    • RE: Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread

      Brain,

Lol - thanks for the much needed advice. I just really want FMG to do this the right way, unlike WotC and a bunch of other companies. I am in for at least $200 of pieces if these match colors - I have 2 copies each of Anniversary, Pacific40, (TBA - Europe40) and like 5 of AA42 - just for extra pieces!

To which I repeat… “just like the dice”

Including the gray German dice? See my point?

      FMG,

Could you state what color your German pieces will be when they come out? I want the “official” word.

(and yes, I really really want the Germans to be black, like the 1942/1941/1940 color schemes - I won’t buy them if they come gray)

    • Battle of the Bulge - Stores are running out of copies!

      Guys,

Just a heads up the A&A: Battle of the Bulge is going out of stock in many places online, and I have contacted Wizards of the Coast and received word that, quote “they don’t know if it ever will be reprinted”

It is a great game with awesome opportunities, so buy a copy now so you won’t have to go through the A&A50/eBay fiasco!

    • RE: Italian color?

Red for UK? Uh, we aren’t fighting in the colonial period here.

I think Khaki/Tan is a perfect color for UK.

      Thread necromancy,

But I also STRONGLY desire the FMG colors to match the OOB color. To me, I will use the pieces in a “mix and match” with the original OOB pieces, keeping the A&A Italian Infantry and tank, mabe a couple others, and blending in the FMG pieces. Color matching needs to be superb.

Maybe frame the poster - but it is definitely worth serious $$ to some collectors.

    • A&A Anniversary Dilemma - to open or not?

So I have a copy of A&A50, still sealed, with the shipper box. It is my only copy, bought in the last few weeks cheaply. I don’t play A&A that often, maybe twice a month, and my gaming group is still sinking it’s teeth into A&AP40 and A&A1942. My choices:

      a. Open it now, and play with it, $400 value be darned!

      b. Keep it sealed for future use and/or until I find another copy and/or until a reprint is announced and is enroute.

      As a comparison:

      http://www.coolstuffinc.com/main_boardGame.php?viewType=view%20board%20games&fp=Acc-AVHAxisandAllies1942

      Axis & Allies 1942 - $19.99
      Free shipping over $100

Yoper, nice prizes! I appreciate you supporting local guys - Cool Stuff is about the same distance from me (42 miles  8-) )

Shameless plug - your order for 8 of A&A 1942 at Fair Play was $179.60 w/free shipping, at Cool Stuff it would have been $159.92 w/free shipping, which means it is $19.68 cheaper - which would have bought you another game!

      /end shameless plug

      fug,

I did a lot of research and came up with an answer. the original site I had found was www.dreamlandcomics.com, but shipping costs kill the good deals.

      I now use www.coolstuffinc.com - awesome prices, and free shipping over $100 = A&AP1940 + 2 Of A&A1942 for $102… Not bad, eh?

    • RE: My modifications to A&A Pacific 1940 (new pieces, etc)

Use the old Red Japanese A&AP Infantry for that - or potentially the old Yellow Japanese Infantry from A&A 2nd Edition.

Sounds like a good idea - care to post the full rule?

      Uh dude….

The game isn’t even out yet. We have no idea what the rules are, or the map.

      Brain,

Correct - except for Germany. Hence my post - I really feel this is the make or break key to fiscal success for FMG. (I have seen too many plastic-pieced games fail because they overlooked the #1 market, A&A fans)
