    • RE: CHINA IS TOO STRONG!

What the Japanese need to do is to cut off the Burma Road so the Chinese only get 2 Infantry per turn. Then, with your forces in Machuria, slowly pick-apart the Chinese defenses to keep the Chinese busy.

    • RE: Wich game is the best to begin playing with?

I said A&A:E because I found out of all three games A&A:E was the easiest to learn and play.

    • RE: What Other Strategy Board Games Do You Recommend???

I would recommend several games some simple, some harder.I think Risk is a great option for young and old alike. You can understand the rules within an hour and have a game over within 2 hours. Also,Risk is relatively cheap ($20 U.S. funds). The second game I recommend is Stratego,a simple, yet difficult game that even I have yet to master.

    • RE: A House Rule for A&A Europe

I like it.:D If I were you,I’d use the Cap (Combat Air Patrol) rules from A&A:Pacific for your house rule.

    • RE: Help! Don't understand "FIRST STRIKE"

I understand what you are saying, but what happens if both subs survive and want to roll again.Do these subs have “First Strike” or not?IF so how many rounds of this battle is “First Strike” applicable if the subs survive? :-?

    • Help! Don't understand "FIRST STRIKE"

I have a hard time understanding the subs “First Strike” capability. Frankly, I find it a pain since the rules are not very clear about it. :x Can you help me?

    • RE: A&A Generals

I voted that your idea needs some work because you forgot that aside from being in Africa,Rommel also helped build the massive defense system in Normandy before the Allied invasin.

I voted for A&A:E because I love that game.Sure, A&A:Pacific is lots of fun, but,in my mind A&A:E is the best. :D

    • RE: Blitz to Caucausus?

I said take Caucausus because of its IPC value and it allows the German player to Choose to either swing into the Mid-East or turn the corner on the Russians.

    • Situation in the Mid-East

I’ve played A&A:E for several years and I need some help with this scenario.

The Germans are planning an assault on Syria and Egypt. The Germans have a fleet of 2 transports,a battleship, and 2 destroyers all within two spaces from the Eastern Med seazone. The 2 tranports each pick-up 1 Infantry unit and 1 Artillery unit. The whole fleet then moves to the Eastern Med.Since there are no Allied ships in the seazone, the German warships can support the landings. Now 1 transport is going to land its units in Egypt while the other transport is going to land its units in Egypt.

My question is this, can the warships split up to support each landing (i.e. the destroyers support the Syrian landing while the battleship supports the Egyptian landing) or do they have to support one and only one of the landings?

    • RE: About the Game Tray

Hey,if you like the trays that are all sorted out, that’s fine. :) I personaly use and like the black tray that comes with the game because it helps save space on your table.

    • RE: Axis and Allies Europe-1939?

I’ve played the 1939 version on thrashers page and it is horrible. :x I didn’t like the fact that the setup was tipped in the Allies favor. They could have done a better job on it.This scenario reflects poorly on thrashers’ A&A page.

I have found lots of spare pieces at ebay or you can e-mail Avalon Hill games for pieces.

    • RE: Just a simple question: how do i win?

First off,Germany needs to take just one capital to win the game(Moscow,Great Britain,or the U.S.).I personally try to take all three capitals if I have the time or luck. This is a very difficult task to say the least.

    • RE: I need a bigger map!!!

I’ll admit it,I like the A&A:E map. It’s a lot better than the A&A map.I like the fact that the Germans and the Russians can use their land as a defense as well as their respective units.I personaly think this map is actually less cramped as the original one.I also like the fact that everybody starts out the game with more units in this version.

    • RE: Historically Accurate Pieces?

Hey! You’re complaining about the the accuracy of the pieces and I disagree totally.I personaly think it’s a major upgrade compared to the bland pieces of the original game.I love the fact that instead of using rough models of tanks I get to use real units that fought in the war.The British did use the Sherman as well as the Churchhill and other tanks. As for the Americans, the 105mm Howitzer was one of the most produced artillery units in the war. Also,it was the best for it’s cost. The Germans used the Pz.III and Pz.IV quite a bit during World War II,but for simplicity sake Avalon Hill used the Panther as the German armor unit.

The only thing I would change is instead of German Stukas,I would use the FW-190 as their fighter. Also the P-38 wasn’t a light bomber, but a big, twin engined fighter.
