I have noticed the Importance of this Island too…I usually dont have to take the Solomon islands because on my first turn I pretty much Cripple the US fleet…in Sea Zone 5 and 9…and the British Fleet too.
But by Keaping New Britian it means less Mobilization for the British Navy,Which goes hand in hand with having Malaya, Java, and Hong Kong -

I use this for my Pacific version, If the Japanese attack pearl Harbour(sea zone 9) Then On the American Turn they get two carriers in Sea Zone 23 and 4 bombers that HAVE to go on a Strategic Bombing run to Japan…whether there are Japanese ships in sea Zone 23 or not. After the Bombing Run, if the BOmbers survive…than the American rolls a dice…if its a one and a two…the bombers die before making it to China…if its a three or a four…then half of your bombers die(If 3 Bombers than take off one, if one bomber left than no losses)Then in Anwhe(Or hopei if Japanese took it) Place two American Infantry for each Bomber survived. If Rolled a 5 or a 6 than all bombers survive to play 2 infantry each on Anwhe(or Hopei) to Join the Chinese Crusade against Japan…do you like…does it need to be tweaked around abit?

I have only found 2 Scenarios for Pacific…A 1941 Accurate version that actually gives the Allies a good chance to win, I like it, and an Interesting 1937 version, can you guys find any other Scenarios for AA:Pacific?

If the ships move one space to do battle, then yes they can move…and yes, I am guessing you can Blitz to capture a convoy route

Err…I move my carriers to the Aleutian Islands space and then send my fighters out, rather, I do this to avoid the extra submarine in the Line Island space and the Destroyer down by Samoa from entering the battle

Its easy…I always send two subs and and two fighters from the Midway Carrier into Hawaii…then the remaining four to the US West Coast fleet, then I move the carrier to the See zone with the Auletian islands, after my turn I move the Planes from the Caroline Islands to the Midway carrier…after that the US should counter attack…you will lose most likely but you will cripple the US Air Force
