      @diabo:

      some transports which he unloads in germany. except one guy going to poland.

      One guy, i.e. Infantry?
      You know a transport merely can disembark units to one territory per turn, which ends its turn immediately. So you can’t take a transport, ship one unit to Germany via SZ113 and sail on to SZ114 to put an infantry to poland.
      You can’t even put one to Western Germany and one to Germany in the same turn from the same transport…
      Just a reminder ;-)

      I am grateful for your comments. Therefore i like to answer your questions.

      As Germany i bought for starters only artillery, later mostly just tanks and mech. I lost some planes due bad dice, so i took moscow with just one tank, two tacs and 1 strategic bomber left. Germany has 79 IPCs in the treasury. The allies were keen to do KGF, which was noticeable about round 3, so I took some precautions to that event buying some inf etc. round 4, 5 and 6.

      Russia defended well, but didnt move troops from Leningrad back to Moscow. This did the trick, actually. I kind of lured him into it. This worked quite well.

      Japan just took India kind of following the idea of Submersed Elk with his “J2/I2” plan. It worked quite well. America never really interfered in the Pacific, so Japan had nothing else to do than conquering all spots possible to reach. One by one. Islands taken in J3, 2 MinorICs built, too. China got smashed in Round 4, India J6. Most battles were extra-safe.  :wink:
      Japan bought 1 AC, 2 des, 2 trn, 1 fig and 4 inf. Still not placed, income is at 75 sth.
      Russia tried as well to split Japanese forces helping out in China. It took 2 rounds to knock this big stack out, one Russian inf still being left there in manchuria.

      The UK had some problems getting into the game, because Italy disturbed its progress in africa just by active defense. Which means attacking only when necessary and with good odds just for delaying movements.
      I forgot to mention that those british troops in the caucasus and yugoslavia are mere ideas of the british player of future moves.

      Italy had some bad dice at the beginning, never made more than 18 IPCs but helped out in the east can-opening.

      In denkmark the US has 6 inf, 2 mech, 3 tnk.  Income at 85. Played well, but split his forces.

      ANZAC only forgot one NO.

      I did some testing in TripleA and could win as Japan taking Australia easily, even with an US poised to save it from this. Germany could still generate an income above 40 for some rounds due to sticking to moscow etc. My plan is/was just to hold and defend actively until Japan would eventually win.

      I hope this game can be continued one day…

      @special:

      Well, i was being sarcastic about taking Canada ;)

      Of course, as Axis there wouldn’t be anything wrong in going after Gibraltar, or controlling the Atlantic, or even snatching brazil.
      But as a US player allowing all this, that would be really really bad play.

      i agree with that.

      mostly, because it is not this difficult to keep the axis out of gibraltar.

      but what I’m saying is that germany would use too much IPC taking england and would not have enough forces to take russia. In those extra turns russia will have the forces from moscow and Stalingrad on the front and will be a strong force. I was a little liberal with the strategy though. In my opinion if England can buy enough infantry to make it a 50/50 deal, and get the germans to invest the money into a Sea-Lion, than I would think it would be a gamble that the allies would be more than welcome to take. But I agree you should not give your capital too the germans… even though I recently said too… I= fool.

      @rock`n:

      on page 23 there is written:
      germany
      “5 IPC if Axis powers control either novgorod or volgograd.”

      does it mean, that the german player can get up to 10 IPC when controlling both cities?

      No.

      @rock`n:

      United kingdom/United states

      “collect a one-time payment of 5 IPCs if the first time UK/USA forces capture or liberate one of the following territories: normandy, holland or western germany.”

      does it mean, that UK/USA can gain up to 15 IPCs or maximum 5 IPCs? for me as not a native speaker of english it is not quite clear.
      if someone as UK or USA captures holland he gains 5 IPCs. okay, but when the same player occupies normandy next round or in the same round. what is then? etc.

      The payment is received only the first time that one of those territories is captured/liberated by each power.  Nothing further is received for capturing or liberating another of the territories.  Each power may earn only 5 IPCs per game from this NO.

      I recently played my first alpha 2 game, and it did at much needed balance too the game buy lessening of the American war time economy. Also with the addition of infantry and fodder to the german war machine. Anyways, in a regular A&A Europe 1940, if the axis don’t have the game won on turn six is practically impossible. This is because on turn seven, even an incompetent USA player will have enough amassed force to destroy a province and gain a foothold in europe which is the end. The only chance Germany would have is if they control russia and have all their forces in france and central europe.

      What he said.

      @vontysk:

      Why can’t it carry on to a Pro-Allies Neutral Yugoslvia?

      Because Yugoslavia is a friendly neutral territory, not a friendly territory.  Once claimed by an Allied power, it will become friendly, but not before.

      You could do the same, faster and easier, from Gibraltar.

      Gibraltar also threatens 2 capitals. And actually matters for your income.

      Iceland is a pipe dream, saved for the day that your friends won’t quit until you have ousted them from every territory on the board.

      so you see no chance for the axis to win?

      i think, the japanese airpower is still a real threat to the us navy. second, small numbers of transport available or nearby to start landing operations for the usa.

      in europe, i agree mostly, but i see a big defensive potential in germany. it could stall a lot, couldn´t it?

      greetings and thanx for the answer.

      if the brits have a ship in sz 119, (the one left of Scotland) by T2 you can plug the canal at 112 T3 and hold up sea lion til T4 giving the US time to counter
