      @froodster:

      I just had some slow time over christmas when I did start doing that, and now it hasn’t stopped. This morning though I’ve got something that I HAVE to finish, so I won’t be checking in anymore today.

    • RE: A little trouble with air units

      Until either attacker or defender or both are dead, or until attacker decides to withdraw.  No different than combat with ground units.  Treat air units the same as land units in Combat.  No differences (except the AA guns and the fact that you cannot capture a territory with only air).  It’s Combat Movement and Non-Combat Movement that have special rules for air.

    • RE: Better Bid System

      @akreider2:

      For instance, you bid 10, your opponent bids 5.  You should win with an effective bid of 6.

      Since low bid usually wins, shouldn’t your opponent win with a bid of 9 in this scenario?

      HEY FROOD, wanna give this a shot?

    • RE: Does a canal require a transport and another transport question?

      @johnny:

      Can you move a tank two and load on a transport?  or would the load on the transport be the third (and illegal) move?

      @rjclayton:

      2. You cannot make any other movement with cargo that loads and/or unloads.  (eg. you cannot move an armor 1 then load etc.)

      Please read first before posting.

      @froodster:

      Seriously, these forums are eating up WAY too much of my time at work, and I appear to have no self control. I’ve thought of asking our systems guys to block the site for me but I don’t really trust them not to go telling my boss…

      Just thinking the same thing….

    • RE: Find Opponents Here!

      To see what all the fuss is about with TripleA, check out the game thread here:

      http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=8331.0

      All of the moves were generated by TripleA.  If you have no problems following this game thread, then you shouldn’t have any problems with players using (modified) TripleA.

      (btw, I know I made some bad decisions in this game, so try not to be too harsh with your feedback!)

    • RE: TripleA Changes for PBEM

      Another request, this one from Mateooo:

      @mateooo:

      I tried Triple A and liked it, except it is very unforgiving. I kept on clicking one too many times and skipping the noncombat phase. And last time I tried, it seemed there were problems with Ftrs moving and landing on AC. The program required an AC to be within range of the FTRs before combat starts, though I found ways around this by undoing moves.

      I also wish it would allow you to set up the map how you want, to fix mistakes and whatnot. Nice program though.

    • RE: TripleA Changes for PBEM

      Here is another request from Frood:

      @froodster:

      With TripleA my one frustration is that often I move into unit placement only to realize I had not yet done all my non-combat moves. I wish there was a way to step back into non-combat after moving on to unit placement. A workaround I guess is to save the game immediately after combat so you can reload that if you forgot something. I appreciate that you can’t go back to combat declaration once combat resolution has started, but that’s different.

    • RE: Question about DAAK maps

      I think Italy goes right after Germany.  They have to attack separately (just like US/Russia in revised), but all units occupying a territory are allowed to defend if the territory is attacked.

      But I’ve never played this version, so I might be off.

      Patriots will find a way to beat the colts.  But the saints have the heart (and the skillz) to dominate the bears.

      This is why I don’t play proline anymore  :-P

      No really.

    • RE: A little trouble with air units

      OutsideLime is right.  But remember that the owner of the units always decides the casualties.

      If I attack you with 1 inf 1 fgt vs. your 1 inf, and my fighter and inf both miss and your inf hits, 99% of the time I will choose to kill my inf instead of my fgt.  But it is my choice because I own the units in question.

      Remember that and you’ll be ok.

    • RE: Does a canal require a transport and another transport question?

      @johnny:

      Can I move guys across a canal without a transport?

      Yes.

      @johnny:

      If the loading on counts as one move, then how can infantry ever get off the boat except on the next turn?  Thanks.

      1.  Unloading always ends movement for both the transport and the cargo.

      2. You cannot make any other movement with cargo that loads and/or unloads.  (eg. you cannot move an armor 1 then load etc.)

      3.  If it helps, you can think of loading as taking a unit’s full movement, and unloading as movement cost 0 (free move), but always ends movement for all units involved.

      Hope that helps.

      Well, that Chicago defense was nasty.  Good luck to them in the Superbowl.  They’ll need it to deal with Brady after he squeaks one out against Indy later today.

    • RE: TripleA Changes for PBEM

      My only issue with the screenshot posting is that when the web server is offline (or if the site dies), it is very difficult to follow the game.  I think posting a UDR (Unit Deployment Report) at the end of each full round listing all units in each territory would be a useful compromise.
