Dumb sub question….posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
One fighter and one Dest. attack one sub.
Both attack rolls miss
Defend roll hits and kills Dest.
Since Dest. is now dead, Sub can submerge and combat ends, right?
Got into an arguement, and would like third party feedback….

RE: OH JOY!!posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
FMG got them yesterday….he stated in another post that he bought 85+ copies and got them on Monday (he seemed a little annoyed that all the local little stores got them first…)

RE: Taking France - what do you use?posted in Axis & Allies Europe 1940
and by the way…I sometimes send the two tanks from south germany to southern france instead of taking normandy in G1…nice little option that gives germany access to the med…

Have had no issue taking France and Normandy. Can take out the RN with out any real problems - Sometimes kill the stuff off Canada, sometimes leave it - depends on the vibe I am getting from the dice Gods….

Also, the tank pieces are the coolest looking ones, so you will want to buy more to make your army look cool……

RE: New Players Have Much More to Learn Than When I Startedposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
I am a big fan of giving America to new players….they get a good taste of everything when it comes to game mechanics. You can instruct them with what to buy and why, and then they can still figure out how to utilize the purchase with a broad strategic outline laid out by the other allied players. That why they don’t feel overwhelmed and still make lots of choices by themself. Plus, I always split our game group up by experience as much as possible. My cousin and I are probably the best A&A players in our circle and we NEVER play on the same side. I don’t like to see a new guy playing the axis at all, it is much easier for a new guy to react to the axis vs. plan out the initial attacks…

RE: Any After Action Reports Yet?posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
It is far easier for the combined Axis to defend the Med and keep pressure on Russia vs. the Allies defending Russia and keeping pressure on Europe.

Thanks! Always nice to have a few Rules Lawyers around to quote case law.

RE: Japan-Soviet Non-Aggression-Pactposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
I love how half of the posts here revolve around some “new” house rule. 95% of the people out there don’t even have the game yet, but everyone is already trying to “fix” it……get back to me with all your ideas in say, 10-15 games.
Staying on topic here…I would stack and stay one back from border…holds some of the Japanese back from China/India and can be used as a bomber base (lots of US planes buzzing around the board in my opinion - fastest way for US to get 82 IPC’s into the fight)

RE: Global Board compared to Anniversary Boardposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
compare AA50 to the first Axis & Allies from the 80’s….same kind of jump from AA50 to AAGlobal…

RE: United Kingdom national objectivesposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
The money in each theatre is added up and given to that capital (London or Calcutta)
so….
The way I read the N.O. is that the ANZAC territory N.O. would go to Calcutta, and the N.O. for no U-boats on board would go to Europe…Anyone else have thoughts on this?

RE: Taking over unfriendly neutrals on G1?posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
I concur with preceding statements. Attacking a pro-allies neutral as the axis (or vice versa) will not start a state of war with USA or Russia, and will not turn the strict neutrals to pro-allies.
It was a very interesting first game……lots to do
and by the way…if you are setting it up before your friends get there, plan on a good 30-45 minutes…

Feels so nice to be quoted….at least when the person quoting you agrees!
