RE: Another look at the SAF ICposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
no techs: wast of $, never use them… although with the new rules it is interesting to try them out. but ya, i’m not a fan of techs any way.
now i’m a big Japan buff, i avoid UK and US like the plauge, no joke.
now i have only ever played 1 game on the new board (secound comes up this weekend/hope to get a third too), so i can’t say i’m not a nob ether.LL or ADS up to you.
i’m new hear so havn’t picked up there meaning for sure, i think LL is ment to be low luck or no dice… no clue how that works. ADS i guess means with dice, or some other thing meaning just that.
Use triplea
no clue what that means, sorry
I can host via hamachi
again not sure what this means…. i’m sure its one way to play online, but i never have so not sure how it works.
now as for the game, you Axis, me Allies. got that (i hate playing allies), but i’m up for it.
open a thread in the “game’s in progress” or where ever it’s suppost to go so we arn’t taking up space hear… as we are now OFF TOPIC… atleast untell we get results. i may need lots of help getting started (but not with stratagy) -
RE: Another look at the SAF ICposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
even if Germany makes a push for Africa, if the US takes the opertunity they can drop some troops right into Africa on US1 to also slow the Germans… the UK may even be able to drop troops via Transport if need be, although i don’t see that as a good idea. the idea is to make sure the Germans don’t gain Africa, and with that complex there i think it can work even if both Germany and Japan make a push for it as it pulls both nations from there other more vital front of the USSR.
as is with most stratagies it’s a gamble, but it is one that i think can work for the Allies if the US and UK both work with it. -
RE: Another look at the SAF ICposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
i don’t think it makes USSR in trouble, ya from Japan, but not as much from Germany as they also arn’t geting the IPC’s from Affrica (or atleast not as many) meaning they have less ground troops for Europe to buy each turn. also it gives the UK more ground troops to ship to USSR to hold out, or push into Norway that much sooner and hold it.
this also allows the US to not go for affrica and accually fight for it so they can start shiping men to UK/affrica to make there big Europe push OR allows them to put more pressure on Japan earlier.
if Germany sees this and says “it’s a waist of my resources” then it frees up Japan but also frees up UK and US, well both USSR and Germany both suffer about the same (Germany less troops each turn/ USSR gets hit by Japan sooner/harder).
if Germany sees the factory and shots for it, then less troops to fight USSR, and the UK can hold the German advance for long enough for US to get there. so again good for the Allies (only not AS good as if Germany dosn’t go for it).
i think this factory is a good stratagy for the UK as it adds much to the Allies, and only hurts Germany with the posibility of hurting Japan. -
RE: Missing Pieces Questionsposted in Axis & Allies Europe

RE: A discussion on Germany's National Advantagesposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
i think U-Boats are getting under ratted. i havn’t played with these rules as i just got them (thx tekkyy; i would give + Karma but can’t). but looking at the German start they have 3 U-Boats, thats -$6 to the Allies on the first turn if none are sunk. no big deal there, but if Germany buys even 1 and drops it in the med where it’s safe it will be payed for in 4 turns of doing nothing. it may not be a big deal or a game winner, but i think it has the potental to have some real effect on the game.
the true advantage to them isn’t the $2 a turn they take away, but rather that it’s annoying to both UK and US and they may direct attention to them that would other wise go other places. -
RE: Special first turn attack advantage for Japan?posted in Axis & Allies Pacific
ok i don’t have my rule book on me but if i remember right it is all US or Allied units deffend at a 1 on turn 1… i think it’s just US units.

RE: A discussion on Germany's National Advantagesposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition

i’m guessing thats 2.0, if thats the case where are the 2.0 rules? i was just told a few days ago that 1.3 was the set that were used. again i’m new hear and trying to get this. -
RE: A discussion on Russia's National Advantagesposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
war should never be PC, when you make it so you lose more then you should.
another option would be allow them something like China has in the Pacific. free Infantry but if they meet a condition of holding the right teritories.
i like the cheap crumy infantry better though as it has more charicter and shows how poor there economy realy was. -
RE: A discussion on Russia's National Advantagesposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
i can see slowing it, but not limiting the number of moves.
what i mean is you can’t use it the turn it moves. that would mean it would slow it’s use, but not limit it too much.i always thought USSR should have a new Malita/conscript unit, and NA’s could work for this great. at $1 or $2 they get a unit that attacks and deffends at 1, Artillary has no bonus to it, and it can only move with in USSR starting territoris. that was before the west USSR teritory, so that may extend to that, but not further.
it’s a little off topic, but it also fits hear i think as it would be a NA…. cheap crummy infantry. -
RE: What about an American Battleship strategy?posted in Axis & Allies Classic
the idea is not for the US to gain the territories early, it allows the UK to build a supply chain of just Transports with no real threat to them and with say 4 BB’s you are forcing Germany to keep Infantry back allong the north Europe coast. they leave France with a small force then the US bombards it and then Germany has to pull more men that way then from the USSR front to keep the UK from landing there. the Germans also have to be carfull of luck by the US, they can’t leave just 1 guy over what the US has in battle ships as if the US gets lucky and hits with 100% and then lands with there solo infantry (or if the US has more there and feels like being lucky they try to go with more) and gets a hit with that infantry then Germany is cripled. should the Allies count on that happening? no, but Germany has to be carfull that it dosn’t happen so they got to have atleast 2 more units in the teritory then the US has BB’s. and all that will be Infantry as who wants to lose tanks, or fighters to bombardment. so not only are you keeping extra Germans from the front line, you are also killing men, and giving the UK a safe resupply rout to the USSR.
i think the next time i’m an Allie i will try this just becouse i think it has lots of potental. -
RE: A discussion on Russia's National Advantagesposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
Your industrial complexes each may move 1 territory during your noncombat move phase.
i think this means land only, no transports IMO.
i would like to see this kind of thread for each nation too. i’m learning these rules and find this infromitive.
i have just read all the NA’s and i find USSR’s are not the best -
RE: Help - Adviceposted in Other Games

RE: Help - Adviceposted in Other Games
got me a little confused there, are you saying the Marines motto has changed?
i can’t see why years of tradition would be tossed… and just in the last few years at most. -
RE: Help - Adviceposted in Other Games
off topic, but be safe and take care.
i saw some place you said you were a Marine, so Semper Fias for multi play games for PC, no clue… the ones we played are a little dated, i remember one of our guys working Bear Share or something like that for free down loads… it’s free and he got us lots of games. it just took time to find them. some cases we had to get one copy of the game, but got a patch to play with out the disk.
again stay safe. -
RE: A&A newbie questionsposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
SpottedCow i’m new to the new board too, Japan is my personal fav to play, and lets face it Pearl Harbor was a death sentence in 2nd ed (i’m thinking it was 2nd ed i had for so long), now i have played the new Revised (with out the LHTR rules) game once and the first thing i saw was Pearl Harbor could be done and not be suicide. 2 hit battle ships area a blessing, i think for Japan above all else as now Japan can buy them if they want, but more so because they have 2 to start with.
the game i played i used Japan to destract the US to me and it worked. i would drop men into Alaska and then pull them back out before they could be hit, my fleet was large and right off the coast of LA and the US had to commit a good sized land force to keep me from landing but at the same time couldn’t build a Navy because i could sink it as soon as it arrived.
my point is the new rules help all the nations, you just have to think of new ways to play them. Japan is a powerfull nation in the revised game. you just have to use it as such. don’t let the US build there navy on the West Coast, use your plains to desimate the UK navy, and transport large numbers of troops into main land Asia to put the presure ok USSR and push past India to aid the Germans in Africa if they need it so they can hold it out longer if it comes to that. -

Supernaturarlposted in Other Games
Supernaturarl is an online turn based WWII what if game. and yes the name is spelt right.
the theam is WWII, but it takes a snip of the world and that is where you fight.
for example Era 1 (the first game) was based on the German/France boarder. Era 2 was based in France, Era 3; China, Era 4; UK (this is the game that is about to start).
now the game is WWII, but you have to remember it’s a “What IF”, so historic accuaracy is tosed out, the what if is that we have things in the world that don’t realy exist like; Vampires (2 teams as of now), Ghost (a Brit team), Gargoyals, Mages, Undead Cultist, Super Heros (we have 2 teams, one has a team member that is based on Captin Amarica, and the leader is based on Wolvarine), Golams, Space Bugs (2 teams, based a lot on Star Crafts Zurg), Space Cats (Kittens of Doom… i love the name and there leaders avitar is a kitten sitting in a window with a sniper rifle). there are a lot of other teams too, these are just some that stand out.
you can still Register a team for the next few days an add to ether the Axis, Allies, or the already huge Neutral forces.hope to see people there (and no i did not creat this account for making this post, i gain nothing by this but added fun for a great game).
