@SS:
Sweeeetttt! Is your map from AA mini sets.
More likely from ToI / Tide of Iron I would think.

I don’t have the skills necessary but I sure would like it if we could get an IPC income spreadsheet to print out.
I am coming around to the pen and paper income tracking, but I would like a nice way to do it.Anyone up to the challenge?
Something like this, found on BGG : http://www.boardgamegeek.com/filepage/88812/aa-1914-national-production-chart-and-turn-order-t
You have to log in though and give credit to the owner/creator, logicman.

Too bad Garg, I also agreed with Moose 11, no balancing needed.
German subs almost starved UK out of the war and had the Allies to put in all their forces togheter to wipe out the Unterseeboot menace. I think by the time you put a 100 ipc worth of german subs in the Atlantic, from two to three turns plus the time to move them out of Europe etc,etc, the Allies will have more than triple that worth of ipc in ASW units and they will be near their home bases for fast movement in case of attacks/counterattack.
Maybe the wolfpack will be winning, as they usually do, at the beginning of the game, as was in the real war, but they can’t last for ever even with a lot of reinforcement, the Allies have only to overmatch it and they have the ipc to do it. Germany has its land warfare to keep rolling too.
This is my 2.? cents

Keep up the good excellent work.

An other year, an other upgrade, tankwise ( for me ).
1. 1 sub attacks 56 cruisers, 28 battleships 9 aircraft carriers, and 12 loaded transports.
- the sub wins without any shots fired.
I’ve never played Global, Garg how can that be? 1 to 1 rule means one attacking plane/ship per destroyer along with the destroyer? No destroyer no defense at all?
Then put a limit of two hits per sub max., ONLY ONE BATTLE. That will teach you to have destroyers with your fleet .
J. 8-)
The rule clearly stipulates that you cannot submerge in a sea zone with a destroyer.
So attacking - you can retreat.
But defending? What can you do? you can’t submerge even if you are undetected… and if you can’t retreat, then you must fight! Right?
The rules mentionned : ’ Undetected subs also have the ability to submerge and leave the battle… etc. They can do this instead of their first strike '. To me that means both attacking and defending subs.

Hi,
Answer to ex # 1. Make sure you always have destroyers in your fleet.
Question # 1. undetected sub have the ability to submerge and leave the battle, not the battle zone. top para of pg 36/rules.
Question #2. Only one sub was detected by the destroyer, so only one sub can be killed.

PS not typing fast enough I guess…
@CWO:
The original A&A game (by Nova Games) used cardboard counters. The next version (by Milton Bradley) used plastic miniatures. The Milton Bradley A&A was one of several games which MB published as part of its Gamemaster Series; I forget what the other ones were, but they had nothing to do with A&A. So “Gamemaster Series” is a Milton Bradley term more than an A&A term.
Hi,
Info wise for the other Gamemaster Series : Broadside and Boardding Parties; Conquest of the Empire, Fortress America and Shogun. The last three were remade/new version lately.

Yes, thank you for keeping it up. I do like the write-up and pics too. Cheers

Thanks for the help on that radar! Beat me to it.
No sweats. I had to redeem myself after the snafu I made earlier on. :wink:

@SS:
Ain’t those the rules for 39 global game and not Barbarossa
Right… :oops:
Did order the Barborassa map and yes there are no rules/setups yet on the BGG site. My bad.
J. :roll:
@Imperious:
there under the files section, use the ’ fixe errors ’ one.
Where? link?
Ok, here : http://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/84010/global-war-1939-official-setup-v-5-0

@Imperious:
where are the rules and setups?
Hi,
Set-ups version 5.0 are there under the files section, use the ’ fixed errors ’ one. Waiting for rules v 5.1
J. 8-)
Our group will be playing Global War 1939 for four Tuesdays starting Nov 13. This looks like an exciting game, and we are all looking forward to playing it.
Questions:
- When Germany activates Romania, does Germany collect 4 income AND Romania collects 6 income? Yes
- What is the most recent version of rules and setup charts? I want to make sure we use the most recent versions. 5.0, as far as I know.
Highlight of the things we think we will really like: Same here
- One destroyer per sub detection.
- Mechanized Infantry rules
- Convoy boxes
- Political rules for Russian and USA entry
Variants we will probably play:
- We will probably play without the special units. We don’t have enough pieces, and it doesn’t seem they would make a huge difference. Fair enough
- We will roll 4 dice and take the middle 2 when calculating the extra income for Russia and the USA. This will reduce variance somewhat since a few players already pointed out their concern for rolling a pair of '1’s or "12"s. I like it.
Craig
Enjoy your game and give us a feed back later on. Cheers

@Imperious:
A game called ‘Gigantan’ was remade and does have open bed trucks. Check BGG
Close, but try GIGANTEN, 4 players : http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/138389/giganten
Only four trucks, too big though. Lot of oil derricks, 3 barrels and 5 locomotives.
And the new version BLACK GOLD, 5 players : http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/1018738/black-gold
