I can only guess that the reverse can opener means that US can clear SZ´s which can then be reinforced with british sea units because no european axis have their turn between them.
The most common use of that tactics as far as I know is the liberation of Denmark by US followed by a british surprise attack on Berlin.

RE: Oztea's 1941 Global Setupposted in House Rules
Hello gents,
me and a good friend of mine were playing the lovely oztea41 version and had
a blast so far.
No I feel like I am screwed as the japanese player. I see no chance to find a safe place for
my fleet and invasion looks like it is inevitable.
So far I have played prettty conservative with the Japanese player but still see no chance against the combined
fleet and airforce of the allies in the pacific theatre.
Any idea what I made wrong here?
Also any idea were to find good position for the Japanese fleet?Cheers and have a nice weekend fellow generals.2020-11-24-Japan R7.tsvg

RE: Couple dumb questionsposted in Global War 1936
@hbg-gw-enthusiast Yes your online really is a tutorial for me. I am currently at Round 5 of your game and I keep watching it :-)
Of course you are right about the G2 attack on France. The solo game I am doing is more of a rule learning game to me with no real strategic value so far. Reason being is that I am waiting for couple more parts from HBG to
finally have all units available. -

I have changed the ANZAC nation. Only thing I could not change was the order of play. -
RE: Bismarck or Taranto?posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
for the given szenario I would also prefer to send the fighters to Taranto, simply because the damage in the long run is much bigger if you destroy the italien navy rather then the Bismarck.

RE: Oztea's 1939 Global Setupposted in House Rules
Have been playing the 39 setup for a while now on TripleA but I would love to see the map printed out same size as global 40. Is there a map file out there for oztea´s 39 setup which I can print? Or is it possible to extract the mapfile from TripleA itself?

Tried it already multiple times. It is really great and adds a new perspective for Asia.

RE: Playing Soloposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Did this in the past occasionally but since Covid hit us and we moved to a bigger flat I played Solo games almost every week if nobody is available on TripleA. Benefit for me is to setup the game G40 quite often (a bit of a guilty pleassure to me) and explore new possibillities by adapting starting moves from TripeA games.
At the moment I play only 3G40 (YoungGrasshoppers Tournament Edition) because of the new order of turns and the strategy change that comes with the rule chnages.
To keep the “opponent” behaviour unpredictable I tend to use a dice to determine scramble decision (a 1 will cause scrambling actions for the defender). Saw this online in a YG video and I thought it´s worth to use that.
Still looking forward to meet friends for the post-Covid Face-toface games. -

@victoryfirst just check the latest setup by downloading triplea with the oztea41. That’s what I did for my board.

RE: Robson (X) vs Kilroynothere (A) G40 YGTE - game2 revenge of the dice godsposted in Play Boardgames
@kilroynothere Hey Kilroy, yes the last 2 weeks were quite busy. We had to do lot´s of stuff with school stuff for our kids and my wife is sick now the second week in a row. It´s just a simple flu but since she got Covid last year every small infection like this leaves her sick for at least two weeks now. But I think I will be ready to continue our game this weekend as my parents will visit us and I have some spare time then. The following weekend will be totally awesome. We have planned a Global War 36 game with some other fellars from Europe and me from Friday till Sunday. As this is the first time for me playing this game face to face I am thrilled.
