      @BadSpeller:

      It lasts about the same amount of time that it takes to grow a beard.

      Some men shave more often then others….

      @JamesAleman:

      Food for thought. I just read 9 pages of this forum, gave up and jumped to the end.

      and we are still going at it….this really needs to be cleaned up…

    • RE: Lack of board flatness

      Hold the boards together with Painters masking tape (the blue stuff)  It peels off without grabbing the paper back side and tearing it (at least so far!)

    • RE: One tough French destroyer

      LOW LUCK SUCKS BIG HAIRY SMELLY MONKEY BALLS COVERED IN ROTTEN BANANAS!!!

      Dice, however, are the epitomy of class and sophistication, giving the game a whimisical, light hearted element of chance, that can, when shared in a good nature, build a lifelong comraderie with your opponent.

    • RE: Italy a bad design

      I simply can not move on…I am so bitter about losing my puny Italian fleet in the first turn…I mean my UK fleet…I mean the french army…I mean…aww, nevermind…I will just see what happens in the SECOND turn of the game after I am done bitching about the first turn!  Anybody need a tissue to dry up all there tears?  How about a good anti-depressant to help put your life in a better perspective.  It is a frigging game…

      @jeffdestroyer:

      if the USA goes all Europe, then Japan will take Honolulu and the rest of the Pacific and likely Cairo.

      Germans DO NOT need Moscow in order for the Axis to achieve 14 VC.

      Exactly - Axis victory is not a race to Moscow…need Victory Cities…could be from west US…or UK…or some other victory city…say, on the moon…

      Anybody notice how the Axis get extra moolah for taking some of the harder to get VC’s…
      Helps balance the IPC’s…

    • RE: Axis or Allies Wins in Those Who Have Played Global…List them here.

      2 games (and one 3 rounder to get used to it…the chinese probably could have won this one…)

      Axis won once
      Allies won once

      Deciding factor = Dice

    • RE: Italy a bad design

      The simple fact that this thread is already 5 pages long with everyone arguing back and forth about “you can do this and the axis is screwed” and then someone else states back "yeah but then the axis can do this back…and by the way, then the allies are screwed…) tells me that the game is pretty balanced.  There are a TON of stratagies that I still have not heard…for starters…The game seems to be 8-10 rounds to Moscow/Japan and Germany/Allies big battles - I think over all the years Larry probably got pretty tired of that…so…I wonder how Japan would feel about US’s 600+ IPC’s floating around the Pacific…Balanced enough for you?  The Axis victory conditions are based on Cities…quite a few of those in the pacific…

      Personnally, I doubt more than 5% of games played are actually finished to the victory conditions laid out in the rules…

      Also - This is a game based on the outcome of a little plastic cube that dishes out unbelievable amounts of random chaos!

      Balance is up to YOU and your OPPONENT - maybe you think the game is broken because you are always losing, or maybe it is broken because you are always winning and can’t find a good challenger.

      Quite complaining and start playing…talk to me in 6 months about game balance and maybe I will be a little more receptive…

      And while I am at it - LOW LUCK SUCKS MONKEY BALLS!  Do you play cards without the 5’s, 9’,s and Aces?!?!?  Start rolling Dice!

    • RE: New Rules Question: Straits and Neutral Naval Units

      Excellent series of questions on the BB leaving Baltic….I can’t wait to hear everyones answers…

      If BB is refused and causes war - sucks for germany
      If BB is allowed and sits with brits in later game - sucks for germany
      If BB is refused and can’t start war - sucks for russia

      My opinion is the first two situations can take place…because…if a neutral can block a straight without starting war, it leads to neutral ships blocking sea zones, which we already know is not the case.

    • RE: A 'during the action' report

      Why on earth did the UK attack Japan in the first round of the game!!!  I certainly would not have done that without one heck of a good reason…really opens the door for Japan to run rampant and now the USA does not get it’s bonus income…maybe I am missing something here…

    • RE: Time?

      About an hour a turn (maybe less as the game develops) - at least 8-12 turns unless somebody completely botches it….and that is after a few games now…first game took like four hours to get through 2 turns…lots to learn…
