      hm my aim is to weeken the british fleet and press hard to Russia from turn 2 on. I like a straight hard push to Moskau. It should be a little bit easier in Alpha+3… With some help from the other axis it could work but I have to try it in FTF with my buddy and some beer  :-D

      thanks jen, wish you luck against garg if you need it :-)

      @Cmdr:

      @shadowguidex:

      It’s not designed to kill the UK fleet, it’s designed to get UK chasing your subs al over the map, make them buy Destroyers, diffuse their fleet, and spread out. The longer you can keep UK chasing subs and building destroyers the better.  Germany needs to build Artillery on G1 not subs.

      Agreed.

      @Robson:

      I know but with 3 subs in that zone who only hits the destroyer and the transporter it might work.
      The defender must take the transporter as his last casuality so the first hit get to the destroyer so you need only one hit from 3@2. The lost subs from this battle could easily replaced in turn 2.

      Try 2 Submarines, 3 Fighters, 3 Tactical Bombers and a Strategic Bomber if you want to hit this zone.  You can couple it with 2 submarines to SZ 106 and get both British Transports if that is your aim.  This was my attack when setting up Sea Lion because it stopped any of the Canadian units from getting to London in time.

      Thanks for the input, I see the problem clearer now.
      My aim were the british destroyer not the transporter.
      Perhaps I have to change the numers of attacking units.
      Do you think it is better to let one destroyer survive insted of the battleships?

      @shadowguidex:

      G1 (Purchase 7 ART)
      –--------------------
      2 SUB to Canada
      2 SUB to 91
      6 INF, 2 ART from Southern Germany to Yugo, 1 INF from Slovakia to Yugo, retreat all to Slovakia after one round of fighting
      3 INF, 1 MECH, 1 TANK, 2 ART to Normandy
      4 TANK, 4 INF, 1 ART, 3 MECH, 2 TAC, 2 FTR to France
      1 BB, 1 CA, 1 FTR, 1 TAC to 112
      1 SUB, all other aircraft to 111
      I don’t bother attacking 110 - not worth it and they have no DD there.

      NCM 4 INF to Finland
      NCM 1 INF to Bulgaria
      NCM 9 INF to Poland

      G2 (Build 10 ART, 10 INF)

      Everything from front attacks Eastern Poland.
      Aircraft threaten Britain
      NCM everything else to Poland (except token defenders

      From here on in, check the number of zones you need to move to assault Moscow on G8…build accordingly.  Once Art/Inf cannot make it, change to Tank/Mech, once they cannot switch to TAC, then on G7 build STR.  Move everything into Moscow G8.  If Russia turtles and pulls everything into Moscow, you can just capture everything…if they don’t turtle you have enough concentrated might to capture Moscow anyway, and mop up afterwards.  Ignore Leningrad.

      Great Moves, but what´s going on in SZ 109?
      I think it would be better to send 3 subs to SZ109 because
      all of your hits go to the ships and there you can Raid UK.
      The other 2 subs go to Canada as in your move. What do you think about?
      In that case UK has no destroyer to attack your subs in turn 2.

      @Young:

      @Dany:

      Nice report!

      It seems that u are positioned to attack Russia and then its is prolly wise to follow throw. Japan and Italy will help weaken their economy from the east and south and if you avoid to much trading with the Germans the AA guns should not cause you to much problem. Might wanna to get some extra art into the mix and use them for trading.

      Also SZ 120 is not a convoy zone so you might want to send those subs somewhere else.

      Good luck!

      Thanks for pointing that out, I forgot that a sea zone actually needs the covoy symbol in order to be eligible for disruptions. :roll:

      Germany is acually well positioned to attempt either sealion or barbarssa, but it is crucial that the decision be made immediately. I’m sure I will follow through with Russia and find a method of attack around those AA Guns. I guess I should be a little grateful for Russia spending on such a unit, especially if I use my entire air force against the British navy and start pounding out tanks against Russia. I still feel that the AA gun rule will eventually become a great Russian advantage.

      Italy will have their way as they are making the same $ as London and there is nothing in there way. It’s their war to lose. Japan on the other hand will need to keep a close eye on Alaska as it is the only threatening operation the allies have going for them.

      Thanks for the imput. Any other advice?

      Well I think if Russia spends so much money on aa guns, it´ll be a good thing for Germany.
      If you see that your opponent make this choice, than you could take you aircraft to clear the atlantic with your fleet. Take Russia only with your land units. The AA guns can only taken as casualties and cannot fire back in land battle. So the advantage is on axis side.
      5 Infs are way better than 3 AA guns in my opinion for Russia.

    • RE: 5 U-boats G1?

      Hellos,

      I think that 5 Subs are way too much on Turn 1. Sure you need them in the long run but you also have to buy troops for an early barbarossa in Turn 2 or 3.
      I would buy 1 AC 2 Art and 1 Tank, or eventually 2 Tanks.
      With all the money from G2, I can buy additional subs.

      Hi Krieg and the other PRO´s of AA G Alpha +3,

      If I invade the Baltic States with Italian troops in I2 and reinforce it with German Troops in G3 without a DOW against Russia. Is Germany at war with Russia or not, meaning I get the NO Not at War with Russia 5IPC?
      Thanks for the answer!

    • RE: All Axis attack Russia.

      @AllyAxis:

      Was thinking about this strategy for Alpha 2+ global.

      Has anyone done it successfully?

      Attack J1 soviet far east, amur, sibera.  build a Major in Manchuria and keep UK India /china relatively occupied .  pin down the US fleet with carrier builds and park fighters on it to keep the US building in the pacific.

      Get my Italians to clear Soviet buffer troops (usually one or two units between main armies)  and get the Italy Germany one two punch going.  I found that my mech tank builds were very effective and getting to Russia quickly to support.  but I may not build as many mechs this next game.  I was matching them tank for mech.  but that may only be necessary for clearing forces (IE forces trying to take rostov , caucus ) on the way to moscow.

      Can Japan really turn the tide tho in the All Axis on the Soviets strat?  thoughts anyone?

      Hi James,

      I did it once succesfully. First turn I took France, Normandy and Southern France with Germany, so Italy can move  the troops from Northern Italy to Yugoslavia which was already taken by the Germans Round 1. With this support and Japan invading Russia Turn 2 and building a major Factory in Korea Russia was down.
      The negative side is, that India and ANZAC had no problem to survive and invade the money islands.

    • RE: Alpha 2 - Is it possible to beat Italy?

      hm i didn´t see the problem to beat Italy.
      Put the huge invasion fleet from the U.S. west of Gibraltar. There´s no better way to threaten Italy, the Med, North Africa and the Coast from Normandy to Norway. The Italiens with their little Income can never hold Gibraltar against a serious US Invasion. A that point Italy is screwed because their NO`s are gone in the next turns.

    • RE: German opening.

      I tried to ignore the british fleet once, and it ended badly.
      My Idea was the same, a Barbarossa in Turn 1, and buying all land stuff. The problem is that the first units you send to the east are lost due to Russian revenge round 1. I think it is better to consolidate your troops and attack Russia in turn 2. In that case you can take care of the british fleet.

      ok i should corrected this NO  :-)
      Because of some Operations in the second WW  the NO could be like this: 5 IPC is Canadian Troops are in Normandy, Holland Belgium or Southern Italy

    • RE: Canadian and Finish Troops

      thanks for the replies and the input, I think I will play Finland right after Germany when they are activated with the Income of 2 IPC.
      And Canada played together with UK but with their own Income.
      NO could be, 5 IPC if Canada has troops in North Africa (Marocco - Alexandria) and on one French territory.
      Is this historical correct?

    • Canadian and Finish Troops

      Hello girls and guys,
      I bought some of the painted troops from historicalboardgaming.com for my global game. And some pro-axis and pro-allies neutral too.
      At first I bought them because of the better look of the game.
      Now I want to now, have someone played with this nations separetly? So does Canada has it´s own Income, when does their turn come and so on.
      Help would be great. Eventually I can buy some hungarian or romanian troops also if it works with the turn sequence and the game mechanics. Would be great to have more nations on board.
      Thanks for help!
