I asked Jack, and he said there will be 8 countries represented:
1. USA
2. UK
3. USSR
4. GERMANY
5. JAPAN
6. ITALY
7. FRANCE(yes!!!)
8. SURPRISE!! (I don’t want to say, but a cool power to add)

Mine came in a box! Perfect contents, postage paid.
He’s looking into it! (and it may be far away!)
Other than the nice Italian tank & Inf, the sculpts suck in Anniversary - 1942 is a HUGE improvement over the Anniversary sculpt quality.
I kinda like the idea of having Filipino units. Just maybe a lighter colour of the U.S. with a couple different sculpts. I’d also give them a minor factory to spend there income. This might help balance Pacific. Buy the way there probably wouldn’t be that many pieces.
Turtle, you came up with the Scout idea, and Finnman upped it to a minor IC - for 1 territory, that is a bit much. even China has 10+ territories for it’s units.
I’ve always thought that TT has the best quality A&A pieces - maybe not as detailed, but really really good plastic.
Variable,
Can you save the drawings and post here?
I’ll lend you a pair of binoculars? Pleeeeeaaaaasssseee x2 :-)
Hello? Historical Accuracy, anyone?
Filipino Scouts and an IC? Seriously?
In order for FMG to make any money, a little standardization is in order (He probably will have to make batches of 2,000-5,000 sets of pieces at a time!).
So Neutrals will probably be 1 color, and possibly 2 (pro-axis/pro-allied).
Not too sure about the rest of your suggestions…
North Africa seems to be the best option:
1. Chance for new Italian units
2. Cool early war German tanks
3. Fluid battlefront, with strongpoints (Tobruk)
David,
How can we cut back on the Spam/Medical garbage posts?
personally, I think Guadalcanal is cheaper to buy just for new Hellcats - and it comes with cruisers!
7.50 IF you find a copy - trust me, I went to 5 different ones!
I do a mini-game - I demonstrate first how units fight - I grab 1 infantry and 1 tank vs 1 infantry and 1 tank, and we “roll” a battle. We move up to a 5v5 battle afterwards.
then, I explain movement - simple, and then I talk about sea units.
Lastly, I explain how you purchase units. I am always ready to help out with hints DURING a game, and I point out things I am doing so the other player knows how to respond.
None on mine as well - 2x Pacific 1940 and Guadalcanal, or 5x 1942.
I just don’t want FMG’s pieces to turn into Eagle Games lookalikes (overdetailed)- and I think he is doing a great job with the Italian pieces. If you look closely, the ships are simply detailed, look like 1942 pieces, but very obvious as to what power they belong to - like FMG molded the pieces for the original game. A continuation of OOB pieces, if you will.
Each game is different - out of the “battle” series of games, I prefer D-Day/Bulge/Guadalcanal, but that doesn’t mean Guadalcanal is the worst, it is just the 3rd place game in that lineup.
I honestly don’t get why AA50 is so revered - the pieces suck compared to AA42, the map is somewhat flimsy - but it has a HUGE box… yay.
What I did with my set of AA50 was buy 2 sets of AA42 at Target ($15 each, $30 total!) and was able to throw in LOTS of extra chips, and completely swapped out the US/UK/Germany/USSR/Japan pieces for the much better AA42 ones. The control markers and the charts are nice, but we buy Axis & Allies for the plastic pieces! Otherwise, we have warehouses full of thick, counter-based games to choose from.
Just my $0.02 - and in my opinion, the AAP40 and AAE40 games ROCK - I will buy 3 sets of AAE40 just for the pieces alone! (Finally - French & Italians!)
One problem with making a mold “too detailed” is it starts looking almost cartoonish - plastic is a hard material to work with.
