    • RE: What are the most effective units?

You see, i dont know if that is the rules are broken, but it is somewhat refreshing to know that even with 2 king Tigers on the board, you still had infantry running around…even if the two were completely ineffective against each other.

One of my major concerns with this game was that it was going to go the route of most WotC games were the rares are king and commons and uncommons were basicly cannon fodder. I learned playing L5R how important it was to have a balance and while rares gave the advantage in specific situations, it was the commons and uncommons that won the day. It actually makes me more enthusiastic about playing knowing that every unit is important.

By the way, I have a limited amount of pieces right now but it appears that the king tiger is by far the most expensive piece to field. Is that the case and is it really worth it’s cost?

    • RE: MIAMI FLORIDA ….new player looking for other players.

hey no problem….I’d rather discuss airsoft until someone truies to link up for a game…better than sitting here doing nothing :)

I’m part of a local group called SEAL…southeast airsoft legion, but my team is a spetsnaz influnced team called gru-sv8, which itself sprouted when one of the members of shadowcell came down to to Florida… If you are into the whole East bloc airsfot thing; check out red-alliance.net

Apart from that we are also working on developing a game for January in Orlando called Op;Sandstorm…something very similar to what went on in the last Op:Irene. We plan on doing a WW2 scenario soon—Op:Nightwatch.

Time for some shameless plugs  :-P

    • RE: Where to buy?

Yeah…i used to work for a WotC store here…the only one in south florida…it was open for about 4 to 5 years.

This is how it was put to me when I worked there:

“Although Miami has a large population, it is not one that has games in it’s culture. During the Summer, it is very hot and people make it to the beach and during the winter, the weather is very nice and people go out. We never get snowed in and bust out games like alot of folks up north…we always have another alternative.”

So because of that, we only have a few shops…I went to Tampa and Jax and saw ten times more stores…

I’m planning on moving out of here by sometime next year and I cant wait to see what is available. I became a serious gaming geek working for WotC…i know play 13+ CCGs, 12 or so RPG and 7or so mini games…well, atleast I used to at one time    :|

Somehow I think my wife sees it as more ridiculous than fun though…so it will be my little secret.

Apart from local games store, what other places might have them…I know that Gamestops and EB stores sometimes carry Wizkids products, but I havent looked for A&A…what about ToysRus?

I live in Miami and you would figure that with 5 Million people living here there woulb be more game shops that a measly 3 or 4…

An army builder file would certainly help quite a bit….it would also print out all the stats so I would be able to store my cards for safe keeping.

Yep….Been playing for about 3 or so years…member of GRU-SV8 and part of Mindgame productions, an airsoft event organizer…

I was looking into some WW2 airsoft for a while, but it is very hard to get guys into re-enacting down here, so I sold my Thompson, but kept all my gear…maybe I’ll put it to good use at a later date…right now, A&A can fill my WW2 cravings…if I can find a group down here…

    • MIAMI FLORIDA ….new player looking for other players.

      Well, my first post…

I’m looking to see what the A&A community is like in South Florida…places to play, player base, age groups, ect…

I’m currently in the country Walk area and I’m looking for a group to play with, hopefully leaning towards historical scenarios rather than quick games…

I guess I should also emphasize that I’m looking for A&A MINIATURE players. Nothing against the old school…I still have all my copies of A&A, Shogun, and Fortress America…but I just want to check out the miniature facet of the game.
