    • RE: Convoy quirk QUESTION

      @Krieghund:

      Sea zones don’t belong to anyone, so convoys don’t belong to anyone.  If you have a ship in a sea zone with a convoy marker that’s adjacent to an enemy’s territory during his/her collect income phase, you reduce his/her income.  It’s as simple as that.

      I love this new rule, Kev. Was it Mons that come up with the idea ? Anyway, lets take an example:

      UK controll Kwangtung (3IPC) and Japan controll Formosa (1 IPC)
      UK has a sub in seazone 20 and Japan has a sub in seazone 20. This is legal according to the rules.

      The Japanese sub deny UK 2 IPC income, and in next turn, if still alive, the UK sub deny Japan its 1 IPC income. This happens because convoys belong to everybody that control any adjacent territory, right ?

      @Imperious:

      I think they should add marines, because AAP40 didn’t include any like AAP

      American should be enough.

      Or let me put it this way : They should include one elite unit for each nation, with a slightly different color. This elite units act as both marines, paratroopers, mountain units and ski-troops.

      USA get Marines of course.
      UK get Commandoes.
      Germany get Fallschirmjaegers (paratroopers)
      Japan get Imperial Marines.

      Russsia got Ski-troops.

    • RE: American split income?

      Also let me comment on the actual topic. I dont like special rules for split income. I know we need them, but I dont like them. I think the player should decide where he wants to place his units. If he wants to place all in one theater, thats OK to me. And as long as it is team victory conditions, he might get away with it too. If the game had individual victory conditions, then no player could afford to ignore any theater. It would be like the real war, everybody looks out for everybody. The only fix this game need is individual victory conditions. Now go tell Larry that.

      @johnnymarr:

      in AAP, they (the Marines) cost 4 and attacked at 1 unless it was an amphibiaus asssualt, then they attacked at 2.  currently, artillery would be the better buy because they always attack at 2.

      Yes, but remember that the Marines did attack at 3 or less if amphibious assaulting together with a matching artillery. That was a lot of bang for the bucks. Too bad Larry dont want them.

      This is off topic, and they deserve a dedicated thread, butt since we are at it, Razor think the Marines should go free on a tranny, as their special ability. Just think about it. An infantry unit or a tank unit, or an artillery unit, they all are attached to large supply and support units with trucks and horses, that takes a lot of space on a tranny. A Marine unit is only the men, since they will be supplyed from their ships.
      Come to think about it, Marines should be able to travel on destroyers or cruisers. Like one DD takes one matching Marine as cargo.

      On page 11, the allied ships use a chinese symbol, but China dont have any ships.

      The pic on the back of the box have an russian T34 tank in Australia, with gray color.

      The Japanese Yamato battleship is now the shortest of all battleships. It should be the largest.

      Your numbers are correct, but what kind of retard would do anything like that ?

      And I dont think the casual players buy this game, so they are out of the question.

      The dice from AA50 was red with white spots, and black with white spots, and round corners.
      They were handsome.

      The dice from AA42 are red with black spots, and black with red spots, and that makes them ugly to look at.
      They look almost as ugly as I do, he he

    • RE: The new SBR system

      @General:

      I have a question.

      Say you have a navy in port and the port gets attacked with SBR.  Can the navy take part in air defence for one round also?

      A navy is never in a Naval Base (belive it or not). The ships are in a seazone adjacent to a Naval Base, butt the Naval Base facility is in the territory. So if you want to attack both the ships and the Naval Base at Pearl Harbour, then you must split your airforce. Some planes attack the ships, and the ships defend themselves. Oher planes attack the Naval Base, and the Naval Base have their own AA-guns to protect themselves. Get it ? O’boy, Razor can be the new unofficial answer guy, man.

      @Imperious:

      yea thats true. the counters should be round and larger.

      Razor do remember that you wanted the factories printet on the map. This was of course long before the new SBR system. It could still have worked with printet IC’s, just placed a stack of chips on top off them. Lets say the major facilities was printet on map, and the old factory was minors that could be purchased and place in far away areas.

      And of course they are all made of cardboard, WOTC blew it here.

      The facilities will look funny after SBR. A huge stack of chips with a tiny cardboard on top.

      @Imperious:

      On another note: Hopefully this global game will return AA to a social multiplayer environment and no more of the ‘one guy playing 3-4 sides thing’

      Only an individual victory condition will make that happen.
