Romanian IC???- no way, Larry killed that in Alpha +2- its too much overkill and retricts options to Axis always doing Barbarossa. All Germany does G1 is upgrade, build and steamroll Russia- too much- bad idea IMHO

Agreed! Has anyone play tested games where the US doesn’t come into the war until Turn 4? Seems likes this may be an easy fix to the game. Although I don’t know, as I haven’t tried it before.

Besides I have a few weekend trips coming up so I’ll be taking some time off starting this weekend-  we’ll play again for sure- I just don’t wanna waste my time when I know Larry’s ready to spit out the FINAL Alpha+3 game out.  Finally, we’ll be playing with a finished product- only took 2 years-geesh. :-D  Happy 4th!!!

Or, for crazy gamblers , you could also go to sz98 and add the Uk Pacific boats (that you moved in range on UK1) to this fleet. From sz98, you can go full pacific, or try to get back Gib, or attack the Italian.

Hope he releases Alpha 3 on the 4th, would be poetic with how insanely powerful he made America this time out. =p

Anyway, I just recovered a Pacific Pac-Strat when E. USA was taken by the Germans AND got back in time to save Russia still.

Sorry, can’t do Brighton, a little far.  However I will be at the MichCon Convention all day Friday 1pm to Close and Saturday after 4pm.  Saturday there will be an AAGlobal session going on at 4 and 7pm.  On Friday, I’m just gonna bring my own copy and play in the free play section.

They also have a WinterCon at Oakland University- I’ll be there also.

Does anyone know of any home made set-ups for this game?

Played it for the 1st time last week-end and it was very fun.

We thought we would try bidding for territories next time.

Exemple: each player has 200 “credit” (total) to bid with.
We draw the 1st territory card, and players can bid for it. when nobody wants to top the last player bid, he got the territory, and so on…
so good bidding strategy is rewarded by better positioning at the beginning of the game, or more territories (ie more cash to spend).

Thou shall not have thy brother on the opposite team lest we start arguing and end up throwing haymakers instead of dice!

By the way, this sealion airstrike scenario is also the reason why Britain starts out with a mech.  It can go to Eireland and back to London in time for the invasion.

Slacker is right, yeah its not what we all expected but its still a great game and you should be happy with Mr. Harris taking his time to help improve the game experience. yeah its a pain to check the updates but its not all that bad. i still like both the 1940 games and the way my gaming group plays, we don’t think the OOB is totally unbalanced. yeah it needed a little work but not that much. theirs my 2 cents
