    • RE: ~Latest & Greatest A&A Video~

      Maybe you should have played it out another turn or 2. Germany and Japan might have been able to capture Moscow. But then it appeared that they would lose Germany so…

      How the hell did Germany pull off Sealion turn 1? They don’t have the forces to do so.

    • RE: Italy's role?

      Italy needs to build its income up before the USA enters the war. So they need to clear the med of ships and take over Africa both of which Italy has the forces to do with minor German help.

    • RE: Anti-American Strategy

      In one game I played I had the USA fleet heading for Africa and Germany still had enough of a fleet to cause major losses so they moved to block so I changed directions with my fleet to head to Europe thinking I had just pulled a fast one on them. The next German turn they landed said fleet(along with fully loaded transports) in Mexico…I was pretty shocked, never did I think that was the intention of the German fleet. I figured they would go to Rome or Africa to renforce Itay there. So if the German player is willing to take insane risks you can slow America down.

    • RE: Idea for a turn 5 axis win. [preventable]

      If France isn’t taken by turn 1 Germany is in trouble and the UK will thank you for leaving France intact.  Also the USA would collect all of South America if you hit a Netural nation like Turkey.  There are a lot of other holes in the plan…you assuming above average dice rolling which can’t be assumed. Your also assuming the Russian player is stupid and doesn’t figure out your plan and move to counter it. Because all Russia really has to do is hold on and wait for the USA to arrive to help. This tactic wouldn’t work on me as a USA player because I would be sitting in Rome turn 5 especially with Italy having no fleet in the med I would just park my fleet in the med and let you take pot shots at it with fighters(that would be fighters you wouldn’t be able to use to help take the other VC).

      Well you wanted to know how to slow the allies down. Fucking around with the USA would do it.

      So what is the point of the rule then? How is it an edge if they can already place units there?

    • RE: Japan/USSR Non-Aggression Pact

      @oztea:

      I think IL meant originally Japanese territories untill turn 4.

      However it should read

      The USSR may not attack original Japanese Territory, or attempt to liberate occupied Chinese territory untill after its fourth turn

      It should also read unless they are attacked still. USSR should be allowed to do more then just reclaim its territory. IMO its a stupid rule.

    • RE: Global Strats- my view

      I don’t get why with america’s ability to buy massive amounts of shit it is seen as a good idea to try and invade Canada…all it does is slow the USA down a turn or 2 and gets whatever army sent to take Canada killed.

    • RE: Japan/USSR Non-Aggression Pact

      @Fishmoto37:

      From ILs 1939 game rules.    NON-AGGRESSION PACT: The Soviet Union and Japan have a special treaty in place. The Soviet player can never attack Japanese territories until Berlin falls. The Japanese player can attack the Soviets as early as turn 4.

      So Russia can’t attack back? That is retarded.

      @bantubob:

      Well, he’s new to A&A Global, but we’ve been playing together for about six years. It wasn’t his best game with Germany, he couldn’t make up his mind between sealion or barbarossa which cost him valuable time, plus he made some questionable purchases and didn’t roll very well.

      So in other words he screwed up big time. That is what I wanted to know. I thought maybe you found a way to break the game lol.

    • RE: I've balanced Global, now 50/50 wins

      That’s how it is in the Hearts of Iron series, USSR + Mongolia = Comintern. So it would be the Comintern vs. Axis vs. Allies. I like that idea because then you could have a Cold War set up too if USSR takes out Germany and the Allies take out Italy and Japan.

      I wonder if anyone has done a cold war situation after an allied(or Axis) win.

    • RE: Sea Lion revisited

      If the med is clear you could also dump it into Africa to make sure its taken by the axis…just a thought haven’t played the axis yet in global though.

    • RE: I've balanced Global, now 50/50 wins

      I wonder if the allies could still win with Russia on the AXIS side. Because for a while Russia(having no fleet) would be limited in what it could do other then help defend the other axis powers.

      So the USA can place a free battleship in a sea zone? As if it doesn’t have enough of an IPC edge already.

      @larrymarx:

      I agree with everything Nagano just said based on my own experience.

      I would add, however, that the Taranto raid combined with support from the Indian navy and air force makes advancing in Africa a much harder prospect. If Britain does this combined with a US KIF strategy, I don’t think Italy has a chance of making it past Egypt no matter what Germany does. When I play the Allies, this is my strategy of choice.

      Yes, the allies can do that, but then japan is unchecked

      Honestly imo in the global game Japan is a lot less of a threat then Germany because America can always come back and crush them later on.

    • RE: Need help forming strategy: Operation Penta-"gone". When US builds KIF?

      They need to fix it that if Canada falls the USA is brought into the war. Depending on the USA build up in the EUSA they might try and retake Canada…but I think the USA could hold out a turn with the forces you listed in Canada and then they could build a massive army. What about an attack on both coasts? Can it be pulled off?

    • RE: 3 thoughts to slow the allies

      Wouldn’t ramping up the USA income allow an agressive and/or stupid(depending on how it turns out) Japan player to have a legit shot at taking and holding the west USA if they pushed everything into that? Assuming they were able to hold Japan at the same time.

      Was he a new player? No way you should have been able to win that quickly unless he screwed up big time. He has troops to hold out longer then that.
