    • RE: Sealion Version 1.0

      taking UK is not an auto-win for Germany–its far from it actually… Germany has to reverse strategy. now it has to prevent he US from liberating UK and Russia grows…this Sealion attack isnt special, dude…its isnt some game ender like you want to believe. :cry:

Please, will each one of you buy three copies and donate them to your local boys club?

      you are all very welcome, UnLarry.

    • RE: USSR Invasion

      it depends on how the Russian player lays out his armies. if he masses them on the borders,then he is doomed from the outset–attack every single army with everything you have. if he retreats back towards Moscow and sheds one infantry on the western-most territories and then begins to fortify the Smolensk-Bryansk-Rostov line then you will have to use both guile (with Italy as your blockade destoyer) and mass (German armor,mech and dive-bombers). Go south of the marshes (where all of the valuable Russian territories are) with the 90% of the weight of your attack. Italy can destroy Russian blockading units and open the way for German armor/mech spearheads.  Keep nourishing your attacks with units from that major IC you built on Romania. Fight a war of attrition and do not be afraid to lose units in offensive fighting.Keep attacking with mech,armor and air,even against superior numbers.

      Loose means not tight

      Lose means the opposite of winning.

      So we dont “loose” battles, we “lose” them.

      It is a common misconception that rolling the same die over and over again will produce a new result based on the experience of past rolls. Each new roll is reset at 1 out of 6, of about 16%

      the Gamblers Fallacy.

    • RE: Does Sealion break the Game(Europe Only)

      the game is not broken with Sealion. Larry himself said that he built it into the game–you guys are chasing a ghost. There is absolutely zero assurance that taking over the UK gives the Axis an auto-win. Go ahead and build eleven transports for two turns and watch Stalin smile. Puny Italy has no chance agains the US in Africa. There is still enough material in Africa to check the dagos before the US butts in. Russia will become the historical colossus. This is all just “mental masturbation”–who Can-Try-To-Find-A-Flaw and run apeshit with it.

    • RE: Does Sealion break the Game(Europe Only)

      @jim010:

      It’s not turn 2, it is turn 3, and I don’t have it at 90%, but I do have it at 80% +.

      That’s 4 out of 5 games.

      so every time you play you will do the same thing? how fun is that?  :roll:

    • RE: Does Sealion break the Game(Europe Only)

      I think that destroys the spirit of the game

      maybe for tournament or sentimental players but not for the average player. Larry said he included the potential for Sealion,so there is that element to the game, but there is no guarantee that it will work every time so saying the game is broken turns out to be wrong. I read somewhere that G2 Sealion will have 90% success rate. I think that is an exaggeration.

    • RE: Does Sealion break the Game(Europe Only)

      to answer the question, no. Its very simple,really–Sealion does not have to be done. Unless you are playing for money,why do you need to end a game in 10 minutes that you spent a hundred bucks on and 30 minutes setting up? There is no rule saying you have to do it. Just dont and then the game isnt broken. See how easy that was?

      sounds like a rhetorical question… did you lose a game to jim010 where he did Sealion to your UK?

    • Drop a sub in sz100

      germany builds factory in romania. builds one sub in lake 100. unless russia builds factory then destroyer, sub is untouchable and stops one british NO–the sub rule.  sz 100 is very very strategic  :wink:

    • RE: Most decisive battle of the Second World War

      @ABWorsham:

      How do you think a massive use German Paratrooper units on the Eastern side of the Volga River at Stalingrad would have played out? Could they have sealed off the trinkle of Soviet supplies and troops for the city? Or would the units been crushed?

      probably hitler wouldnt sanction it due to the catastrophe at crete

    • RE: US Fleet doom move

      lets pretend that the US cant reach Gibraltar…that it takes two moves to get there. Now imagine this post from some complainer:

      " This sucks. The US cant get to N Africa until two turns after they are in the war. I mean,the game is broken. Why didnt the playtesters catch this? Now Italy can just run rampant all over Africa and the Allies cant do squat. There should be a blank in blank or we are going to have to use bids"

      please quit. please. it is just a board game, you can play another game,another time. please. please.

    • RE: Italy a bad design

      G1 just build cv and 2 AP, and UK wastes the Italian fleet, then Germany wastes UK. Game over.

      Should be like 10 minutes. Don’t even set up the other pieces

      this isnt true. sea lion wont work. its a flawed plan that should never even be used
