    • RE: Still a Japan round 1 declaration of war

I am not a big fan of J1 attack - I think alot of that money starts heading towards Germany/Italy…and if I am an axis player I want Germany/Italy to not see a green pc of plastic rolling dice against me until US4-5 at the earliest…not US2!!!

    • RE: Tank Purchases R.I.P.

I don’t know….The way I read it (for the germans at least) They are probably going to buy heavy on infantry the first 2-3 turns to build a strong defesive position in europe and then a mix of Tanks and Mech to move forward and catch up with the men walking to the eastern front.  Nice breather in there from Russia to start with…

Anyway…I challenge anybody to win a game either as allies or axis without buying some tanks for either germany or russia…hell, a couple of tanks coming out of south africa will go a long way for the UK in africa too for that matter.

    • RE: How will we calculate battles without a calculator?

I agree - make an educated guess and start rolling the dice….
If you need to have that kind of certainty when playing a game like this I highly suggest inducing a small quantity of alchohol (not too much now…a little bit goes along way when you are only a 1/2" tall and made of plastic…)  That should help nicely and will bring a fresh perspective to the game!

    • RE: Are the pieces of AA42 the same as their AA Global counterparts?

Many parts are the same - but some are new.  I have hashed together a whole pile of extra pcs from older games.  I like using the plastic Industrial complexes from the old games as Major Industrial complexes in the new game - I am even going to paint an anchor and plane on the sides of a few to save a little space in the territories that have Major Ind/airbase/naval base.  I also use the AA guns from my old games instead of the tokens.  I really can’t stand the tokens.  Maybe Field Marshal Games will make a set of plastic pcs to replace all the stupid tokens.  The big thing is extra chips from older games - can never get enough of those!

    • Really could use a sticky for Errata/Questions/Etc. or something…..

Now that a bunch of us are starting to get our hands on the game, a sticky for Errata/Questions/Etc. would be a good idea….

    • RE: Wooooo!

Got mine last night! Really is sweet when set-up for global - a little scary even.  Thats a whole lot of little plastic guys with rifles - I think they could take my cat out next time he starts sniffing around the board!

Will be playing all day next Saturday and enjoying the merits of a cold beer amongst friends - this Saturday if I can find an early copy somewhere!
