at both their houses and then sending a note, letter or postcard for each move.

      Check the range of V weapons. Four spaces is too long of a distance. Also, the new tech units it needs to be clear: When you get say King Tigers do all your tanks go “Poof” and become Tigers , or from that point on are any tanks you build…Tigers. The later idea is much more realistic.

      I don’t know how much you’re willing to pay, but if you can find it for its original price ($50) then you are doing well. I know of two places to look: BoardGameGeek (BGG) and eBay.

      As of today (20200919):

      BoardGameGeek has two available, $150 in the US, Euro 85 in France.

      eBay has one available, $190 in the US.

      I hope that helps.

      @crsluggo Why would you still defend him, in any event. You still don’t know what the product is, there are only limited ways to make something for a certain amount of money and time–much less a quality product. He may still deliver; what is delivered in that case is the question. I don’t know what will or will not happen, but he has my money–and I was a fool to give it to him. Whatever process has taken place, if it produces a quality game with the minis promised and playable rules, I’ll eat my hat.

      He’s an endless stream of talk. If that generates work and money from thin air and beyond all reasonable explanations, it wont be the first time–and like I said–I dont predict the future only the past.

      After some reading I found that the Copenhagen Convention of 1857 named the Danish Straights an International Waterway free to all military and commercial shipping. This is not the case for the Turkish Straights which were directly controlled by Turkey.

      In light of that I have changed my stance and believe that while Denmark is neutral (doesn’t matter if pro axis/allies as far as game terms) warships from either side should be able to pass through the straight until the Germans (or allies) take it. Once Denmark is activated then passage of the straight is controlled by that power.

      Also found that Churchill had a plan (Operation Catherine) to put a large surface fleet into the Baltic in the spring of 1940 to disrupt trade between Germany, Russia, Sweden (iron ore) etc…but the plan was shelved.

      Hitler invaded Denmark and Norway for control of this waterway to keep the allies out of the Baltic, and gain bases along the Norwegian coastline. This would insure trade, and better access to the North Sea (sub warfare and merchant raiding).

      @WILD:

      If I’m going to spend IPCs on an IC I would wait until I have Western Ukraine (it should fall quickly), that way any units I build in W Ukraine and Ukraine could be with-in striking distance of Moscow.  You don’t need more units to push into Russia, but you need more units to finish them off. That way if the allies fly a bunch of ftrs into Moscow you can build more units at the front, Romania isn’t going to help you in the later stages of your Moscow campaign. The only possible help a Romanian IC will give you later is if the allies try to come up though the Balkans mid game.

      When I did it, i ofcourse filled all of the w ukraine IC as soon as i got it as well. I also built a minor in rostow and once I had Rostow, ukraine  and stalingrad, I produced 9 infs there every turn, keeping the russian bottled up in moscow, while using the infs/arts to release my more mobile elements to attack the middle east from the north. Persia and iraq should fall once you come crashing down wtih 40+ units. The brit could perhaps challenge this. if UK has the minor IC in iran, iraq and in egypt from UK2/3, they should be able to have a lot of units being able to trade cauc and nw persia for a few turns.

      Over a year ago, there was a discussion thread somewhere on this forum (I can’t recall in what section) about GTO’s demise.  As I recall, GTO was supposedly saying that it was shutting down temporarily and that it would return sometime in the following year with a new game that it would be offering in some kind of partnership with Larry Harris rather than WotC.  The details were quite vague, and nothing seems to have come of that initiative…assuming that it was indeed an initiative that had any substance to it, rather than just speculation.

      @seancb:

      We aren’t really seeking any realism. We used our imagination on this and simply like to say “It’s 1944, where’s D-Day?” and throw other such taunts as appropriate for the Axis or Allies. We’ll just continue with our 6 month system for simplicity. […] At the end of the day it doesn’t matter it just makes it fun for us to imagine where we are in the war.

      One advantage of knowing what year of the war you’re in at any given time is that, if your game includes any house-ruled Otto Skorzeny-type German infiltrators wearing American uniforms, it will influence the answer to the identification question “Who won the World Series last year?”  :-D

      Come to think of it, I think that a casting error (similar to the one in the original Guadalcanal printing) actually did once produce some “green German” infantry units, which are now prized by collectors.

      Just bought this game by Sean Michael Inc. What a fun game!! Some of the rules needed a bit of clarifying and we made some assumptions. We also had to take a sharpie marker to some of the borders  on the map to distinguish. We played about 10 of these in a row. Much more dynamic than D-Day or any of the other tactical games. We enjoyed the short setup time and ease of play. Highly recommended. If you own any A&A set you won’t need the pieces.

      Bombers taking off from Guam and Wake Island (each with an AB) can also land in the above territories.

      This isn’t a change, it has always been a latent exploit.

      The only thing you need to do to avoid the “UK/ANZAC” stub move here is to leave the units on their transports.

      Since you always have a substantial fleet in SZ 36 (for example) covering the TTs to prevent their destruction, there is not really a risk here.  The only opportunity lost is the option dumping the troops off in Kwangsi of using the transports to bridge/run up north on your next turn, rather than invade islands, Malaya, india etc.    But, since you moved the TTs down to SZ 36 in the first place, there is little reason to reverse this direction…

      Also, the UK/ANZAC early declaration of war “decouples” America from the alliance.  UK often does this in order to get NOs.  Once this occurs, there is no “tripwire” besides the fall of London to bring the US in.

      As you guys have discussed, Japan attacking early brings the US in big and early, and often 100% pacific, since many good J1 strategies involve intimidating and warding the US navy off.  Waiting till J3 or J4 seems unwise, unless you have some kind of gambit brewing, because

      you cannot reach threshold income during general peace UK and ANZAC should be quite tough by J3 or J4, with plenty of unabated income you only get to attack Russia and China in the meantime, which doesn’t advance goals except possibly the G2/I2/J2 Russia-crush.
