      The captain of U-236 takes a last look around with his periscope before ordering his boat to continue on its way.  They have surfaced in order for the radio room to receive their new orders from the Naval HQ in Kiel.  A junior officer approaches.

      Sir, Admiral Doenitz has just sent us our new orders.  It is part of his plan to save us from the wrath of the British Destroyer forces.

      Well, what is it then?  Better torpedoes?  More long-range air patrols?  Better detection equipment?  Boats that can fire while submerged?  Boats big enough so we don't all have to share the same bathroom?  Spit it out, man!

      No sir.  The plan is... we're going to be used as fodder in an attack on a British Destroyer!

      When you put it that way…the plan does seem flawed

      OK, there is my middle moves for the Allies.

      :? I have.  I built a CV in 109, but the game didn’t let me move the fighters from the UK to the boat.  Did I have to do this in NCM or does the AAA engine just not allow it?  I used Edit to fill by carrier, so if that is no longer then go ahead and reverse it.

      I went a bit too fast there and missed your sneaky Russian naval base.  This map is the same as above I just edited 2 ncms in China.

      That base has been 3 turns in the building it’s so sneaky  :-D.  I had originally planned to build it R2, but didn’t clue into the DOW requirement for the US to land in Russia, so it got delayed until 3.

      Just out of curiosity, did you mean sneaky in how it facilitate a US siberian shuck, or for the range it gives the US down the Chinese coast?

      We’re nearly in the same boat regarding games, this is #6 for me, including only 1 with the real boards.  I haven’t been able to finish a game completely yet, even the FtF one was called early after round 4.

      It does seem like you got diced in SZ109, but honestly, you should have gone into that expecting to lose at least 1 Bomber since I’m rolling on twice as many 4s as you are.

      Unless dropping +2 INF into Normandy is going to change the odds against an Italian move on there, that attack seem very high-risk for little reward since there is little I can do with that TT in the short-term that won’t involve more losses.  Either way take some comfort that the Russians didn’t pop as many Germans as they might have on a really good day… I still haven’t recalled Vasily Zeitsev back from the Siberia yet.

      Speaking of which, I see you are trying the Siberia-shuck in a game against Zhukov44… it will be interesting to see how that goes.  I’m not completely sold on it, but it is worth a shot, and Allied options are limited.

      Two comments there.  For the first part, my target was the destroyer, not the transport.  I dont mind trading bombers for fighters either, so I was thinking get a couple hits in the first round, and maybe get lucky enough to have a sub hit and get the DD right away, then whatever happens is a good result for me.

      The game against Zhuk was started just to try out the AAA engine and get me back onto the forum, I have been away for a year working.  Counting this one, and one OOB FtF, I now have a total of 4 global games started since release, so I dont have much of a concept for how the games will play out.

      The siberian move was a play based on how far, I preceive, the Japanese to be over extended south.  I’ll have to see how it plays out.
