      The game is already unbalanced in favor for the allies in 2nd edition. You want to give them even more money so germany and japan have no chance of winning at all.
      If anything the axis need some extra NO’s or some of the easy captures should be worth more money.
      Maby remove the mongolia rule from the game and make it its own true neutral.

      That’s funny, because from what I hear the online community normally gives the Allies a bid of 8-12 ipcs.

      Hi, everybody,
      How about an elite unit (marine, commando, SS, guard, etc.) the same ability for every country?

      Elite unit: Att: 2 Def: 2 Move: 1 cost: 4, give +1 att. to one artillery or one tank, on the second round of an assault (amphibious or terrestrial). Think of it like the time to get used to the environnement and the geography of the terrain, or being able to reach and pass the shore to fight inland.

      For example, if a marine unit paired with an artillery survived his first round of landing assault; on the second round, it attacks at 2, but artillery attacks at 3, instead of 2.
      It is the same if it was teamed up with a tank. On first round, the tank attacks at 3, and on the second round it attacks at 4.
      In summary, it works like artillery but gives better punch on costlier unit.

      What do you think?

      Should we raised the cost to 5? Because their will be no more inf (cost 3)+art (cost 4)?

      It seems that I borrowed some of these ideas from Pjor in Two units threads:

      Now to the point, new units and models.
      First; Veteran infantry. A:2 D:2 M:1 cost: 5.
      This unit is supposed to represent elite soldiers of each power. They are better trained, equipped and have a higher morale then the normal infantry. For example the SS Stormtroopers, British Commando or U.S Rangers. Special rules for the Veteran infantry is that if teamed up with a arty the attack value will rise to 3.

      P.S. Sorry for my approximate english (not my native tongue)…

      Yes, I just order it. A must for my 1939 gameboard but if I can get some other figuries as field commander I could introduce general rules such discuss in the other tread. A new rule as defender retreat should be cool.

      I think I would like an actual piece to represent a rail head (as Larry refers to it). I like Razor/Eagle take on RR to be more like an AB/NB. RR should give extra movement to ground units that’s a given. All original IC’s should come w/RR. To take it one step further, each victory city should get one too. After that buy them at 15 ipc’s like the other facilities.

      Some issues to over come:

      A) Its easy to give inf/art +1 if they start at a RR. Should you be able to use RR to give tanks/mech +1 (3 moves). With the bigger map size it has work well with AB & NB giving extra movement. With that said all ships start w/2 movement, where ground has 1-2.  In Europe there will be a lot more land tt, so a boost to all ground units might be warranted even for tanks. It could also speed up games, but would it give an advantage to one side or the other?

      B) Should you be able to use RR in both combat and non combat. Keep in mind you can use AB & NB in both.

      C) SBR works just as if you were hitting an AB/NB.

      Option: I might go one step further w/SBR allowing you to bomb any tt adjacent to a RR to take away extra movement through that tt (would not change normal movement just +1 in that direction). A stat bmr does a fly by (rolls a dice) place damage chips equal to 1/2 the dice roll rounded down (3 max). If you want to use the RR through that damaged tt pay in your purchase units phase (could be worth getting imp fac tech-1/2 for repairs). You could also place AA guns along the routes you want to take to deter bombings.

      Well of course that is understood.  Why would any Army Airforce plane look normal on a carrier?

      A set with a P-38, a P-51, a F4U, and a F6F or SBD would be nice.

      Japan can pass through those sea zones during the non-combat phase while not at war with the ally powers.  So really, is it that big of an issue?

      When Japan attacks on the first turn, who cares about the UK?  they are going to be earning nothing a turn, you can put a Major Factory down in Hong Kong if you were so inclined, dump loads of infantry down for use as soakers along with the insane airforce you have at your disposal and still have enough cash to start buying DDs to soak against America.

      Even if it looks hopeless.

      Keep in mind that in this game after the allies take Japan, that the game is not officially over. Japan gets to try and recapture Tokyo in its next turn (of course it won’t have any $). The allies may have used all their resources to take Japan and lost most of their fleet due to scramble. The allied 2 hit ships won’t be repaired. As said before Japan can drop a ton of inf w/some air support on the Island, so the allied invasion force could also be very weak. Obviously Japan would have to have a secondary force steaming back home, but its possible. In a nut shell both sides could be decimated, and it would be back to square one. The US should have the upper hand due to income, but it would be several rounds before it could mount another attack, giving Japan time to reclaim some tt.

      I know its a long shot, but I have seen powers come back from the dead in other AA games. Granted those games normally have allies to bail them out. It would be like a huge 4th come back in football. You wouldn’t want to be the person that walked out of the stadium at 1/2 time.

      No T1 attacks, please, its far too early. Just think about it, do you realy want USA to collect 62 IPC, UK to collect 37 IPC and ANZAC to collect 18 IPC when you still are on less then 30 IPC ?

      You need to attack Kwangtung at the same time you attack Phillipines and Malaya. To do this, you will need to take control of FIC in T1, and then move your trannies into position for several attacks. In T1 you only have like 3 trannies. Your best opportunity to attack will be in T3, or maybe in T2. Not later, and not earlyer.

      UK 37 is a huge lie

      13 is more accurate, malay can be takes round 3
      US + 40 is nothnig compared to what they lose
      take kwantung with land forces :)

      Aye, and its one of the reasons i’m tempted to take my subs south on J1 instead of hold them for an attack at pearl.  You can only take so much from the UK on J2, and those subs would threaten there boats, and cost them IPCs.

      Yes, this way singapore is more of the fortress it hisotrically was because the UK will have an easier time of  reinforcing malay and it is harder for Japan to get at.

      Larry Harris has often said that the borders and names of the territroies in A&A are as much or more so a reflection geography as they are a reflection of politics.

      I just got my game today and I was actually impressed with the quality of the “cardboard” pieces. They are laminated with some kind of a matte-textured rubber. I think they did a good job on this!

      Well it’s a good thing you like them, because I think it is the new trend with WOTC. Being cheap that is. They didn’t even hire a proofreader.

      Well I like the new rules anyway.

      Just thought of something….if the global game has the USA at an ungodly amount of income then they could be producing too many bombers and then they could SBR Germany to nothing pretty fast. If that is the case then The new rule is actually needed for balance or it could get out of hand. We’ll see.
